@@ArchadesGames I hope the next time you use the updated version (2.5) so that you can show off some of the other options, especially for those who want to compare with Redump. Settings for days :D
Thank you, this method worked! Unlike imgburn which just didnt want to detect my drive. Can I do think with my ps1 games and play them off my HDD on my PS2 with free mcboot?
PS1 games can be dumped with the MPF but you can also use the PC version of Retroarch to do it. PS1 through OPL is possible but has many errors and issues.
Does this work on import games too Japanese PS2 games in specific? Or would you know if I need anything specific for it to work too? Since the discs are region locked.
I tried this but it keeps saying "please input drive offset (samples)" and asks for me to put something in and I don't know what to put in I feel like whatever I do it's just not gonna work. any help would be appreciated.
So once i have the file dowloaded and open pcsx2 it plays no issue but once the file is transferred to sd card it will not play it or says its not in PlayS format... Any help with that?
So, if you don't have one of those "designated" optical drives to get the game into your PC, will it give errors or make the dumped game display a wrong version? Or can I get one of those external DVD readers so I can dump it into my PC?
How does this method differ from other backup methods? Not in the process, seems faster and better than using imgbrn, I mean in a practical sense. What are the differences in the dumps?
CD backup with MPF requires very specific drives. For general backup and use using the PC version of Retroarch gives great results with minimal fuss. ruclips.net/video/-Hr2POZ9kLA/видео.htmlsi=9y4bt8y8ya1movC6
Well, didn't expect to see my frontend in a video. Thanks for the spotlight!
It is amazing work, how can it not be shown off! Thank you for a fantastic program that makes backing things up far easier than ever for everyone!

So important to make sure all games stay preserved. This is a great method, thanks for spreading it!
Thanks a million for this guide! I just think it's super neat *just* how simple it is to backup DVD-based games nowadays. You love to see it! :)
I'm glad it is so much more approachable to get proper backups!
You definitely deserve a thumbs up!
Thank you so much!
Happy weekend Ryan !
Have a good one ufoguy!

External works

Hello, thanks for this update video in your old video you also use maxcso32 is that still up to date or unnecessary?
You can use that or convert them to CHD if you are hoping to save space.

Any DVD drive will work for DVD based games. CD stuff needs a specific drive to guarantee a good rip.
Great video like always but has anyone else been experiencing psxc2 issues on retroarch for Xbox dev mode?
Don't use Retroarch for ps2
@@ArchadesGames it was working before? What happened and what do you recommend me use now
Use Xbsx2

Won't be super different in most cases. It's a redump tool so it should be more accurate overall.
Hey, how do you dump a ps1 disc with MPF? I'm checking the wiki and it doesn't really give a solid answer.

is there any difference between using MPF and ImgBurn?
MPF will be a more accurate copy
DIscImageCreator/Redumper will give more metadata about the disc.
Does anyone know if a Translation patch can be applied once the game is backed up? any info is much appreciated. Thanks!
Yes, if there is a translation patch available you apply it to the image you create
Thank You! Awesome video btw, appreciate the help @@ArchadesGames
