Thank you everyone for all of the great comments and watching my videos! It really means the world to me that you guys are enjoying what I am creating. Thank you!!! 😀
i am 20 years old & have wanted to move to florida since i was a kid, really nervous about moving away from everyone & everything i know. this video helped out a lot, i cant wait until the day i can make it happen.
Dude hell yeah I’ve been wanting to live in Miami since I seen the movies Scarface & bad boys (not the most ideal examples of Miami) idk what it is but florida has always called me to move down there especially since I live in Michigan
Florida is the best state hands down! When I'm in Florida, I am such in a different mood and better mental state, as opposed to being in New York. Im moving down there in January and I cant wait. Also I totally agree with the fact that cops in florida dont care. Cops down there arent really as strict as in other places
I've lived in Florida my whole life. If we get pulled over which is very rare we always get off with warnings. But be careful in the keys, those cops don't play.
Haha I’m 15 and I live in Utah and I’m planning on going to college in Florida and my parents said they will visit me all the time so it’s cheaper for them to go to the theme parks
I grew up in the Orlando area and It's okay and there are pros and cons like many places. However, things have changed over the years. What's cheap for a transplant can be expensive for a native. Many transplants or people from the northern states can own a nice luxurious house for an amount that a native can't afford to buy. I prefer the four seasons up north than the summer heat in Florida. Whenever I am ready, I will move out. For those who love to live in Florida, good luck and enjoy.
It seems like that is happening in all of the best places in FL. It is just the way of the world ya know. People find out about a great place, and it attracts everyone that can afford to move there and pay more. Just like in SF. It's also funny how people that grew up in FL, want the 4 seasons and the northerners want the warmth haha. I see that as a common theme.
@@MichaelBordenaro yes it's true. There are some people from the south moving north while there are those from the north moving south. It all comes down to one's preference and what is convenient.
Mental health is one of the greatest motivations! Living in cold states locked indoors; snow; winters months are dark it’s just gets emotionally draining and mentally taxing. Chicago is a great city but it’s so depressing in the winter months. I’m exploring Florida as an option to relocate and start over. Love Miami area but it’s crazy expensive but I’m sure that other areas are not such as Port St. Lucie, St Augustine, etc I’m still young (50) and I need warm weather, opportunity, fresh start, and new meaning and purpose. No family, single, no kids what’s holding me down? I have a small pension of almost 4K a month so I’m sure I can do “something” but fear at times gets in the way but I need to do something ASAP!
Your story actually reminds me a lot of another viewer who is a retired police officer, he has a pension, and he just moved to Miami Beach from Maryland. He does have kids, so it was tough for him. I think you are in a great position to make the move happen, just a matter of taking that first step. I wish you luck and hope to give you inspiration😊
@@MichaelBordenaro Thanks Michael, how can I contact you to inquire about purchasing or leasing or any other info? Noticed that VA loan require condos to be "approved" not sure if buying would be the best idea for now until things get settled. My girl loves AZ but there's nothing like having a beach vs a Dessert, lol...
@@chgofirefighter You're welcome! You can go to my about section on the channel, and email me at the address there. And you are correct, to buy a condo with a VA loan they need to be FHA / VA approved, and at the moment, there are no condos that fit that criteria in Miami Beach. It might be possible to get one "spot" approved, but that is something we can discuss later on👍
I can relate, I live in Washington, in the northwest area of the United States. And it’s basically raining and grey every day, keep in mind that the summers are very pretty, however winters suck, springs suck, autumn is alright, but still. It’s a very sad state
@@camrendavis6650 Well, it did vote for Obama twice before it voted for Trump twice. So yeah, it could. I guess it all depends on who will be moving over the coming years. Right now, Florida's the first or second fastest-growing state and it's attracting people from all over the country. Let's hope it's the right people.
My husband just accepted a position with his company where they are opening a new location in Jacksonville. My favorite place is Treasure Island/St. Pete Beach, so we will only be a couple hours away from my favorite spot, still only a few hours from Tennessee (home), but I think the sunshine is the real reason my husband is taking this position- my mental health. The Tennessee winters (I know, they’re not that bad, but still not good for me) are so hard on my mental health. I’m so excited for this change this year!
This sounds like its going to be a positive move for you and your husband Toni, and being central to places you love is even better. Good luck on your move !
