Host and Creator - Simon Cade Кино
You are a star. very motivating and inspiring. Thanks
Noah Reynolds you haven't turned on replies on your comment, but yes I did write the intro music!
hi simon- which video editing software do you prefer for mac or pc windows 8
either final cut pro x or adobe creative cloud. although adobe is too expensive for me, so I use final cut
DSLRguide what about Edius pro or cyberlink powerdirector, are they good?
i've never used them, i'm afraid. i'd recommend searching for some reviews on youtube
DSLRguide thank you mate, you are a really nice person.
Two years later and now you're at 400,000 subscribers. Thank you so much for your no-nonsense, very informative videos!
This is a huge commitment dedicated to filmmaking that I can see from you. That's really inspiring, Simon! Thanks for things you've done. Keep up the great work.
Congrats Simon!
Upload defaults and tagging for relevant videos of the same channel! GREAT advice as I kept copying/pasting descriptions! LOL! You've come a long way since this video celebrating 10K subs. Way to go, Simon! Keep on shooting.
I like the "simple and beautiful" approach in all your videos rather than the high octane intro, graphics and stuff, which makes your videos look premium and of high quality. Keep up the good work mate :)
Your channel has grown so much, awesome job dude!
Simon your channel was one of the first that actually helped me, I am trying to start a weekly show and your videos have really helped me prepare for it.
I just wanted to thank you for making my life a little brighter each day. Your videos help me believe in myself and my dreams. The only advice I can give is KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING!
Big respect to you, man. Just subbed yesterday and have already learned so much!
Congrats on 10k!! Can't wait to see what you have in store for the year to come :D
Seems like 2015 has been a big year for your, since you got much more subscribers! I joined 2015 and i'm always happy when a new video goes live! Its really helping me out. Im currently trying to get better at cinematography. Keep up the great work!
I have to say man, your videos are top quality. You seem like you were born doing this haha (jk I know it's a lot of work put into it). All the tutorials and videos are so clearly delivered and informative, thanks for everything and keep up the great work!
Andrei Sfirschi Very true.
Congrats Simon, you've done fantastically!
All the best
CW
thanks Chris!
Binged-watched DSLR Guide.. now I am hooked!!! I was thinking of enrolling in some film school.. but this is soo much better!!
I feel more confident with each new video I watch!!
2 THUMBS UP!!
Thank you for all of your well made and interesting videos! I'm a musician and a friend of mine is photographer. We've decided to do a series of live performance videos in various locations and with a number of different musicians. We realized early on that the logistics of finding the right locations, getting all the people and equipment needed and so on was going to be intense. Your advice on many different things has been very useful to us. So, thanks and keep up the good work!
Wow man I really respect you. Great job. Thank you for all the hard work, we love these videos.
I love the work you are doing with your channel. It was very interesting to see your workflow. Great work!
I recently rediscovered your channel and I must say how impressed I am. I've binged watched tons of videos and you've brought up so many interesting topics that just hasn't occurred to me. I love how precise and focused your channel is. So many other channels are so random. Keep up the phenomenal work Simon. Looking forward to some more great content from you in 2015!
Thanks Bobby, that's very encouraging. appreciate the support:)
218 likes, 101 comments, and less then 2,000 views... just goes to show how much people value the final product as a result of your hard work and experience! You've done a really great job so far and I really am looking forward to "another year and another 100 videos" along with more results for you
It's all very exciting, thank you for your support Antony!
Another fantastic video, just as I have come to expect from you! Thanks for making this video in particular because now I know that the amount of time it takes me to produce and upload a weekly gaming video is not unusual at all. I was starting to think that I was just really inefficient at editing and stuff, but I am not out of the ordinary. I also want to say I have learned a ton from your channel and have already started to use some of that info to improve my videos, so thanks again for that as well. Keep rocking it!
Learned a lot from you. I think you've inspired many of young people who love filming and post production editting. Keep going, you'll become a great star in this specilized area.
I just discovered your channel and it is just awesome! So great to find still such high quality channels on youtube! Congratulations!
