Why How We Treat Women is How we Treat the Earth: A Conversation with Doula Ivy Joeva

#MeToo Earth: Natural Birth, EcoFeminism, and the Earth are all connected. Birth, midwifery and environmentalism don't seem to have much in common... or do they? In this conversation with doula Ivy, we get excited about the intersectionality of how we treat women, natural birth and natural birth stories, with how we treat the Earth. Why are there so many planned and/or mandatory C-sections? What is informed consent? Does hospital birth need its own #MeToo movement? We go into natural birth vs epidurals, midwifery and doula experiences, all to get at the root of what is at the root of the high maternal mortality rate in the United States.
