    I owned a 2010 Vibe for a year before it was killed by a DUI driver, I put 87,000km on that car in one year, only had to do Breaks once, Tires once, and alot of oil but i had 0 problems, They aren't fast but they are super fun to drive, id haul down dirt roads and throw it into corners and it would take it no problem, Id also do uber runs for hours with constant stop and go in city traffic, getting in and out, stopping and going, hitting potholes, i did long distance trips with it and it took it all with 0 probelms whatsoever not to mention they dont have blindspots. These are the #1 best cars for first cars

    Recently got a 2010 matrix. Haven’t put a thousand miles on her yet but I do like it. Drives very nice. Needed some work due to previous owners mistreatment. Once that was done she drove great. Still a few dents and dings but I’ll get to that. Yesterday I put in a better radio. After some adjustments here and there it rocks!
    Also have a 1990 Toyota Camry. A project vehicle. The quality of both cars is astounding.

    Love my 2010 Toyota Matrix, only had 23 miles on it when I bought it new and kept mileage low on it. Paid it off in early 2015 and have enjoyed not having a car payment since. Currently have 107000 miles on it. Other than normal replacements i.e. brakes, tires, tail lights, etc. only major cost was replacing the 2 front wheel hubs which all things considered if I had the tools already would have been easy enough to replace myself with the youtube videos available. Will probably invest a new steering wheel in the future as the factory steering wheel is showing some wear as well as replacing the front seats (not that they are in bad condition just what something nicer). Will probably replace the radio at some point too. Very reliable commuter car.

    Just purchased a 2007 Vibe with 93,000 miles. After a week I’ve put 200 miles on it for a combined city/hwy of 31mpg. Was looking at a few 2010 Matrix but honestly cannot stand the way the dash looks compared to the older models. 08 was the max year I was willing to go with. That zig zaggy shifter, the obling part on the gauge cluster, the way the stereo sits in the dash, the temp controls, all just look gross to me on the “newer” ones

      @CinHalCedHerChance 2 месяца назад

      I had to laugh, your username "savage" with some wrestler as your avatar and you saying "gross" 😂😂
      The shifter isn't the greatest looking on the newer models, but the exterior XR on the newer models look a lot better than the 08s. I guess we can't have it all. lol

      Yeah, I play and dance a little bit of music in every video. Lol I know it's boring, but I try to test everything on the car, that way if something is wrong, I can fix later.

    That’s her matrix was in excellent car. It’s very sad that Toyota stopped making them, only to redesign and rebrand them as a Toyota Corolla hatchback.
    I have a first generation 2004 matrix with over 134,000 miles . I am the second owner and I’ve had it going on 11 years. The car has been a huge blessing and I have not had a single problem with it from a mechanical standpoint. I love my car and I plan on keeping it forever if I can.

    How's the suspension?
    The previous generation Matrix was known for there rough ride

      My mom has an 09' S AWD (2nd gen) and the suspension is tuned on the sporty side, meaning it rides rough. Idk if it's because it's an S, but it does ride rough.

      I agree, I had a vibe for a year and I loved it so much so that when I go to buy my next car it will be a matrix or vibe. Super reliable, Easy to park, Good in gas, Easy to work on and doesn't have blind spots

    • @sergeantbigmac
      @sergeantbigmac Год назад

      @@July1st1867 Unfortunately they stopped making them a decade ago, so youll have to buy an older used probably high mile example. Its a tragedy that they had to stop making them because of poor sales. I wish more companies would make sport wagons again theyre like the most utilitarian type vehicles ever made. I know Toyota has recently come out with the 'cross' which is a hatch built on a Corolla frame same as the Matrix was. But they just arent the same. Despite being bigger vehicles they dont have as much useable interior space.

    Somebody please tell me how on earth is that 13yo car so clean? Seriously? Not just like dirty/clean , like no scratches no wear/tear clean!?! Did the reseller replace all that plastic!? How does it look brand new. Mines only got 5K more miles, same trim & 2.4L engine (but w the AWD) AND my car looks USED. Meticulously maintained, but uuuuused! Somebody explain please!

      Must be where you parked, live or what you may have loaded in it. I've seen plenty still looking real nice, in/out. In fact I'm looking at a 2010 currently that's perfect in/out under 3k of miles it was a very old persons car that rarely drove it. Just saying, if you search via the net, there is a LOT South & West that are mint still!

    I am a new driver and the first car i drove is a matrix. I am 6 foot 2 and had barely any leg room. I think i am going to switch to my dads nissan sentra becuase it feels much better with leg room, and more space. So i am just curios, does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

    • @blamb1533
      @blamb1533 Год назад

      i am also a new driver with my first car being a matrix. im not nearly as tall as you, im around 5 foot 7 and i feel like if i was any taller there would not be enough leg room. i have the seat as far back as possible, and like i said, if i was any taller there would not be enough leg room for me. the leg room is one of the only flaws on this car (in my opinion ofc) i hope your dads sentra is working better for you!

    • @michaeltrindade7225
      @michaeltrindade7225 Год назад

      @blamb I have gotten a bit more used to the matrix as I drove it a few more times, but I need to be sitting up perfectly stright. The sentra feels just about the same legroom wise as the matrix. I guess I am just to tall, lol.

      You get in any of these older foreign econo cars and you realize immediately what race of people made them. I dont mean this in a negative way its just the reality that these were designed and manufactured by Japanese people. Im also 6'2" and its a pleasant surprise when its NOT a squeeze to get into one. Its the tradeoff for reliable useable simplified engineering