The Midwest (primarily the Dakotas and Minnesota) generally stay above 90 and get well into the 100s in the summertime, and down to -50 in the winter. It's not that we're complaining about the hottest days as much as we're complaining about having the most extreme weather in the country 🥲
Enjoyed your video and perspective. I have been to all 50 states, and lived in 10. No place is perfect year round, but many places have more pros than cons, along with good weather, and lots of culture and recreation. The lack of mountains is the only geographic feature missing. I think South Florida for 9 months is hard to beat, but Jul-September (heat and hurricane season), are probably better spent in a place like upper New England, if you can pull it off. A lot of people find the incomes lower in FL, so depending on age or financial situation, that can be a factor. Once you live in a state run by Left loons (CA, WA, IL, NY, MA, NJ), you can appreciate a sanely-run state like Florida. The mass migration that has pushed FLA to 3rd largest is a drag - and in South FL, everyone is on I-95. I do like the Brightline train service, but the major travel negative is having to drive 6+ hours just to get out of FL (like to Savannah). I think the pluses far outweigh the negatives, and for me, split-time living is most appealing, so you can take advantage of the best of a couple places. Miami is also the hub of travel to Latin America, so that is another plus, and seasons are reversed there. Good luck, Michael, and I am sure you enjoy FLA so much better than IL! Chicago is fun for a weekend visit, but that is it!
Totally agree Jim! splitting time and getting away from Fl in the summer is ideal and my eventual plan once I can do it. Overall I do like it better here, and it is a bummer trying to do a road trip here spending those first 6 hours getting out of FL🙄
Coming from a (current) Washingtonian, Seattlite, PNW-Dweller, a lot of the cons of Florida are also cons here. Flooding, landsliding/shifting, overcrowded cities, horrendous traffic and never-ending construction (we actually just passed up LA, CA and now have the worst in the nation), not to mention the constant rain (which is obvious). My spouse and I are looking to move there to be with family and "dry out" our soggy, cold souls, if you will. xD I think every state has its pros and cons and its a matter of what those pros and cons mean to you and what you are willing to put up with/what boosts your quality of living the most. And I appreciate you putting together this list. I think the impromptu comparison is more genuine since it shows what really stands out as the good and the bad. Have a great day!
Thanks for the cool comment Ace! You're right, the cons here can be the same for you there and living here sounds like it can really boost your happiness level. Maybe you can give it a try! These are fun videos to make and I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
I lived in Cornwall UK. It's a tourist county and the only part of the UK that has palm trees, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters. Yes, I'm serious there is a place like this in England, UK! I highly recommend it to any American tourists. Of course the weather is not as hot and sunny as Florida but in terms of life quality, it's really nice. Like Florida, Cornwall is really far away from everything, it's on the bottom South West tip of the British Isles. The best part of living in a tourist town or city is the tourists. You are guaranteed to meet lots of people. Tourists are always happy and upbeat and great fun to interact with. I'd love to move to a sunny state such as Florida. The USA is such a huge amazimg country, you could spend a life time exploring it.
Cornwall sounds like the first place in the UK I would like to visit when I'm there! Funny you mention a lifetime exploring the US bc I feel the same way. Traveling within my own country so far has been a lot of fun and I would like to see it all eventually
Great video. I moved to wpb in 07 from Chicago. Definitely know what you are saying about staying inside during winter. 9 months of cold and 2 weeks of blazing heat. I enjoy Florida. Heading into humid season.
Oh nice we moved here right around the same time then! Cool to meet someone else from Illinois on here😄 I agree, I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons of living in Florida
I'm determined to move back to FL but probably north FL. I grew up in Dunedin/Clearwater and it was sooo much better than where our family moved, Gainesville, GA. All the people do in my town is mask up, go to eat and go to church. :( My mental health was so much better in FL.
Great video. I'm in Illinois as well and let me remind you that 6 months out of the year the weather pretty much sucks. Cold or wet or icy or overcast for 10 days straight sometimes. So we dream and consider Florida a lot. Which is why your video gives me an accurate expectation. Thanks!
Thank you! Oh yes, you don't have to remind me about the 6 months of cold. It is permanently traumatized into my brain LOL😆 I know exactly what you mean. I used to day dream a lot about coming down here before I actually left. Honestly, that helped get me through all those crappy days👍 Super happy the videos are helping you😊
@@MichaelBordenaro I am watching your videos, because thinking about moving to Orlando in 2 months.I know it's hot and humid there, but i used to live in Alabama(worse than FL)😀😀.I will be OK!
