Amazing review! I was finally able to get this guy on sale. What an incredible figure. Truly a great time to be a G1 Transformers fan. Keep up the great work!

Just got mine and yeah the ankles are almost a deal breaker. I dont know why they couldn't make them ratcheted as well considering how heavy he is. They could've given him different faces also.
Dude… I’m only 4 mins into this review and love it. Especially seeing you hold it up when you opened it shows true size. Other reviews just keep it in the lightbox or show their hands. But actually holding it gives new perspective. Great review! You earned a subscriber, and I just purchased this figure.
Thanks man!! I think the first impression shot is important for that gut reaction. Sometimes I like it at first sight sometimes I like it after revising it. Sometimes I like it all the way through. Hope you’ll stay for a while and be a friend! :)
@@Windcharger Apache (Springer) just arrived. I’m super impressed with its build. Very solid and heavy. Definitely a complex transformation. I can’t imagine the engineering FansToys had to go through to make it. The shoulder pads (front fenders) are a little loose on mine, but everything else is pretty solid. The ankles and feet could be tighter but not bad at all. Very solid character and I find the transformation interesting. Once you do it a few times, the steps all start to make sense “move this piece so you can adjust that piece”, I liken it to a game of chess. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but this is a wonderful 3rd party figure. The ToyHax decals are on the way.
@@Windcharger also. The packaging was very nice with molded styrofoam. IMO better that Takara Tomy masterpiece packaging. FansToys hits it out of the park with this. (Mine is the 2021 version. I doubt there’s much difference but they note that one the box)
OK. Mine is on its way. £107 can not be argued with. However, I am miffed that the triangle above the face is not painted on the reissue. Yes, it's an almost insignificant thing, but it still urks me. If my Saltus could stand up without falling forward I may not have bought this. Thing is, now I find that this figure has the same flipping issue! Maybe I should have just stuck with Unique Toys' Allen.
@@Windcharger I just received it and........... it stands ok! I can see what makes the problem, but if you utilise the foot tilt a lot, that reduces the amount the ankle can wobble back and forth. Hope that helps!
@@Windcharger Flipping heck, Ben, I adore this figure! It looks great, I like complex transformations so it suits me AND it can stand perfectly well in robot mode (unlike Saltus). I'm a happy bunny to get this for £107!! I think their Insecticons were only a little bit cheaper (I didn't get them), so for a decent triple changer at a similar price makes me very happy!
I like the care and aesthetic that FansToys usually put into their Transformers but the bots seem to be less posable than Takara or Magic Square. I’m a MP TF pose junkie
Both of the missed accessories come with Ocular Max's Saltus, plus you get a trident that he used in one episode. My Saltus is bad however, the ankles loosen whenever you move the joint, so he only stands just after you tighten them. I will be buying Virtus by X-Transbots. That looks excellent in all three modes, something only Unique Toys' Allen has pulled off before. I don't understand why people are even slightly negative towards Allen, I think it's outstanding. The bulkiness is how a soldier should be and the two alt modes are far superior to Apaches.
So many choices, each 3P does a little something right, and many somethings wrong - Although he is a great representation, I feel he is just too tall/big, scales well with Ultra, but looks like an ogre w/Arcee & HotRod. Most do the 'Copter Alt pretty well, the 'Bot is for ethe most aprt also pretty decent, it's the Car mode that seems to fall short. Be interesting to see a full on comparison with the other choices to get a better feel overall. Thanks for the review
I need a second opinion. I have Saltus and Allen, but I've just seen Apache for £121/$169US. I think this is a bargain, but I'm not sure I really need another Springer. I adore Fans Toys stuff usually, is this as good as Sovereign and Phoenix, or is it a Rouge or Jabber? Anybody?
@@Windcharger Be careful with it, Ben. I've heard that it is easily breakable in an area. I like it, but have Unique Toys' Buzzing/Runman, which is excellent so I won't 'upgrade'.
I have the original release. I love this figure. I don't have the weak ankle problem, thankfully. I think FTs does an excellent job in giving Springer those heroic proportions FTs does. I have the XTB version on pre order, a;ready paid for, to check out. I hope it comes out this year, and is better then their Kup, and not as complicated as Fuzz. As always Ben, thanks for the video. It is always appreciated.
@@rvHotRod it's not so bad because the ankle is double jointed, one loose & one tight so you can shift things compensating for it. Of course it would be much better with both tight and would require pressing some pins out to fix it right which I'm going to try.
Excellent review wind charger although I think the car mode is awful. He looks like a robot on wheels. Lmao 🤣 I definitely think MMC has the best springer for me! Looks amazing in all three modes. Die-cast and it was reasonably priced. I'm excited about any masterpiece news and I can't wait for deformation starscream and moon studios Raiden.
always loved that FT packaging
It’s always very high end

Dope review as always. Nice taking trip down memory lane with the review feature segments die cast toon accuracy etc. 🔥
I actually like the throwbacks but my work ain’t as good as Kincaid or Tallus.

Great review. I like FT-19 Apache but I love Mastermind Creations PS-12 Saltus!
So Saltus is good? Thinking about getting the alternate version that should be coming out soon
@@johngavin1175 Dot it....its the best MP Springer out there
MMC stuff are quite fun to transform and play with.
Nice video.
Thanks!
I have an OG Apache from 2017 and the plastic swirls on the tail fins are on my copy too...
That sucks! Oh well. It ain’t a deal breaker.
Ben! Great review! More kamikaze vids wanted!!
Thanks!!
No transformation show? That's the one most important portion of any transformer review.
Sorry. :(
Awesome 😎 review Ben. I have the original release which I want to check if the shoulder pads have that yellow gloss, I don’t think 🤔 it does.
So the reissue has more glossy paint??
@@Windcharger never mind, it has the yellow gloss. Guess I never noticed it.

I transformed mine once in all the modes, never again. The feet is the most frustrating part
Yes, it could be better!
Still holding out for XTB. Will be the most tune yet, but must correct the Locke ‘Sin’ issue 1st. Seems Virtus was in the same boat.
Me too!
What makes you think that Virtus had the same issues as Locke?

Hi, what's the difference from the reissue and the original edition?
Nothing significant really.
Knee not double jointed. His size is immense but articulation I prefer MMC.
MMC has the best articulation among the 3Ps!

No idea.. never bought the first release!

Hey. Great review. What do you think comparing this figure with the X-Transbots Virtus? Which is better if for me cartoon accurating is important?
I personally bought Virtus because I feel that is more toon-accurate but let’s see when it actually comes out.
Sometimes I feel like a psychic when I review one of these and it ends up getting a reissue.
LOL.
