You did something right Jon... and you will always be loved by us.
@@gaylelewis9114 Same here. Dark Shadows is even more addicting in my 70's than it was in my teens. I am slightly obsessed with Mr. Frid during my 2nd binge watch on Prime Video. I will always love my first love the one I had a crush on when I was between 10 and 13. In my opinion he was always so damn handsome even back then. Seeing old videos of him and DS does not change my mind at all. I always loved those tall dark haired handsome men. I wish we could see you back in the good old days of DS You are truly missed but I realize age creeps on us all that is for sure. Always remember you forever (Barnabas Collins) Jonathan Frid.
Beautiful video and perfect music, deep and lovely tribute. I wish I'd had the honor of meeting Jonathan Frid and seeing him perform in person, but I "discovered" him after he passed. My life is enriched by seeing his work and learning about his life. What an extraordinary man.

Thank you Jonathan Frid. Your "Barnabas Collins" will be remember as the definitive, because you dared to bring your humanity to the most loathsome of creatures. You were also my childhood hero. I will always remember the little boy who ran home from school each afternoon to watch you at 4 o'clock for 4 unforgettable years. Thank you!
''He dared to bring his humanity to the most loathsome of creatures'', exactly. There are monsters, but to suck the life blood of another human is the most loathsome. No other vampire was sympathetic.
Time and the aging process...how can it be stopped? Perhaps we are coming closer to the answer. Too late for Mr. Frid, and many others. How sad. He was a good sport making public appearances while suffering the ravages of old age. I will always remember him as he was as a younger man, during the height of his popularity. Thank you for the video, he lives on stronger than ever within the hearts of his fans.
He really was an amazing and mesmorizing actor. I remember like it was yesterday when as a very young teen, i would rush home from scholl just to watch " Dark Shadows" His portrayal as Barnabus was truly mesmorizing and addictive to watch.
Jonathan Frid will ALWAYS be the one true Barnabas Collins. He portrayed his character with such suave & sophistication, I enjoyed hearing him speak. Young people need to view a few episodes of him speaking, maybe some of them would learn proper English again. Thank You Jonathan for entertaining us with your terrific talent.
I especially liked the photo at 7:35 with Jonathan Frid and Johnny Karlen about to embrace. That was a beautiful friendship between the two of them.....very strong and solid.

Well done! Jonathan Frid was the best Barnabas ever and this tribute video is as haunting as his character depiction. Thanks for sharing this. Its beautiful.
In many ways Johnathan Frid was made for the stage. He had a look that was at times fluidly both handsome and hideous. It not only seems that he was at home in theatre, but that the theatre was his home! Many things to regret about this very curious individual. Like, as a goof, why he never made the cover of "GQ" magazine? He would have been a natural. Second, no one in "the business" thought anything of him to build another dramatic TV series around him. Woulda worked! Finally, he never married!
Frid did not want to do TV anymore after DS and he nver wanted all the attention nor the fame nor to be in the spotlight. His readers theater One Man Shows was his true passion, reading and acting in front of an audience. Frid was not the marrying type. He was a gay Man but back in the day no actor could come out as gay and expect to hold an acting job on daytime family TV nor as a romantic leading man, it would have ruined his career. Frid once said none of his lady fans would show up at his reading if they all knew he was a gay man. However I totally disagree with that. I think they still would have loved and supported him in his acting endeavors and performances.
I looked at Jonathan Fried as a childhood hero I still miss him he was part of the reason I wanted and still an actor...I cried when I found out of his death , didn't find out about his death till 2 days I saw the tim Burton movie. Jonathan my hero RIP.
I watched Dark Shadows as a child in the 60's and I love the tribute you have paid to Jonathan Frid. I am 63 and have looked to purchase those shows and could never find them but have found them all now on Amazon and started watching again a few weeks ago after all these years-and after all these years I still love every minute of Dark Shadows and all of the actors that made it such a wonderful time for me as a young girl. Very unforgettable show. A classic...it was a frightening show but you love Barnabas anyway. Also Victoria Winters was another favorite of mine and Maggie. Thank you so much for this tribute.

