      I feel like a mix of the two is best.
      King Kong is a solid example.
      That Transformers ride was hyped up so much, it's just an endless series of 1080p projectors and spinning carts, and it's boring even if you are on psychedelic drugs. (Fast and Furious sucks, but I will say it was pretty hilarious on a couple grams of shrooms)

    I love a lot of your videos but this has to be def one of my all time favorites from you! So much nostalgic memories for me and so many others growing up with not just the park but also Nick and it’s shows that were filmed there. As a former guide, Mummy attendant, and scare actor, I got to learn so many nods and historical things about the parks that I love to share with people and this helps just add on to that! Thx again and keep up the amazing work and please, make this a more normal thing where you cover historical rides in theme parks. Not asking you to be like other RUclips channels out there already but the way you present stuff is amazing! Thx again!

    Excellent video! The nostalgia hits hard whenever Nick Studios comes up. I was lucky enough to have been the right age at the right time, and raised in Florida. The Back to the Future ride was AMAZINGLY cool, I had NO idea it was all tangible ! The craftsmanship was so well done. E.T was really cool too, you got to ride a "flying" bike through that one and visit E.T's home planet! I never got to go on Jaws because it was broke down literally every time we went. And the one time I went on King Kong, it broke down and we had to exit the ride vehicles and walk out an exit door. I remember looking up at the _massive_ king kong animatronic and being pretty freaked out lol
    But Nick Studios was the highlight. Even though in retrospect, they could have made it WAY cooler for a kid (there was alot of production talk and technical stuff for some reason) It was still the place where Nickelodeon *came* *from* and that was fascinating and awesome .

      @@ThemeParkStop And to answer your pinned question - Back to the Future The Ride was THE reason why I decided, having been denied the opportunity to visit USF on a school trip when I was 14 (parents couldn't afford it), to knuckle down, study hard, and get the exam grades I needed to do an engineering apprenticeship when I left school in 1993 so that I could earn enough momey to take myself there one day...it took until 2004 to realise that dream but I went on the ride over and over during that holiday and it didn't disappoint. So yeah, you could say that Back to the Future The Ride made me the man, and engineering manager, I am today so it will always have a special place in my heart ♥️

    I worked at Jaws when the park opened, drove the first Jaws boat. This is pretty spot-on, we had problems for about a year until the ride shut down for good. The bit about Spielberg stuck on the ride is false, tho. I actually took Spielberg on the ride in 92, so he could check it out and see what he wanted to change - prep for the reversion of the ride with all the fire and the Jaws 2 finish. The original ride was by far the best....when it worked. Had the time of my life there, worked from 90 - 93. After Jaws shut down for rebuilding, I worked at all the other rides, then Kong for about a year. Kong rocked, so much better than the current version. The look on people's faces when it dropped the first time was awesome.

    I was there a lot as a kid, me and my brother rode this “ride” or attraction, and I have no idea what it is called, I have been searching for years. You sat in seats and watched an animatronic old man talk about history of what I don’t remember, but he would talk about a year of certain history and then the ride would rotate and there would be another same old man, talking about other stuff in history. This was insane, cause we went back the next day, and the ride was no where to be found. Idk if it was a glitch in the matrix or it actually existed. I have been searching for years.

    1:15 Weird that the buildings were modeled after the Lower East Side considering that the Roosevelt Island Tram is In MidTown Manhattan at 67th Street, I believe...the neighborhood is mostly tall office buildings

      Weirdly they seem to have modeled most of the sets after 1970s representations, like from the remake maybe? At least the bridge is there. But not much else makes too much sense.

    Back when the rides were actually unique, different, and interesting. I wish I was old enough back then to experience this. Now all they have is basically the same rides with a different look.

      There is a rumor that Steven Spielberg has some say over the Orlando park and won't let them get rid of the ride

    • @stanfordite
      @stanfordite 4 года назад

      It does. Spielberg threw a fit when the Hollywood version closed and threatened to never make another movie for Universal again if ET was taken out in Florida. He basically has a gun to their heads.

    Why did you only mention the ET Adventure at the end, It deserved its own segment! Also, you entirely omitted the Wild, Wild West Stunt Show and the Horror Makeup Show!!!

    • @ThemeParkStop

      This video was only talking about closed attractions, so since ET and Horror Make Up are still open, they weren’t included. BUT, there is a whole 10 Facts about ET video on the channel, check it out! Also, I’m saving Wild, Wild, Wild West Stunt Show for a future video!

    I was there on opening day, we ended up getting a refund because none of the attractions were working. We did see stars there like Bill Cosby, Craig T Nelson, Jerry Van Dyke, and even Steven Spielberg said hello to us. It's amazing how much the park is nothing like it was that day.
