I like the idea of the EU list but they also have rather obvious ingredients on that list like jet fuel which I'm thinking is a pretty obvious ingredient you wouldn't want in your skin care.
I just watched a 20 minute video about a company of which I have never heard, and products I have no interest in purchasing. Yet, I still want to know Alice's opinion.
Got the eye cream in a recent TrendMood box can’t wait to try it now. Have used the pimple potion I like that too when I need to use a product like that.
That box is exactly how I got the eye cream 😆 I figured I’d put the pimple potion in a giveaway if it didn’t work out for me, so there was no way to lose haha. That was a great box imo!!
I have rosacea which is worsening with age, so I pretty much avoid essential oils, especially citrus and bergamot, eucalyptus, etc. I know it is very individual as to who tolerates what. And as I just discovered, you can develop a reaction to ingredients you were okay with previously.
I have mature skin- kinship sunscreen is my holy grail. Yes, it is glowy... but it is not overly glowy on my older skin- I am pretty light skinned... fairly medium ... depending on whether I self tan- regardless of self tanning or not, I do not find a white cast. The thing I like is that it is a good addition of skincare, and it does not contain silicone which makes me feel like I have a rubber face mask on! Yikes! I've been using this now for two years and look forward to using it each day... it plays well under all of my foundations ... anywho... thanks for the review!
Yay so happy to finally get this trial. I got antsy and bought some things early without your direction 😂 I love the cleanser, but my love hasn’t really extended beyond that product. I keep almost buying the spot treatment. I’m like “this looks amazing- why haven’t I bought this!?” Then I see all the essential oils and am like oh that’s right 😂 Totally agree though- love their philosophy and their unique ingredients. I’ll have to try the eye cream next
I'm crossing my fingers for a similar evolution as Good Molecules'. I actually do see a LOT of potential in this brand, but certainly the potential for problems in those with allergies! 😐
Thank you!! My current favorite is probably the beauty of joseon - which has got to be the least surprising sentence I could possibly say 🤣 Ranking the sunscreens is actually turning out to be difficult, as I found a lot of incredible options this year: Pestlo, Canmake, DDG, BoJ. SO many great options in 2021! If only I had a time machine to take some of these back to the 90s. People wouldn’t believe it possible! (The sunscreens I mean; the time travel is somehow more believable 🤔)
Congrats on 25K!!! I have been considering trying the brand, but (almost?) everything has coconut in it, which my skin hates. (Did I also see cocoa butter?) And TBH, nothing makes me run back to the arms of Aquaphor more than preachy "clean" pledges. Parabens is Portuguese for congratulations, after all. 🤭
Yeahhhhh, I like the way some brands do it: "we left out parabens because y'all said you prefer products without them". That is something I can understand (although I do think parabens are misunderstood - I can understand the business side of things). But the preachiness? There's enough of that on Instagram 🤐 - we don't need more from brands! Thank you! 🥳
Nice. I agree about all of that "clean" framing. But I would try the eye cream for sure (since my skin hates concealer now in my older age). I am always trying new eye creams. I really am liking the Tony Moly pumpkin retinol eye cream. I have noticed nice results that could potentially be in my head? Hard to tell with fine lines. I think after Xmas I am doing a Dr. Jart trial. I got some gift sets on the cheap after black Friday with some cica products I have wanted to try. But the biossance sale stuff came too. I am very blessed. 🤣🤣🤣 ***MY DDG LED MASK CAME TODAY*** I haven't opened it yet because of the day we had here, but I have a ginormous Skinstore box in my office!!!!
!!!! Aaah cannot wait to hear about the LED mask for you!! Ah, and if you can, let me know if you can feel the LEDs around your eyes (…not sure that made sense 🤣 But that’s my one detail that I don’t love with the LED masks. Could be my sensitive eyes, and the problem is solved with tanning goggles. But I wonder if it’s all LED masks!) Dr. Jart products are great, but pricey at retail. Gotta love those kit deals!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole (I tried to reply and hit the thumb down button! I switched it immediately but if you get a weird notification it's just clumsy thumbs) I will definitely let you know and it will probably be ALL OVER my instagram, lol. I'm too excited. The sales were Really Good this year in my opinion, much to the detriment of my budget. I am telling myself that now I can go several months without buying much because it will take me that long to try out everything in my stash.
