3.0 Evo is a modification of 3.0. However, 4.0 with the next generation battery is also coming in August. It will be interesting to see if the Evo updates are applied to existing 3.0 vehicles. Also mentioned in the meeting: New, more efficient, faster switching SiC power electronics. Electronic dimming sunroof. HUD. And they have a new-generation, in-house developed DiLink Level 2 ADAS system using an in-house developed 6nm processor. Also, the most expensive Sea Lion costs less than the least expensive Model Y in China. And BYD now has more than 102k engineers in R&D, significantly more than any other automaker, and more than all US-based OEMs combined (including Tesla).
Good video Sam. I think one thing between the two different cars that I found is that the BYD and more solid and heavier and a little bit better built than the Tesla which I think affects Range and efficiency. The biggest issue BYD have at the moment is the software on the first generation into Australia not able to charge with Tesla charging stations.
Bingo. The Y feels and sounds flimsy. Creaks and rattles everywhere. Seats are stiff and uncomfortable. More relevantly Tesla has a terrible reputaion for systemic steering and handling failures.
Hi mate. I think it would be interesting to do a POLL for all your followers. Which brand has the most street cred out of BYD and Tesla, and which brand would they buy if it was down to the two of them for a like for like car. It's all good and well for BYD to level pricing with Tesla and give similar cars, but for me personally, a car brand that's called 'build your dreams", I don't see any cred in the eyes of the western world...IMO. Thanks
I’d assume anyone comparing the two would know the difference. The Song L is a much higher specced vehicle with more features and a class or two above this.
Sea Lion has more sporty styling and tuning, starting at $26k with its top spec coming in at $33k, below the least expensive Model Y (starting at $36k up to 51k+ in China). Song L is a little softer, with more conservative stying, slightly more luxyry-focused features and can be optioned to top out at a slightly higher $35k price point. Denza N7 has even more premium positioning and starts at $33k up to $46k. The vehicles are similar and undoubtedly share some components. But, by tailoring them to different consumer preferences, you don't have to have a compromised vehicle that is trying to please everybody.
@@larryevans6739 I think you’re a little confused on the styling. The Song L is much more sleek and sporty and performance oriented while the Sea Lion 07 is the reserved, more basic styling.
Even BYD doesn't use their new blade battery, I have no confidence Tesla will use the new Shenxing in their juniper. That battery is already announced last summer yet nobody is using it. Something must be wrong here
It's not easy to ramp a new battery product to supply an established high scale line. There will be a slow transition, probably higher end models first. Investment economics of manufacturing line must be considered.
One thing I learned about EV’s since owning a model 3 is that range projections are bullsh__ . In real world driving you get 30% less than what’s advertised. Also savings on petrol is also very subjective. I would recommend not buying an EV if it’s your only family car. You are better off with a hybrid
O man no way. I would recommend getting an EV if you can charge at home. Most have no idea how convenient the is. Also 30 % is worse cause one the highway. As long as your commute is 100 miles (one way) or less I think you’re good to go.
Why has the insurance premium gone up well it’s down to electric cars and the traction battery pack. If an electric car has been in a road traffic accident the insurance company will write the electric cars off as they feel the traction battery pack has been damaged and the reason for this is down to the fact that the traction battery pack forms part of the electric cars chassis and so as far as the insurance company is concerned the traction battery pack has been under stress and has been compromised during the road traffic accident. So to compensate for this the car insurance companies are loading up everybody’s insurance premium petrol/ diesel and hybrids alike.
Battery range is no longer the issue. It's lack of super charging network ubiquity along with EVs to match. Try getting 300 km on a full tank of petrol. You will be lucky and yet foolish to try, because you will be near empty if you do.
Give it 10 years and the petrol heads will be the ones worrying (and no doubt complaining) about the lack of petrol stations. Petrol stations are slowly starting to migrate to electric and I'm here for it.

Mid 2024 and still an underrated channel with 212k subs. Appreciate all the work you do Sam.
After four months (and at the moment of I wrote this comment), this channel has 239K subs and this number would increase.

Seems to be going in estate car style with a slantycoupe style back. Like seal estate
it charges much faster than cars that charge slower.
it is definitely a game changer with watts per kilo built in.
Lo quiero iva a comprar el seal u, pero me quedo con este ,cuando viene a España
The only one i would get is the hatchback too many cars are now oversized
So the usable capacity of the Seal long range is 80.6kWh? So the 82.5kWh is the gross capacity?
Delusion is clearly in the eye of the beholder
It's simply much better then Tesla model Y.