Giving a big shoutout to UK RUclips Creator Simon Cade and his Channel DSLRguide. On navigating RUclips, we all come across many styles and elements of video making. Simon is a fresh face that needs to be recognised for all he's achieved so far. The real find here is the energy and attention to detail that Simon puts in - many creators will just vlog, slap in too many jump cuts and upload. Simon does the opposite, he's in for the long game, he has beat sheets, scripts, a methodology and patience, kudos to that..
h/t to ***** for pointing me to this creator..
Thanks Mike Downes. This is especially interesting to me as I'm looking to buy my first digital camera and looking for all the first timer info I can get.
Lee Brewer Sounds great, what are you looking for? I mean, sure you have cameras on your phone already. Is it DSLR you are getting. One very interesting note, is how some dslrs can fit old school lenses.. I have the links somewhere..
Yep, looking for a good DSLR. I have a friend with an older Canon that he wants to sell and it's probably more than I need as a beginner, but the price seems really good. I'm just trying to get info to make an informative decision.
Lee Brewer Are you looking to take photos and/or video? What lens does it have? I am more of a Nikon guy, but revisiting my two dslrs, I would say a tripod or a monopod is a staple. These dslrs can be like magic wands, and getting a shot right takes energy - I even went through a process to calm myself and slow my breathing down recently. Just because you can shoot at 1/1000 of a sec, does not mean you should. I often go to 1/30 and slower, and for that definately a tripod..
Lee Brewer as a ps for DSLRguide - did you see this post at g+ ? As Simon was not sure of any value in g+ .. we know there is.. I mean, you have learned of this channel from a g+ post I would guess, rather than youtube?
Didn't realise these videos take so long.
Really appreciate the effort! Great stuff!
This is amazing. Love the cinematic feel your videos give off
Awesome to see how this channel and your style have evolved so much in just 2 years.
i just love all your guides and i think they mean a lot to me!! Please keep filmmaking and you surely teach us a lot!
I've been subbed to you for quite a while now and I'm so impressed with how far you've come. There's no doubt you'll be successful at whatever it is you take on. Keep up the good work!
thanks Dave, appreciate the support!
I've just started to buy some of my own equipment your channel helps so much. Videos like this that show a certain production workflow help me figure out how I should be doing my own, so thanks so much! Keep up the good work! :)
You're very welcome, i'm glad it was helpful!
Wow never expected that you'd delete all the original raw material.
I keep dragging on unfinished projects for years. But I see once you get this workflow in place, plan out what you want, put the time in to do it properly and finish it off and put it out there. I can see you re then ready to let it go and save HDD space to move on to the next project.
It's pretty beautiful actually. As you get what you need: learning n gaining experience by doing, and the audience gets their valuable lessons and content.
Time passes by and you are moving forward. Great stuff, keep on doing it!
You have helped me identify where I can make improvements and what I am doing right. Certainly, there is much more work I need to do, which is exciting! Pre-production is not easy because I never know where I'll be day after day; I travel for a living. So, I must shoot first and ask questions later. That leaves me with post production editing. Since I only have a mobile app and a dysfunctional laptop, my editing is done on my android smart phone. Lastly, the time it takes to edit is the most tedious portion. With all of that said, you have saved me a ton of time by identifying areas that I can improve upon instead of making corrections in post. Many thanks!
Thank you Simon, love the behind the scenes video.
Recently subbed to the channel, just wanted to say how inspiring it is to watch your videos, especially looking at some of your older ones compared to now, good stuff! :D
Congrats on 10k man and thanks for the tips :D
Thats dedication, wow nice job Simon.
Brill. Always good to see the process. Helps to know when 1) on the right track and 2) what could be improved. Great vid.
Just earned yourself another subscriber. You will make it kid...because you ARE making it! Your passion for this really shows. And at 17 you are already more professional than loads of adults in various walks of life. Please keep up the great work...its really enjoyable watching you teach and grow your craft.
geetar28 thank you, that's very encouraging to hear!
It's really Great that you show, how much effort it takes to make a 10Minute Video. Many People do not realise that and don't understand, that Filmmaking is actually work that requires a lot of time - and Time is the most valuable resource we have! :) I really love your Mindset according to the Art of Filmmaking!