Mr. Frid was not a religious man so there was no ceremony after he died. He never liked to be fussed over and he did not want a funeral nor a memorial. He preferred to be remembered alive and enjoying life. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a seminar he gave at the main library in Columbus, Ohio in the early 90's. He was gracious humble, and very friendly.
When I was a kid and literally ran home from school to watch DS, I LOVED being scared by Barnabus! You got in my head then sir, and there you will remain. Now that I am older I understand you are in my heart as well..❤
For those who may not know, Kathryn Leigh Scott has verified that Jonathan passed away this last weekend at age 87. Wonderful tribute video, especially poignant in the event of his passing.
Wendy, this tribute is especially well done. I think that the music got me a little misty-eyed, however--something about the passing of time and a "flame that still burns". At 3:40, he actually looks like he belongs to another century--a portrait come to life! The expression is haunting and it is among many qualities which endear Barnabas to us and breaks our hearts. Some of these photos I had not seen (1:16; 3:41; 5:19-21), while others were like old friends to be cherished.
I love your choice of songs and music. I only hope that Jonathan knew how much we loved him. He had us in his spell, those eyes ! that mischievous smile, that voice, that little wink..
Jonathan Frid is one of my favorite actors. He can play any role because he searches deep inside for the answers on how to play it. He is 100 percent actor. George Vreeland Hill
I did a quick tribute to Mr. Frid shortly after his death on my internet radio show, NICK POFF RADIO 45 on live365.com. Although I watched and loved BUFFY and ANGEL, Barnabas Collins was the vampire that inspired my imagination as a child. I still have my Barnabas ring, thank heaven. (I sent bubble gum wrappers away to get it.) They can bury it with me! I would be honored if they did, because DARK SHADOWS and Mr. Frid's performance as Barnabas introduced me to a less-than-direct storytelling.
thank you so much for the wonderful video of the man i ran home to see afterschool i like many, had such a huge crush on him,i still have that feeling when i watch the show's reruns.
He is always Barnabas Collins,a very gifted actor/thespian of Shakespearean quality and range.I adore his style and charisma on the screen.Such a thrill,he made &saved Dark Shadows, the coolest soap opera ever!!
Hey Wendy, this is fabulous. I don't get how you have so many photos..thats incredible really. I hope this is not your last one of JF as his fans love the work you do. I love that image of him at 6:33. Love how you included images from this years convention. Wonderful work with much love included. Thanks for sending it my way.
Never saw anything like him! He was amazing & we all miss you so very much. And oh yeah , the flame still burns, as the song is saying! Love him still.💜💙💜💙
These pictures of Jonathan are wonderful. Wonderful tribute! He was surely an actor that I wish I had the honor of meeting. Part of my childhood. I was just reminding my daughter that without Barnabus, there would hardly be an Angel......or Edward, etc...
Hi Chatroomchi..The song is: The Flame Still Burns from the movie: Strange Fruit. I think the artist is Jimmy Nail....but I'm not 100% on that. I am so glad you enjoyed this! :)
Beautiful Thank you so much for sharing your love and creativity with the fans and keeping the memories alive for us and for posterity. Still enjoying this Ten years later.

Jon Frid was the best. Great actor and Huns being. The one and only Barnabas Colin’s.
In a way, I feel sorry for Mr Frid, he was typecast on only one role which he did so excellent! I’d love to see him in some other roles.
He did do other roles
He would've been a great Sherlock Holmes, and Thayer David a great Watson ! 🔍🎥🎩
He looks so incredibly handsome at 4:21 with his soft Barnabangs! He also looks great and terrifically sexy with his Branwell look at 5:38.
I mean the pointy bangs he always had as Barnabas. But in that shot on the video there is his natural hair, not laquered down like the Barnabas bangs.
I love the term "Barnibangs!" That is perfect.
Oh yeah, Bramwell was possibly even hotter than Barnabas!
He was more passionate, that's for sure. 1;24 & 1;25

He is 100 percent actor.

great tribute, RIP MR.FRID
Thank you for doing this. I will miss him
Excellent!
What a lovely and fitting tribute to a lifetime's work. Well done. Rest in peace, Mr. Frid.
I like the pix at the 2:02 mark.He as very handsome when he was younger.
all we have now are the great memories
Gorgeous man inside and out. ❤
Thank you for this lovely tribute!
He is always Barnabas Collins,a very gifted actor/thespian of Shakespearean quality and range.I adore his style and charisma on the screen.Such a thrill,he made &saved Dark Shadows, the coolest soap opera ever!!

The very very best
I love him when he play Barnabas Collins What great actor I still watch rerun of Dark Shadows.
These pictures of Jonathan are wonderful. Wonderful tribute! He was surely an actor that I wish I had the honor of meeting. Part of my childhood. I was just reminding my daughter that without Barnabus, there would hardly be an Angel......or Edward, etc...
Beautiful soul, Mr Frid. Wish you were still here with us.☮️💟💙💜💙💜
Hi Chatroomchi..The song is: The Flame Still Burns from the movie: Strange Fruit. I think the artist is Jimmy Nail....but I'm not 100% on that. I am so glad you enjoyed this! :)