@@samdelon Thank you for watching my videos! I really do appreciate it. Orlando is great, it is first place I mention in my 10 best places to live video. If you can handle the heat, you're good to go. And in the winter, it can get even a little chilly there😉
One of the cons is Hurricanes and storms in the Summer and Fall seasons. Also what I like about the Tampa area is the beaches and climate. I'm planning one of these yrs to move to Florida it's an amazing place to travel for vacation. Clearwater is my favorite city in Florida.
Was living in South Florida near Fort Lauderdale for 9 years. EVERYTHING you mention is so true! Worst most inconsiderate rude people and their horrible driving too. South Florida is way too crowded now. And ridiculously expensive, even the old crappy small homes, and tiny condos. This year I moved to Treasure Coast area. Much less crowded (for now), and much more affordable, and still great beaches and everything I need. Anything from West Palm Beach and south of there is way too expensive, over crowded and just gets nastier by the year.
I have been to Ft Pierce and Port St Lucie a couple times and liked it up that way as well. And you're right, down here SoFL getting crazy expensive. The crazy thing is that it is still cheap compared to most of California. Glad you are happy with the move, good choice!
No one just moves to anywhere with out planing .A lot of thinking, planing ,investigating , comparing goes into a decisions to live in Florida or for that matter any other state . You can find good and bad in every state in the U.S if that's what you want to do . Go where you think you'll be happy .If Florida put's a smile on your face ,then it's off to Florida ,If Buffalo NY make's you happy it's off to Buffalo. You see Paradise can be a place in your mind also .......AS for me i'll take Florida over every state .
@Theonlyonestanding Yes they do get a ton of snow in Buffalo, but I am sure a good amount of people love that and that is a form of paradise for the. Love California, and SF! Look forward to spending my summers there in the future✌️
Theonlyonestanding yeah I live in buffalo and winter is crazy but Christmas time is awesome 1 because it’s Christmas and because the snow fits the aesthetic very well.
Actually... my decision to move to Florida took about a week. I was in Denver 2 years ago, and had to get the hell out. I applied for jobs in Dallas and Tampa, and found one in Miami about a week later, and 2 weeks after that I was in Miami. Never been to Miami before that, but have been loving it here.
I've driven to Florida 3 times from Massachusetts to visit family. It's a good time to do, even though you're stuck in a car, and spending money on gas several times, but I enjoy it.
That is quite a drive! I have done it from Illinois twice and that is a pretty long drive too. The best way to enjoy road trips I have found though, is to not be in a hurry 👌
I lived in WA state by the CA border. I loved it there because I love the mountains and the ocean life. The weather just felt like eternal spring. Though I loved it, I did envy the hot weather so I could swim without freezing in the rivers and in the ocean! It rained for a small part of the day, but not all day.
Sometimes it’s a give and take when you live in a city or a state that’s relaxed if the cops were on your case every minute of the day like New York where I am from it would make it much uncomfortably living in Florida so you’ll have to see the good with the bad also
Nice work. Very informative and honest review. Really like your presentation style. I live in the PNW and agree with what you said. 6 months its pretty miserable. Not too hot or too cold but a lot of cloudy rainy days.
@@MichaelBordenaro When my wife and I were in Aruba we'd be picking up stuff as we walked the beach, drives me nuts that people come for the beaches yet have no problem dropping stuff on them!
@@mikepetrozelli7206 Yeah it is very sad. That is nice that you spent some of your vacation picking up the trash. Every little bit helps. Places like here need to have some more enforcement around that.
(sorry for my english) I was like 3 years old, when I heard first about America. (I'm european) I had a jacket with an American flag (idk why I had it lol). I was asking my mom, what does that colors mean and she said to me it's the USA flag. She told me, there are living a lot of people's who we can see just in TV. I was 3 years old and I decided that one day i"ll living there. Now I'm 23. I have never been there but I'm watching all the videos about America, Im following the political side, the history side, and everything about it. I just feel like there is my home. I know all the states and their city's. I draw always the American flag and the states. I have a Florida state draw next my bed and every night I'm thinking, one day I will be able to move there. When I'm watching vlogs about people's who lives there I'm literally crying. In my school I learned Germany language, but since I was 8,9 years old I started to learn the English by myself. And yet I'm learning. Few weeks ago, I had a chance to travel in Colorado and work as a babysitter for a family. But the corona thing just shattered my dreams because my country have been closed. But I'm hoping, and I never give up.👆🏼
I love your positivity and your mindset. With that type of persistence you will no doubt will be living here in the United States in the city of your choice one day😊👏
Thank you very much, I will be following you for more info about the area. I lived close to Woodfield Mall at one point but that was still 45 min. from where you grew up. Again, your videos have been super helpful .
