  • Animal crossings are not new to us at the Jay Estate. Our park teems with amazing wildlife including this coyote seen crossing the viewway behind the Jay piazza. Wild animals like this should be observed from a respectful distance of course. Follow these simple rules for peaceful co-habitation with these animals in your own backyard - be armed with knowledge to discourage them from coming too close:
    1) Secure garbage containers. Put out trash containers on the morning of pickup, not the night before.
    2) Trim & remove any ground-level shrubs that provide hiding places or den sites for coyotes or their prey.
    3) Feed your pets inside and never leave them unattended, especially at dusk and dawn when coyotes are most active. Do not put out food or water for feral cats.
    4) Bird feeders that attract rodents and birds may also attract coyotes drawn to prey. Keep feeders far away from house.
