I just ordered this - I have handwritten notes from my mother - I found enough "loves you" to make each of my siblings a charm. Thanks for reviewing this.
Thanks Lindsey! FYI Everyone!!!! If you have birds in your home be sure that they are no where near where you resin!!! Things that are odorless to us can still cause death in your birds. Same idea as Teflon and scented candles. Work in a different room, that is well ventilated and does not have an air intake return. I would be great broken if any of my bird parents suffered a tragedy. Love to you all!!!!! This project kit looks amazing!!!!
This process will be perfect for making my own vintage charms to hang from the spines of the junk journals that I make. I'll add a bead or two, a jewelry finding and then suspend the cluster on a piece of narrow ribbon or cord. Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Lol, I fully understand! I have put everything possible in resin. I prefer the uv over epoxy because it cures so fast but epoxy is better for bigger projects. I find myself thinking about unique ways to use it all the time 🤣
I love watching your videos and your reviews on products have helped me so much over the years: I knew what to expect and that way I could make good purchases and not waste my money on things that wouldn't work for me :) I know that this resin says that it is non toxic, but I was curious at what the safety sheet says. I have worked with resins that claim to be non toxic once they are fully cured, but they are not non-toxic in the uncured form or during the curing process and they release hazardous fumes. A lot of safety data sheets even say to use a respirator and work in a well ventilated area, but they don't express that on the box--which is what most people only read. I thought I would mention it, because a lot of people have expressed health issues due to using resin without the proper safety gear.
I love the three flower pendants in the center of the thumbnail! If I saw them at a booth, I'd snatch up at least one of them. Thank you for the video! ❤️
That kit is lovely! I've been UV resuming for a few years now and I have all the essentials otherwise I'd go for the kit. Warning, this particular craft is addictive! Lately I've been using free photo apps & collage apps on my phone, getting high quality photos done, cutting them down, coating them in UV resin and making jewellery, tags, ornaments etc with family photos. I'm also going to set the little prints in a journal cover mold I have but I need to but a larger UV light first. I use UV resin to coat my polymer clay things and also setting my mini art into things. Honestly, there is so much!❤️❤️ Fantastic video, thank you x Ooh, air bubbles, you can give it a short blast with a gentle heat gun - that pops them.
@@recoveringsoul755 Some people use a lighter over their resin to pop bubbles but I've never been brave enough. In my experience, a gentle heat gun, like the Tim Holtz one, does the trick perfectly.
@@powerdroidgirl I've seen people use heat guns to cure polymer clay if it's something small, like food for a dollhouse or something not too big or thick
Thanks, I’ve been curious about UV resin. For epoxy resin, I use a seed warmer mat with a thermostat to cure it at a good temperature, and a little picnic food ‘tent’ for the cat hair ☺️. I have a similar situation that there are maybe 4 or 5 months a year when my craft room temperature is warm long enough to complete the cure.
This was so fun!!! Why do I always forget I can dye fabric with inktense?! I was starting to run out of pretty seam binding colors, now I can just make my own! Woo hoo! Thanks, Lindsay!!
I can’t wait to order this kit. I’ve been watching tons of resin videos. I’m the type of person who wants to do something big and complicated even though I’ve never used resin!😂 So when I saw this video I knew this is probably the best thing to ease me into the whole resin world. I love the ribbon you made! Thx for the tutorial because I definitely want to make some. They are so beautiful especially with the dainty flowers. Love love love the ones with real flowers. All of them are gorgeous. ❤️
WOW! I was so happy to see you making jewelry, Lindsay! They all look so beautiful and dainty which I love. I love the tiny flower jewelry the most. Tfs.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I'm going to get this for my daughter to do. She loves all and everything crafty. I'm sure I'll have fun with her too. Have a great day
I’m new to resin and I bought a bunch of supplies to use uv resin. In my research several resin users recommend using a respirator style mask with filters, because it can make you sick. I assume the people getting sick use resin often, but I didn’t want to take any chances and got a mask.
@@recoveringsoul755 it’s all resin types according to videos I’ve watched. My plan is to use a uv light to set any resin that’s left on disposable things like tooth picks and paper towels before throwing them in the trash. My spouse developed an allergy and is worried about resin so I’m trying to be careful for their sake as well.
Fantastic video. I’ve watched tutorials by resin artists that aren’t as informative as this, so thank you, you’ve inspired me to drag my resin materials out of my craft stash to give it another try x
This is my second Lindsay made me do it impulse purchase of the month 😂 This looks really cool, I'm probably going to try to make some gifts for my niece and also combine with beach glass.
