That's super interesting about the battery waking up. I'm struggling with an Asus TP200S atm where the laptop powers just fine if I feed it 19V but the battery gives no sign of life. The two pouch cells were at ~0.3v so I brought them individually up to around 4v each and they're holding, but the pack is still refusing to wake up. The battery connector on the mainboard has 12v on r/b and 3.2v each on the middle two pins, and that's where I've gotten stuck...

This will be the battery management chip because the cells went below a set point it is now permanently locked out and you may never be able to unlock it. I'm not even sure if the tool Sorin uses could do it as the chip loses all of it's settings. Also the chip has the ability to blow the fuse as a further way of ensuring end of life and may have taken this action. Would love to hear if you do manage to make it work again!

@@JonnyFix Hmm that makes sense... I just installed Win10 on there and it seems to think it's charging the battery and reporting 13% charge, but clearly isn't... Not sure I'd want to put any more effort or even a replacement battery in, as it was a free pickup and not really worth the cost. Parts machine time! Thanks for the note about Sorin, hadn't seen his channel before but that's an insta sub for my interests!

Smashing, not much to replace :-D
I have to remind myself that a P channel means you drive the gate with a negative voltage or ground depending on the day of the week lol.
something like that, Sorry my silly mind.
No heatsink, tight buggers arnt they.