I am okay buying from clean brands as long as they focus on their products and not banned ingredients. Also don’t understand the lemon pads. Bliss and DDG make such great exfoliating pads. ❤️❤️
For me the Kinship Supermello Hydrating Gel Cream gives a shiny skin look similar to what you experienced with the sunscreen. I think it's really cool that they have a recycling program. I'm not sure whether I will buy Kinship in the future. If the brightening eye cream were to go on sale in Ulta's Love Your Skin Event, I would give it a try. Thanks for yet another detailed skincare review! 💗
I really like the papaya cleanser. The Supermello moisturizer is ok and it smells really nice, but the tapioca starch in the ingredients freaks me out a bit. And it has an interesting texture.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole it’s kind of smooth version of papier-mâché paste mixed with the texture of marshmallow cream but without the stickiness. It feels nice despite my description.
My friend on RUclips is friends with the owner . But again I only tried the sunscreen . I like u can buy it at Ulta . But I haven’t tried all products.
I am wondering how you plan to reintroduce the Geek and Gorgeous retinaldehyde? If I remember correctly you had transitioned from the G&G .05% to the .1% and while you had no difficulty tolerating the .05%, you were struggling with the .1%. As the Kinship brand did not reveal the percentage of retinaldehyde, you were left to guess based on your skins reaction. It sounds like you had no difficulty tolerating with the Kinship, so it might be closer to the .05%, a little more or a little less. So, where will you go from here?
Great question! I haven’t quite decided yet, but I have these options: •Medik8 0.03%. Thinking of testing the waters with nightly use of this •Repurchase the 0.05% G&G (will eventually do this regardless) OR try to stretch out the .1% that I haven’t finished - because I hate wasting product! •stick with kinship’s in spite of not knowing where I stand (because I am indeed liking the less paying attention to BHA) Urgh, decisions decisions!! 😫
Thank you for sharing! That's good to know - happy to hear brands are figuring out how to actually reduce the white cast in mineral foundations - very exciting 😃
Oooh the Pimple Potion is an exciting product. How do you think these two actives are formulated together in the one vehicle when they would usually require two different pH values to be effective? Normally Retinaldehyde needs a pH around 5 to be effective and salicylic is best at a pH between 3-4.5. Do you feel both ingredients were effective?
Some research has found that salicylic acid can indeed work at a higher pH (great news for me, less stinging of products lol!) pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15725565/ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1473-2165.2010.00506.x

Idk but I want to try the new peach and lilly lactic acid that is like first on my list I think I'm gonna go to Ulta and get it tomorrow..lol merry Xmas to me 🤣 50$ kinda sucks but better then 85$ or 120.$ for another lactic serum and I'm interested in the PL ingredients list with the lactic. I don't think I have heard anything about the eye cream but sounds really nice and up my alley I really liked the OH one but it was really sented and trying to stay away from that but have the color Brighting aspect.
Did I tell you I grabbed it? AHH I’m so excited to see the results. No stinging (take that kinship lol), very nice texture. The packaging is a little different from their other products which surprised me. But waiting to see what happens now - will it be the dupe we have been waiting for 🥺🤞 I hope so!!
I started using the M61 Glow peel pads 6 weeks ago and I am seeing a real difference. I only use them once a week right now. Have you ever tried them?..❌⭕
You know what’s so funny - I had no idea until I was on their website and saw that they had a collab set 🙃 It clicked for me in that moment what some past comments on this brand meant 😆

It’s kind of fascinating how there was a period of time where everyone hated silicones? It seems to have balanced out more recently. They sure do make moisturizers spread more nicely 😬🤣
I couldn't stand this sunscreen. Dry skin here. So thick, feels like clay, and makes my face tight and feel more dry like I need to follow up with more and more lotion through the day. After using the full bottle, NOPE NOPE.