lived in florida 10 years.....left....still miss it sometime....PROS: weather, Churches, beaches, coasts, big cities (Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville) then a few miles down the road nice and rural...Long drives with car to cruise, good restaurants-lots to choose from, great wildlife - gators, manatees, panthers, etc..cool to see, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, etc...Daytona 500, car shows, Sports teams, Football, College and Pro Football, Spring Training, Nightlife, no snow, .............CONS: Lower wages, lack of quality healthcare and doctors, southern inefficiency, bad attitudes from southerners and Floridians, Puerto Rican gangs, emphasis on Spanish language and culture, Expensive housing, tolls, Hurricanes, insects, bugs, small lizards running around, a feeling of "NO CULTURE", Lots of wealthy, elderly people, and snowbirds that are arrogant, no change of seasons, the state just gets on your nerves after awhile...
While driving on Oakland Park Bl. one bright and sunny day in Ft. Lauderdale, a small monsoon whipped up and I very rapidly reached for the oars in the back seat. By the time I had them in the front seat, it was again a bright and sunny day in Ft. Lauderdale. My mother, who moved from Masachusetts to Lauderhill said that it took a year to adjust to the heat. She called the bugs and little lizards in her condo "no-see-ums." On the bright side, while visiting her in February and after a night at the Hotsy--Totsy Lounge, I could wake up with a hangover, jump in the pool before breakfast and be refreshed for my morning bagel and cream cheese.
Im a Boston native living in NH (live free or die). Up here you can start seeing your breath in late September and it geta pretty much worse from there. The weather starts to get nice in May, but snow and freezing rain is not uncommon in May. I love the sunshine and being outdoors but hate freezing my ass off. I'll take my chances on Bradenton Beach anytime.
I see no negatives when i'am sitting in my living room drinking a cold beer watching people up north shoveling snow in the middle of January on TV ,when it's 78 degrees out side here . That just erased all the Hurricanes ,bugs ,110 degree heat ,bad drivers ,tourist, sharks , rip tides, lighting strikes .Gators,snakes.fire ants
Hey man, I live in SWFL. Don't knock the rainy season. It brings relief to the sweltering heat. Except for lawn cutting, I wish it rained every day in the summer from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
We live in Colorado. We figure that the 4 months or so of hot humid in Florida is better than 3-4 months of cold-cold-cold here. I like to garden and every year here if it doesn't freeze early it freezes late. Meanwhile, the only draw back we've experienced while visiting in Florida are the crazy drivers. You can't even do the speed limit in the slow lane without pissing someone off.
That was pretty much my conclusion when I moved as well. Although, if you're coming to south Florida, it is hot and humid for about 7 months out of the year, so it is a very long and hot summer. Northern FL is more mild. The crazy drivers also seem to exist everywhere in FL
@@MichaelBordenaro We like Sarasota kind of inland about twenty feet elevation or somewhere between Clearwater and St Pete's with some elevation. My wife is from Missouri so she knows humidity. I used to live in Houston so I know what that kind of humidity is like. And I used to live in Southern California and I loved wearing shorts and tank tops all year round. When I was back there 2003-2007 I never turned the heat on the whole time I was there. I had $10.00 a month utility bills. Meawhile, right now here in Colorado I can't even get the yard cleaned up to put the house on the market because it snowed last week and it's not melting off. And this morning a snow storm blew through that was not forecast. Anyway, I know what you mean about the sunset parties like in Clearwater. Last January we went to the beach all day in at Siesta Beach. Then experienced just a glorious sunset with everyone standing on the shore loving the sun until the very last glimmer was gone. And then the full moon came up and everyone was dancing and cheering. We finished the evening at Walt's Fish Market where my wife had grouper and I had triple-tail. Heaven.
