I am still waiting for the CFL to go to a metric football field! LOL I won't hate, my message here is in how to make good pizza, the same pizza more than once. It is the industry way. Thank You Maplecook!
@@PaulieDetmurds You made me look that up about the CFL! I haven't watched a game since...ohhhhhh, 1981 or so. lol Oh, I totally get your way of making pizza; it's totally the RIGHT way, and -- in your words -- the industry way. That said, my way of doing this is the Marverick's way...many would say, "Heretic's," way. haha Hugs! =)
@@Maplecook My CFL team is the Hamilton Tiger Cats,...love that team. I get what you mean, it is always nice to do some freelance pizza making! Thanks Buddy!
@@PaulieDetmurds In all honesty -- as one pizza enthusiast to another -- I deeply respect your commitment to the craft, man. People who don't make pizza with their own hands, don't understand the passion. I loved hearing you talk about the feel of the dough. It's so true...but in my case, I haaaaaaate kneading, and that's why I decided years ago that I would buy my stand mixer. I would rather be hit in the head with a shovel, than knead dough. lol So for me, it's more about LOOKING at the dough, to know where it is in its development. When I was starting out, I always tried to time it, and gave myself anxiety by always checking the clock. Now, I just look at it, and can tell what's going on with it. But I totally get you, man. There's a real love that springs forth from the heart, when you're making a pizza. It transcends the concept of, "this is delicious," and becomes more an activity that stirs the soul. And when you nail it, you bask in the afterglow of a job well done. That's why I make pizza, anyway. Cheers, man!
@@Maplecook absolutely loved this comment here. I know that you know exactly what you are doing and saying when it comes to food. Yes, I forgot to mention that the look is obvious when the dough has been kneaded long enough. I do have my kitchen aide mixer, but just love the art of hand working it. I am considering on getting an industrial size mixer sometime soon? So, what am I really up to? LOL Yes, one should do what works for them. This is just some basics for those who ask 'why can't I make it like last time'? Thanks Brother, You Rock, and Go Red Wings! LOL Cheers!
Oh I'm not good at recording things. I never remember how I made something lol. I agree with know your equipment. And that's really with any recipe. Not just pizza. Ovens are not all the same. You know, I've never really given pizza a lot of time. I've not even done an overnight dough. I should definitely give that a try sometime. Yeah the handling rule seems to be kind of the same for a lot of breads/pastries. Over needing can mess with it. Nice tip to use a little cold water or olive oil if it's sticking to your fingers. Yeah. Many will say you should always weigh your ingredients. I never do 😬 I can guarantee that I've never made two pizzas the same lol. Thanks for sharing your expertise on this subject. Never hurts to get good tips on how to make a good pizza.
Well, not an expert, but really love doing pizza! We all have our ways of doing most anything, including pizza, and I respect that. Just kind some tips on how to do it consistently. I thank You as always for the best comments!
All valid points!
And, you're gonna HATE the way I make pizza. hahahaha!
Applause for your endorsement of the metric system!!
