The first time I fasted was years ago. It was mind boggling to NOT eat especially when you felt dizzy! (later learned that was me detoxifying) Though the best advice I would give myself if I’d go back is that one must work up to any type of fast-meaning go low carb for several months then remove the wheat carbs. Try removing one meal from your day. There’s so much to learn. The most restrictive IMHO would be dry or water fast. I’ve only done water for 5 days. And I do that once a year. Getting through any level of fast is really powerful! Figure out the WHY first then choose the type of fast. Every body is different so be careful. Thanks for the video Dr. Livingood 😊

Dr. Livingood... how can I lower my chronically elevated cortisol levels... that keep my blood sugar (and insulin) high (converting muscle to glucose)... and not allowing fat metabolism or autophagy even when I am fasting ?
So I’ve watched several videos of yours discussing the benefits of fasting (and love them! Thank you for your dedication and passion!) In three different videos, you mention the study done stating you can still have some calories in a fasted state and still get the benefits. But you stated 50, 100 and 200 calories is the limit. Please clarify which one is correct. Tia!

Im also on medication every day Abilify, Gabapentin and Alprazolam. Also Hydrochlorothiazide. All of which, I want to be off or even rid of the side effects of years of these. Any recommendations?
