Hey, that vase at 4:44 is my 3D printed creation :D
Since the flower bit was waaayy to heavy for the "blaster" to be held in an upright position, I wanted to build something where you can store the flower and use the accessory separately.
Post here if anyone needs one, I can hook you up with it!

Perfuma had a great design in SPoP, I would say better than the original style guide. A "hippie" chick is more apt for Perfuma IMO.

I think this figure turned out real good.while definitely the most girly looking she still looked like she could put up a fight in a battle.I also see her as Etheria's answer to moss man and using her powers to make giant flower covered vines grow to entrap opponents as well as createl plant life anywhere.

I think they could have played more with the density of the plastic, as we have seen really soft malleable plastics used in later figures. The Classics Perfuma was so bulky and "hard" considering the character. I wish more thought had gone into her design and engineering to slim the figure down and soften her up. Her eyes were also not stamped onto the sculpt properly making it look like she had wrinkles...just not a great execution IMO.

I keep thinking back to when Perfuma was imprisoned in the Fright Zone and how she wasnt fazed one minute. Then I think to myself, what if Perfuma wasn't this ditzy character who was unaware of her dire circumstances? What if she was deliberately acting that way to punish and torment Hordak for having her kidnapped? If that's the case then no one should mess with Perfuma. She's dangerous. Lol.

I'm not a huge fan of the 2018 She-Ra reboot either and it's certainly not my She-Ra. However, it brought in a lot of new younger fans, some of whom became MotU fans. And that's a good thing for the brand.
Besides, Perfuma actually stayed closer to her vintage Filmation design than many of the other characters. The bubbly hippie girl personality is similar as well. Yes, Perfuma is lesbian and possibly trans in the new She-Ra, but the Filmation show never addressed her sexual orientation at all.
But while I understand that you don't care for the 2018 She-Ra, I don't know why you have to keep complaining about it either. And besides, if the 2018 She-Ra had already been around during the Classics era, you would have had yet another look for the Princess of Power character to do in Classics and potentially a chance to sell more toys, which would be a win for everybody.
Masterverse is slow to do Princess of Power characters, but maybe they will eventually do looks inspired by the 2018 cartoon. The Masterverse She-Ra already comes with a 2018 inspired cape.

From what I understand, they'd originally intended for it to just be She-Ra and Catra. The higher ups said no to that, so they just kinda started working their way through the background characters before making them lesbians anyhow after they were too far into the show to be stopped. Also, IIRC Perfuma was also trans. Thinking about it, I think the only heterosexuals were Glimmer's parents, Glimmer/Bow, and Seahawk/Mermista, and the latter... definitely did NOT keep with traditional gender roles. Hell, the Horde soldiers (Kevin, Lonny, and Rauhulio) ended the series as a thruple that adopted that weird Hordak baby thing...
      Oh, and Hordak/Entrapta, also hetero.
Honestly, as someone with no emotional attachment to the original series, I thought it was fine. The series had always been a power fantasy that the queer community latched on to, and the remake just kind of took that ball and ran with it... straight home.
Real interesting that Scott's bagging on the show now, given he was decidedly... not, while it was more recent. I look forward to his revisionist evisceration of Revelations in a few years.

@@ccggenius The higher ups actually didn't say no, they didn't ask for permission until the second production season, when they submitted scripts/storyboards. DW agreed that the story was better if we got "the gay version". There were visual cues that background characters were lesbians from the beginning--Ray Geiger, one of the character designers, gave Spinnerella and Netossa each other's necklaces, for instance, but they had plausible deniability. They also designed Perfuma to be a trans woman, yeah, though that wasn't really canon so much as a design detail. Glimmer, Bow, Sea Hawk, and Mermista are all bi-coded (blushing at people of their own gender when they do something hot, etc.), but I believe only Sea Hawk is canonically bi, his ex showing up in season 5.
The Horde trio, Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio, did NOT end the series as a throuple. A lot of people headcanon it for sure, but only Kyle/Rogelio was confirmed, and they didn't adopt Imp so much as kidnap him, lol. Their "ship name" is actually one of the best imo, "RepKyle". It's fun.
Totally agree with your other points, and the spirit of the comment. Seems to me Scott's tune changed after SPOP ended, almost like he didn't like that they were gay... but no, surely not... we all know he's so tolerant and accepting 🤔

The show generally was not received well by fans of MOTU and classic She-Ra fans. It was more geared towards fans of Steven Universe or current gen YA novels. Those expecting something resembling the original She-Ra show and canon were disappointed. There's a reason the series never got more seasons and the toys didn't sell.

    • @lycaonpictus77
      @lycaonpictus77 23 дня назад

@@RidiculousThoughts Oh? Every fan of the original She-Ra I've seen comment on SPOP adored it, although I guess you're right that it was geared more towards children, given that it was explicitly a children's cartoon, lol. But I have to correct you: It *did* get more seasons (either 1 or 4 depending on if you take Netflix at their word). I'd argue the reason the toys 'didn't sell' was because after Target pulled out of the exclusivity deal following the poor returns on their most recent DC girls line, Mattel phoned slashed the marketing budget. As evidenced by the continued after-market value for every single one of the dolls alone is insanely high, despite their poor quality--Catra alone goes for $250 minimum.
I'm not sure I'm understanding this as a response to OP's question, though. Do you mean that Scott is trying to virtue signal to those who were disappointed?

Another reason for the disliking of the new she ra show was the creators of it dismissing fans of the classic filmation show accusing them of only watching the show to"fap off to the girls who all liked like models".they acted like they didn't want long-time fans to watch it.also because they took well established and beloved characters and turned the bulk of them gay as part of an "agenda".some felt if they wanted to do a show about super powered lesbians they should've done their own characters not go and makeover established ones to fit their narrative.
