Impressionnant!
Thank you for sharing this, I did this on the Eurostar in July 08 and only had a camera, so it was beautiful to experience this and see it all over again, I'm saving this one to watch over again, thanks from Western Australia 🇦🇺👍 You sat on the same side of the carriage, so the same view.

20 minutes to Ashford?! Living on the SEML it really is a different world- 20 minutes gets me just outside of London to Sevenoaks, Ashford being 90 minutes from CX! (Yes I've been on the Javelin but even then that takes 30 minutes)
if im on this trip, expect when im in that tunnel, ill be sound asleep. cuz tbf its boring. yh ur under the water. but it gets boring quite quickly. cuz there is nothin to see. i just take the plane
Nope, 3999 has been used a lot lately due to the shortfall in some sets while the last sets get their refurbishment. With so many scrapped now, very few left and the recent set transferred to Thalys' low cost brand IZY, its becoming quite regular to see 3999 in service.
The journey time is 2 hours 15 minutes at 186mph, and I can tell from the clock that the train left at roughly 2:20pm. IT would've arrived in Paris at around 4:40pm UK or 5:40pm FR, extra few minutes because of the stop at Ashford. Trains in both the UK and France are on the left.
So they just rebuilt the E300s that hey have, and they are selling them? And after they knew they were gonna get rid of them? What kind of dumb stuff is eurostar? They replaced the lights, screens, and intirriors. Why are they still trowing them away?
Most of the original Eurostar trains were scrapped, but a relatively small amount (8 or so) including this one were refurbished to this condition and rebranded as E300s, and remain in service alongside the "new" E320s. I think that's right anyway
Two original, non-renovated, Eurostars TMST are being leased to Izy, the cheap sub-brand of Thalys (Paris - Bruxelles) The refurbished units are kept by Eurostar. Other units have been scrapped.
My parents and I took this trip two years ago in the late summer. It was so beautiful seeing the French countryside

Didn't realise they have the same auxiliary sounds as a class 465 /365

@jefftheseagull lol true , it's been like that for years tbh. Everyone sais that 🤣

Have you done the London to Amsterdam route?

Its practical, in England its relatively flat land but in France there’s quite a few steep gradients that the 373 struggles with at certain times.