Just as an FYI, beach glass tends to disappear in resin 🫥 Any of the pieces that are hard to see in water also don’t show up in resin. I got a UV resin kit for my last birthday & then went beach combing later that day. Added beach glass to some pendant trays and discovered that the resin makes the pieces hard to see. Opaque glass would probably work but definitely not the frosted translucent kind.
Uv resin is soooo fun!!!! Also you can get some uv gloves for your daughter or cut the finger tips off some cheap/old gloves so you can protect her hand when she does gel nails
I have only recently tried playing with resin crafts, am going to try grab this set it looks so much easier than epoxy and when you said 'no smell' that sold it for me, I loved the creations you made Lindsay, thanks for sharing.xx

The finished pendants and earrings are beautiful! I've been wanting to try something different from card making, and this looks like it would be so much fun to do with girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. Easy to do, great results and lots of bang for your buck. Quick question: with several layers of resin, how heavy do the earrings seem to be? I'm off to Amazon to check it out. Thanks so much for the inspiring video, Lindsay!
OH EM GEEEE! Ordering! I have a whole bunch of stuff for resin that I purchased earlier this year and haven't touched. I have some of the 2-part resin that I bought over a year ago, too. How do I know if it went bad already? Also, I have seen resin artists use a small blow torch, a cooking torch or one of those long candle lighters to get rid of the bubbles in the 2-part resin. Would those help with the bubbles in the UV resin or would that start a fire? LOL!
Fun project! I'd never been tempted by resin before as epoxy is such a pain, but this looks very easy. Bonus is that you get a UV light so that I could even try gel nails. 🙂 What width of seam binding did you use? It's perfect with the floral pendants. Now I really need the Derwent ink blocks.
Hey Lindsay, thank you. for this video. I have the molds, the findings, Tumble dyes for ribbons, resin and uv resin. I think I'm ready to tackle my own little resin crafting. I have had my resins for >6 months, I was going to try it anyway. Should I? You vid was uber informative and interesting. I learned so much and am raring to go. XOXOJANE
As long as your resin isn't hard it's fine to use. When resin goes bad it hardens in the bottle. There is no mistaking it:) now use it up while it's still good!
The blue tape isn't just packing tape. When you unroll packing tape, you get lines from where the adhesive bunches together where it stops. Those marks will end up leaving marks in your piece if you use it with resin. This kind if tape is supposed to eliminate or reduce that.
If you use a waterproof glaze or mod podge on both sides of the tiny painting it works! I use several coats to make sure the resin doesn't seem through and ruin it, and do a small sample first with whatever glaze you have around. I like to print photos of my paintings and glaze them well on both sides since I don't paint that small!
I've always wanted to try resin jewelry. This kit looks great. I wonder how the bottle of resin would do if it sat in a 110+ degree mailbox or by the front door?

How do I know if it went bad already? Also, I have seen resin artists use a small blow torch, a cooking torch or one of those long candle lighters to get rid of the bubbles in the 2-part resin. Would those help with the bubbles in the UV resin or would that start a fire? LOL!
If your resin is bad it will be hard. If it's still liquid it's a-ok! The torch would probably work. A person in comments said a heat gun does too.
Fun project! I'd never been tempted by resin before as epoxy is such a pain, but this looks very easy. Bonus is that you get a UV light so that I could even try gel nails. 🙂
What width of seam binding did you use? It's perfect with the floral pendants. Now I really need the Derwent ink blocks.
1/4"
@@thefrugalcrafter Thanks!
Your resin creations turned out so well, and are much, much better than my clumsy attempts. 😂
I saw yours and I wonder if it is the resin quality. You said yours smelled and mine had no smell so it might be different quality
@@thefrugalcrafter It’s possible I guess! Most likely I just am good at making a mess, haha. Love the pendants ❤️
Run a lighter over the resin to pop any bubbles.
Thanks!
A heat gun, hair dryer or a spritz of alcohol might work as well.
Oh, thanks!
You have to use it up in 6m once opend??? You can also put your mold on a mirror to help cure it through
This is sooo cool. Do you think you could paint a tiny watercolor picture and put it in one of the frames? Would the resin ruin it?
If you use a waterproof glaze or mod podge on both sides of the tiny painting it works! I use several coats to make sure the resin doesn't seem through and ruin it, and do a small sample first with whatever glaze you have around. I like to print photos of my paintings and glaze them well on both sides since I don't paint that small!
@@rebekahmckeithan6132 Awesome!
I getting that thing right now
I've always wanted to try resin jewelry. This kit looks great. I wonder how the bottle of resin would do if it sat in a 110+ degree mailbox or by the front door?
I'd ask the company before ordering.
That was awesome
Very nice!!!
Great video and tips❣️❤️🇺🇸
