This is a really cool idea, unfortunately the timing of the clicks rely on the timing of the previous click which makes it not very rhythm based. If there was a way to reset to a fixed setup before each click it would work.
Tride, you're my favorite gd youtuber. You're so creative and entertaining and watching you build levels/challenges is very interesting and cool to watch especially with your extremely smooth voice. Tride is the perfect gd youtuber.
Because of your minercaft series now, for some reason i dont find these GD videos to be the same now xd, theyre not worse, or better but i just dont have the same feeling now, not in a bad way tho
finally someone making a clicksynced level? i've always been making those actually, and never seen anyone else do so, so this is a huge surprise for me. also, you don't have to use mostly orbs to make your level clicksynced, normal jumps work nice enough too
Honestly, having more levels like this would make the game a LOT more fun for me and probably a lot of other people! 😄 Very creative idea and fun video too!
Gd is just like an honorary rhythm where it can be a true rhythm game but can also be a platformer, or knowing what those madlads can make probably a calculator
"okay i'm done working on this adofai level i'm making for today, time to watch this gd video" "compared to games like a dance of fire and ice-" "OH GODDAMMIT"
this is definitely more of a rhythm game than geometry dash is personally i think GD is more of a skill game than a rhythm but this puts a spin on the game people know and change it to a bit more of a focus on knowledge and memorisation on whats coming up
with rob's lines, they might be off due to audio or input offset. there's no calibration system in the game so if anyone had offset issues, there's no way to account for it
@@Tomplayg17 yeah but how do you calibrate it? Like every creator has his own audio offset so doesn't matter how much do you calibrate, it always will end with some levels being not synched anyways (sorry for bad english)
would be fun to see an adofai map literally translated into gd. adofai is way easier to read for fast patterns especially but maybe if there are recognizable orb groups you could achieve the same effect in gd
I feel like if it really was a rhythm game every level would just be a showcase of decoration that you have yo click during since you creators probably won't need to put much effort into the layout
This is something I’ve done like 1-2 years ago, but instead of focusing on beats I just want to make levels with orb only, still the gameplay of both (this level and mine) are very similiar. Never thought i would see this concept again, I might go back and revisit it.
Dude, top comment gets it. We need a way to select fixed orb jump positions. I've always been making sync layouts and that is EXACTLY what I've always wanted/needed.
it is a platformer game. The only reason some may argue that it is a rythym game is that the main levels sync up to the song, but that is something that the people choose to do themself. It doesn't have to sync at all
I’m not gonna lie I always assumes that the jumps in geometry dash were synced, but now that I see what it actually looks liked synced, I feel a little dumb lol
I do this for my own sync levels but I think using 2 player mode and have the player hit player one and two at the same time when things like a drum or a loud note is played.
agreed. theres one thing about rhythm games he didnt consider: the ability to sight read. this level is really only possible with prior GD skill and already knowing how the song goes. plus, most rhythm games benefit you with accuracy and timing, thats really hard to do in GD. its just not really possible to make GD a standard rhythm game.
@@womp47 that's not why. sightreading isn't a factor in being a rhythm game at all. take NotITG for example. it's a rhythm game, but sightreading is near impossible. geometry dash is actually not a rhythm game because there is no way to tell if a click was accurate or not, and there's no way to say a click was accurate. in a rhythm game, every timing is usually exactly the same. if geometry dash was made to not kill you but to show how accurately you clicked to the clicks in the level, it could be considered a rhythm game.
I'm not saying anything but is it just me who remembered "Orbit" by Mindcap and more? Like, is just orb and movements... Btw I really like this style of gameplay 😌
I’d imagine this as a difficult level with a pink/yellow orb locked to x and y axis and then you’d have to go through tight spaces, then you couldn’t buffer anything, but wouldn’t have to time it late. Maybe you could use toggle triggers to toggle different orbs, just an idea.
YES! FINALLY! So why does ropbtop still "market" GD as a rhythm game? On the steam page it says it's a rhythm game, but I've never felt GD is a rhythm game.

GD isn't actually a rhythm game, It's more of a platformer.
I just noticed that the genre of GD is a *rhythm based action platformer*
That's the point
So in some sort of way, it is a rhythm game, just not the typical “set-in-stone” rhythm games like Osu, or Taiko no Tatsujin, or Project Diva.
Action? I dont see any weapons! 😂(sorry)

ah yes action platformer

Gd is just like an honorary rhythm where it can be a true rhythm game but can also be a platformer, or knowing what those madlads can make probably a calculator
A calculator is suprisingly not that complicated relative to what people have done with the game so
They’ve already done a graphing calculator, full 3D rendering, geometry dash within geometry dash, and a whole fleshed out programming language
