I knew Ryan. After his death, I filled in his seat in the 335 race car. He was such a nice guy. He tried to help anyone he could. He always made time to talk about life. The GT3 he had only had aftermarket wheels (Advans). He liked the wheels on my BMW and he knew the owner of Vivid Racing and got a set for his GT3. He actually removed all the decals from the car to black it out. He had a street driven 335 (the one he blew the engine on because he tried to tune it himself) and a BMW X5 that were both all black with black wheels. I never saw the Daf run.
The main problem for Ryan was he just drove too fast on the street. He was pretty good on the track (he used our friend Joe's Golf to get his race license - seen prepping in the video). The GT3 was the 11th car he totaled. It was just such a horrible situation. He had his demons and unfortunately, they caught up to him. He did have numerous speeding tickets (I think he was caught doing 145mph in a borrowed Audi RS4 - from Audi).
Josh was a super nice guy too. He'd just gotten married not long before the crash. We spoke about his honeymoon in Italy.
Super nice guy, just drove too fast on the road. RIP Ryan.

The only thing that Ryan Dunn and Paul Walker's crash had in common were that they died in Porsches. Dunn was drunk as fuck and speeding at night, and Walker's crash was in the middle of the day on old tires, as a passenger. Paul Walker's crash most likely would not have happened if they weren't on old garbage tires.

The GT3 is the baby brother, but I've driven a number of them in anger on both the street and track. They don't have the desire or ability to kill you at the edge like the GT2 RS but they can certainly get the job done if you make a douche bag mistake past your limit at the racing speed edge. As my Dad told me when I got my driver's license: Son, if you hit a tree or a cement embankment, they don't give an inch so if you are going to hot rod don't do it around them.

Even the most knowledgeable race car drivers respect the capabilities of Porsche no matter how long they've driven them. Feel terrible for the families, but with both Dunn and the guy driving the Carrera that killed Walker, too much car, too much money and not even close to enough respect, knowledge and common sense.

Every single type of exotic car manufactured has been completely destroyed in all circumstances and all reasons, what is safe at higher speeds not much. The structural integrity of a vehicle, the brake and suspension upgrades or electronic ride control systems, safety caged roll bars and tubular framework, etc. You even can be killed with all the safety components you could probably invent and the human body can only take impacts and G forces beyond what is survivable. So it's not the car it's fully understanding discipline, maturity, recognizing the real personal skills you actually have and still have a margin of safety, and training for real high speed driving. Race tracks are designed to bleed off speed in loss of control the highways and city streets are not, that's why we have speed limits.

Blaming Porsche for Ryan's death is kind of like the killers that blames GTA games for their actions, which makes no senses. Ryan had the chance to call a cab or a sober buddy to pick them up safely but he choose to take the wheel while being beyond intoxicated so he brought this upon himself, there's no way Porsche is responsible for his actions. With that mentality we might as well call out Hyundai-Kia making unsafe shit cars like a Kia Soul that can litterally be squashed by a semi and easily catches on fire (which is sadly not that uncommon).

I think probably that was thrust into more focus by the fact that he was trying to take a turn slowing down from that estimated 130-140 to what could only have ended up 90-100 by that time. In the dark, while drunk. And _then_ in a rear engine car. But really, he wasn't forced into heavy oversteer by the weight of the rear because he would have spun if he had been. He simply didn't make the turn, as can be seen by the tire marks. Because either he turned too late or couldn't turn tightly enough at his speed but only enough to swerve and then shoot off the road past the turn. Or both.

@@j.moneyfilms, the likelihood of a car bursting into flames at high impact is much greater when the fuel tank is situated at the front of the vechile. No one is claiming cars with tanks at the back are not able to burst into flames

Everyone loses someone at some point, no matter how.
Getting over this is everyone's responsibility.
There is no need for snowflakes on the Internet who always say "because of you he can't get over it"
But if you spend your whole life getting drunk on alcohol and drugs, even the best psychologist won't help you. It is your fault alone. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah sad story .I think the cause of Paul Walker's crash was old tyres on the car when tyres get old they get harder and have less grip. Did the same thing happen to Ryan ? Who knows but check the date on your tyres people it could save your life.

The car is to blame. Lack of skill
Alcohol is to blame. Experienced drunkard and drug user. So lack of skill.
This is not a tragic accident, but the result of events in the past that have been brewing for a long time.
Only your blurry vision makes you think it's something special.
Terrible accidents happen every day all over the world. Do you have even the slightest bit of compassion for any of them?

Another Porsche GT3 ..... Porsche builds this high-powered hi performance cars with absolutely no assist at all and people keep buying them. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful car but one would have a 50-50 chance of living their full life owning one. After Paul Walker's death his daughter Meadow Sue Porsche for an undisclosed amount and settled out of court.

So he may have been a jackass speeding in a car he wasn’t skilled enough to drive , and intoxicated. Sympathy does nothing for the situation, it’s sad and it’s very sad for his passenger . He took his life also being irresponsible

      The difference:
Paul was actually a pro driver who didnt drink and drive and race on public roads. Also paul was a passenger when he died. He didnt drive. He crashed in carrera GT which is called "a widow maker" and was sitting on +10year old tires which contributed to crash together with Pauls idiot friend flooring it. Also he just wanted to do a pull and I guess forgot his tires were crap.
And then we have Ryan who was just alchoholic idiot with maybe 4 brain cells. I wish he didnt die but he was just a rich manboy. He died in 2007 911 GT3 which is way safer to drive than carrera GT but he was drunk and speeding on public roads and he crashed.

This guy definitely resembles an inanimate tool shaped object? To clickbait Ryan and then you admit to not even knowing who he was, makes you candidate for a promotion to douche baggery... And you probably only even recognize Paul as being the "Rocks" co-star in the later F+F movies, which again promotes you to Legendary Tom Cruise status! However, I'm willing to guess that is indeed a much appreciated compliment because, you most likely enjoyed Maverick?
