14:12 - you do not advance your legend track one level when defeating a merchant ship unless it has the level up icon on the card (merchant ship cards with 4 attack and above) 17:45 - you did not move the pirate ship towards you 19:10 - when a crew member is passed on the rondel it should go back onto an assignment, not just the crew you finish on 19:15 - checks for crossing the ship line are done after you take the action for that turn, at which point you check If you have 1 or more crew on extort to see if you gain gold and then you sail the Navy, Merchant and Ghost Ship 19:50 - you should not put merchant ships on the same tile 20:14 - you are correct only 1 ghostwake token is allowed on a map card at a time 21:54 - merchant ships should not sail towards the player, they should move 1 space towards their destination port that puts them as far away from you as possible 23:34 - sugar was at 4 gold at 26:20 so it appears you forgot to devalue sugar in the market here 25:35 - the ai is on a cursed map tile so you should recruit a cursed crew member for it 25:48 - you checked for movement after executing the crew up action, you should always move first and then execute an order 26:00 - this is up for debate. As it is a move action you could argue the ai would move towards you rather than stay still. This would avoid multiple turns where the ai makes no movement due to being on a map card with the ghost ship 28:21 - you should always prioritise vertical movement then horizontal movement when moving the ai, navy and ghost ship 34:26 - you moved through a storm card so you should jostle a crew member 35:26 - the ai should have gained 4 gold for defeating the merchant ship, taking it to 12 gold and burying a treasure 37:00 - the ai should move towards you 37:55 - you can only use Salty Pete’s bonus action when you take the trade action from the rondel 40:45 - you did not take the booty from the defeated merchant ship 44:33 - the ai had a movement of 4 including its move bonus from the fight action Thanks for the video and sorry for all the corrections, it is more to help people who will see this in the future rather than to criticize your playthrough which showcases the game really well. It is one of my favorites and I am really glad you played it.
Really enjoying all the Tiny Epic playthroughs. Many thanks. Although I have all things Tiny Epic including all mats and promos, I've found that Pirates is the one game that benefits the most from having the small player mats because the mats have triangular holes for the action tokens. That means you can slide the captain across the tops of the action tokens as he goes around the wheel because the action tokens are recessed down into their holes, so they're flush with the mat's surface. It's a fantastic game. I did struggle a bit with the map cards' corner icons and found it hard to find locations quickly (so I was having to remember where things like the coffee markets were, etc. as nothing stands out to me), so we 3D printed a handful of small items to put on the map card corners to make those locations stand out more. Thanks again.
37:55 Salty Pete's ability requires you to have one of each good. So you would trade one rum AND one coffee for 7 gold. I've been intimidated to try out the expansion, but this video was a big help!
When fighting the 2 value merchant ships, are you supposed to gain legend levels? I thought that was only part of the reward if it noted it on the card.
@@ShelfStories honestly, I only noticed this because I played for the first time last night. I kept getting really confused about how to gain the legend levels. Honestly, I played super duper wrong in other ways, but that was one thing I noticed.
You missed a trick with your greeting, Jason. Should have said, "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, my people. What's up!" for a Tiny Epic Pirates playthrough! lol Thanks for the enjoyable playthrough It looks like a good, streamlined version of the genre.
On your Bot. Pirate second turn, You said you don’t need to roll because he hast to go to the next spot plunder. Do you still roll cause you could roll a six and he would activate a special ability. Also you would not get a legendary level for value 2 merchant. In a two player or a solo game level for merchants and higher will give you a legendary bump.
I think the navy ship should take booty from you, even if it's only one cube. Otherwise what's the point of patrolling the high seas against the threat of pirates. (I don't have any upgrades, so if any new rule utilises this rule, then I'm not privy to that)
Probably, but there's nothing really to fear about the navy ship. Remembering back to Firefly, you lost contraband if the navy ships caught you. Taking only one cube is probably fair. it means you were able to hide the rest of your plunder

20:14 - you are correct only 1 ghostwake token is allowed on a map card at a time
21:54 - merchant ships should not sail towards the player, they should move 1 space towards their destination port that puts them as far away from you as possible
23:34 - sugar was at 4 gold at 26:20 so it appears you forgot to devalue sugar in the market here

Those sound like amazing quality of gaming improvements. This one is my favorite Tiny Epic, so I might look into that.

Good catch, thanks!

Correct! What an annoying little exception. Oh well.

Wait til you see where I rank it next week!

But I'm a smuggler. I'm smuggling! If I can't hide at least a little bit of contraband from the police, then I'm not worth much as a pirate, am i?
Probably, but there's nothing really to fear about the navy ship.

@@adriang6259 The navy boat wrecks your crew, though. That can be devastating.
Not bad but the crew not moving back to their assignments really is throwing me off as a new player trying to learn the game
