  • At the competition in Rogoznica, the first international competition in big game fishing, the "Adriatic offshore tuna championship 2024", the first Adriatic championship in tuna fishing, the crew of "Corto" confirmed that they have knowledge and that their current title of world champions is not accidental!
    In the competition of 33 crews from 14 countries, "Corta" captain thirteen-year-old Marijeta Svalina and her "Corto" crew are convincing winners after three fishing days of tense battles at sea.
    "Corto" collected as many as 6288.7 points in extremely strong competition where there were also the national teams of Monaco, Italy, France, Montenegro and Croatia.
    In the organization of the Giričić Sports Fishing Society from Kaštel Gomilica, anglers from 14 countries fished: Italy, Switzerland, Montenegro, Slovenia, Great Britain, Senegal, France, Monaco, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Poland and Croatia, where the second position belonged to another young captain - Boško Gruica.
    This 14-year-old was the "boss" of the "Capo" team, which in the end had 5372.22 points, and the silver was earned by the crew consisting of: Ivan Ledenko and his son Jan, Davor Bečić and Pero Šare.
    The bronze went to the crew of "Fortis" captained by Robert Blažević, who had 3988.52 points on their account after three days of fishing, consisting of Nikša Jureškin, brothers Ivan and Mirko Jakšić, along with Borislav Taraš.
    As for the trophy tuna, the local crews did not triumph here! The heaviest catch on the ship's deck ended up being the Italians, fishermen from Ravenna captain Daniel Tarroni. The "Hook up" team had a tuna weighing 49.61 kilograms, and in addition to captain Tarronio, they also fished: Bernard Kulundžić, Diego Bondi and Vittorio Impelizzieri.
    Medals, trophies and all those valuable prizes prepared by the organizers with the support of sponsors were presented to the best on the stage on the Rogoznica waterfront by the Mayor of the Municipality of Rogoznica, Anita Živković, and the Director of the Rogoznica Tourist Board, Ivan Ramljak.
    And as for the fishing catches - the activities at sea were fantastic, so the head judge Tonći Luketa, who is also Croatia's big game coach, had his hands full.
    Namely, there were 62 activities on the first day, 102 on the second, and 149 on the third. 32 catches were brought for weighing, some lamprey and some tuna.
