I've been in demand and supply planning for quite some time now, but I'm contemplating a switch to a supply chain analytics role. Do you think going for a master's in data science would be a wise move for me? My bachelor's and master's degrees are both in supply chain management, with certifications in CSCP and SCOR. However, I lack coding skills in Python and R, as well as solid statistical knowledge beyond the basics. At my current company, we primarily use Excel and VBA to handle processes and optimize based on KPIs, so I'm concerned that diving into data science might be overwhelming.

I'm 3 classes away from having a bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, and logistics management. I'm looking to pursue my masters in logistics engineering from Florida International University to be more data driven and to also have the ability to apply engineering principles to the supply chain domain. Would the certification in Unilever Supply Chain Data Analyst Professional Certificate be a good fit to better learn analytical skills for my respected domain.

In theory, yes, but the practical application of it requires actual thinking/application to the variable processes going on. It’s great at theoretical information, but still needs to be improved for extended variables. My opinion of course.
