Thank you. I kinda knew all of what you stated when I was fighting advanced prostate cancer. For some reason this video was a little close to the nerve now that they just found a brain tumor. I guess I am still trying to gear up for the battle again. Your positive nature is a godsend. In some ways just hearing your cheerful voice is as important as what you say. Please hug your boyfriend and puppy for me. I will do the same with my wife and our two Airedale’s for you🙏❤️

My mother was just diagnosed with metastatic cancer a week ago and I’m still trying to process everything. I’ve already cried my eyes out many times. I’m now trying to remain strong for her and my family. Thank you for all of your suggestions, I’m not as lost anymore!

The best thing I did for my friend that was dealing with cancer was just try and give her a smile. I always joked about some of the things I had happen to me in the hospital. From my bad hair days after my brain surgeries to some crazy things done in therapy and to some strange questions the doctors asked. The craziest question I was asked in the hospital after having a big seizure ( the cause was I caught Viral meningitis.) was the doctor asked do you no where you are. I don’t remember that much because of the drugs they gave me. But they said I looked around the room for a little bit and then back at the doctor and said. “ Well I no one thing. This sure ain’t heaven. “ They all started laughing and said that’s one for the books.

All great advice for those who are newly diagnosed . One thing that really helps someone who has been in the fight for awhile, is very down to earth things like paying their electric bill or house keeper etc. The longer you have been fighting, sometimes ten years or more, the needs change. Often I hear from women in my group say, they feel forgotten. The world goes on and yet many are still in the fight. Many long time sufferers have lost their homes due to the loss of jobs or income. One woman recently shared she had to cash out her retirement to pay for medical. So when considering how to support, make sure and look at the persons journey, how long they have had cancer. Also look a little beyond what is being said for way to help support.

Such positive, amazing advice for people who know anyone going through cancer but are too afraid to ask what to do or how to act without being awkward. You never want to make the cancer patient feel like a cancer patient when they're with you, so I'd just say to pretend that they're not even sick...and just do something nice because you want to do it.

Mags, I love this video. I am particularly unsure about how to stay connected with a friend who has been in treatment for almost two months. Before the diagnosis, I often sent funny memes and videos to make her laugh. I can only imagine how exhausted she must be right now, since she has a family/village of caregivers and SO many friends competing for her time. She has often said of people in her life, "They just can't get enough of me." She needs tons of rest and sleep just to catch up. So, on the one hand, I am glad she is taking the time she need to heal and focus on recovery. On the other hand, I always feel like it would be an intrusion just to text her an emoji to let her know I am still in her corner. How much is too much?

I don't think its too much of an intrusion! I can understand that it is overwhelming when everyone wants to help out. I often felt like I was constantly having to respond to people when they asked me what I needed. However, I just took my time with answering them, but knowing that they were thinking about me made my feel very loved. So if they don't answer you right away, or at all for the time being, just know that they appreciate it a lot!

This is such a great video idea! I'm sending this to all my friends who don't know how to help and are asking for suggestions. I was diagnosed with ALL two weeks ago and am starting the whole process and trying to document some of it here!

There is no proof that it could increase your risk of cancer; however, exposure to too much radiation is not good for anyone