Wow! The spreadsheet is a great idea. I may adapt it for my filmmaking/RUclips process. Love seeing behind the scenes! Thanks. :D
You are really helpful and enjoyable to see! Keep working so hard and i can see you behind the best films and movies in a few year!
Another awesome video as usually Simon. Love to see how you explain the way your work. Extremely professional and nice to see behind the scene of what it takes to do an episode. Just saw your Short Movie, that was fenomenal, great filming, acting and the story gets that "punch" in the end. Keep amazing us Simon :)
Stumbled upon this video in 2017 and it is a great help. Inspiring to see your journey and how far you've come with it all.
I'm just getting started with creating video content myself and am not a natural in front of the camera. No surprise there being a photographer :-) but I have a wealth of experience that I would really like to share with others and so will be getting stuck in, making mistakes and learning as I go, thanks to the generous efforts of yourself and the community. Thanks.
Simon, I find all your videos inspiring, fresh and creative, not just very, very handy. Because doing a show is such great practice, I would like to see more "Behind the Scenes at DSLRguide". Please consider making others often as you add and subtract elements and considerations. Thank you!
(I still do not eat as many apples as I should though ;- )
Love these kind of videos and you explain things so very well!!
Congrats! Love your stuff! It helped me out a lot as someone trying to get started!
I love your channel and this particular video. It really showcases all that goes into making a video from start to finish. I especially like the hour counter tracking the time of the project. I really appreciate the backlinks to past videos and your references to equipment in the show description making it easy to find stuff. Super thorough !!! Amazing. Great job
thanks Kat, I'm glad you liked the video. Very happy to hear that all that stuff is being appreciated, thank you for your support!
Have to say, as an aspiring film maker myself, I really enjoy watching your videos. Awesome, informative, encouraging, and a very approachable atmosphere.
Keep up the great work man!
Joseph Kage thanks Joseph, that really means a lot!
I look up to you for your work ethic.
Thank you for the valuable information, Simon.
Have a great day.
Thanks a lot Simon! You are very inspiring brother. I am a bit of a rookie but slowly getting there. I learn a lot with you channel. Keep it up!
i must congratulate you. i have been seeing some of your videos. In your videos i can see dedication and preparation, you know what you are talking about. you show what you are trying to explain. you take it serious, not being boring though. i understand you speak fast to make a short video... and although sometimes you speak too quick, its also a way for our brain to be focused, so we get every word you say.
well planned, created and elaborated.
good job. keep up the good work and the effort and dedication you put on your videos. see you
Almost 2 years later, you've got over 20x the amount of subscribers..! Very well deserved, Simon! :)
Congratulations on reaching the milestones.
Great episode! I enjoyed watching your process.
no wonder you always sound like your speaking at such a consistent and flat volume
He must bring some pauses and vary the level of sound in his dialogues to just throw out this flatness
Jonathan Allison I want to eat chocolate everytime he talks.
This is a great behind the scenes video of the work that goes into making videos. Thanks for sharing this!
I'm so glad I've found your channel, your videos are so helpful and informative. Thank you so much!

I know, you made this 3 years ago but its way more than a part time job
Its a way of Iiving
Still has great content
first vid i've watched, really cool to see all the different bits you do to get a video together, and i would never have guessed it takes as long as it does to make one of these.

Wow that is amazing organization you have for your videos! I also love making spreadsheets to stay organized, but I don't do this for my RUclips videos quite yet because I'm still starting out. Great Video!

I myself am planning to start my own RUclips channel about photography projects and I keep coming back to your videos and for inspiration. Keep up the good work (for yourself and for people like me)!
:-)
Shray Chawla this is very encouraging to hear, thank you!
10k after 100 videos and now 19k after 125 videos, good job Simon!
sometimes a photographer needs to be motivated , you motivated me ...while watching your videos I always feel like more than camera equipment the person , the photographer , the artistic view are more important to create good contents/ photograph ...
dude i really appreciate that u give more importants to the person who is behind the camera rather than a high end specifications
The harder you work, the better the reward. Excellent channel, keep it up.