Sorry not bashing. The videos are well done but you summed it up perfectly. Florida is a great place to live but it's getting more and more crowded. Floridians are actually leaving to live in places like Texas because it's like what Florida used to be before it became some place for people to move to and complain about things they miss about where they moved from....like pizza, chinese food, bad drivers, bad grocery stores. Yet they stay here anyway. btw that is a sweet looking guitar setup!
Yeah unfortunately that's the nature of people to complain no matter what. I try to keep this list as neutral and realistic as possible without sound like I'm complaining because I definitely prefer living here versus Illinois LOL. The guitar setup is super fun to play! I wanted that setup since I was a teenager, it's nice to finally have it👍
Maybe because I got used to cops in Miami, but I like the way don't move if there is no real crime going on. You as a citizen you can talk friendly with the person in the middle, and fix the problem, if the guy blocking the way is not experiencing an emergency... that happens a lot. I feel Miami wasn't designed for be the international city is today so a lot of change have to be done (and will be done) in the next years. Believe me, one time I got flagged down by a person that was assaulted, stabbed and received multiple injuries, because I work in ambulances and I called 911. The response of police was outstanding. Less than 2 minutes. And they have a system to track the criminals through the area and deploy units to catch them. Believe me, to do that , they cannot be busy talking or dealing with the truck guy. It looks they are chilling: they are not.
Being able to endure the humidity, a must. Need a lot of money not really, if you know how to manage your income and cost of living. I know plenty of places here that are very affordable. But of course, the more money you have, then the more you can indulge in the FL lifestyle.
Air quality is my main reason for FL. Colorado(Denver) has smog which I've never seen before and you can feel it. Ive had all kind of breathing problems arise that i never had before! 4 months and FL bound!
@@mrrandom8050 I'm just wondering because it took me a yr or so to adjust from NC & now when I travel back to the south (I grew up in Florida), the humidity & heat cause me to have breathing issues - whereas here at home in Castle Rock, I have no health or breathing issues now that I've adjusted. It's a huge climate change & I feel like our air is cleaner.
@@PandaLAG air quality here in Denver averages 70-75 (moderate) while Tampa FL averages 17-20(good) the air here is not cleaner by any means.. Especially in Denver
@@mrrandom8050 Thanks for the info - we're considering a move back to Florida where my family is & I've been concerned about having breathing issues... maybe it's just an adjustment & it'll actually be better for us. Thanks!
Man, I know what you mean about the no-seeums, at about dawn and again at dusk, if your skin feels like it's being eaten alive, IT IS!. We spray some fogger around the lanai and we can at least sit outdoors. For whatever the cons are, and every place has them, I agree with you, your quality of life feels so much better in Florida. It may take a bit longer to get things done down here, but that's because people are more laid back, and that's so much better than fighting the rat race right up to bedtime every day.
You forgot to include that Florida is a right to work state and explain what that means for employment in Florida. Could you possibly do a vlog on that please? Love your vlogs.
Good point! I will put on my list of topics to cover in the future👌 Thanks for watching and glad you like the VLOG! I have a new one coming out tomorrow 😉
your videos are awesome, I just happen to find them tonight, I have to agree about the traffic, that was hard to get used to when I moved to Florida, I thought Chicago traffic was bad.
Florida is a traffic nightmare on steroids!!! We definitely need to build more rail systems to relieve some of it. Expect upside-down cars on the road a few times a day.
You knocked this presentation outta the park Michael. Very WELL BALANCED pros vs. cons. P.S. I found that using Avon Skin So Soft on my skin after my morning shower protects me from the noseeums as well as making my skin soft and supple 😉
Thank you Rob! I really sat and thought about these before I made the video, and it seems like others were happy with my list too 😊 Thanks for the no see um moisterizer tip👍
I was born and raised close to Houston TX, which is really bad during the summer (is both hot and humid). But south FL is much worse, is like a sauna bath. I would not have believed that such an environment existed anywhere in the US had I not I personally experienced it. I am bewildered that anyone would voluntary go there.
Man Florida Rainy day is beautiful. 1 thing is that folks have to build up the yards, I do Excavating, but from Michigan. Really thinking about this place🙂 because Mid November to March or so is Really cool and I love doing things and working all year i love 12 hour days and great weather.... Michigan is really a drag people rude n shit SOOO yea... Florida is just Inspiring! Being in michigan and dont trust and cant rely on folks
I was sooooo happy to get out of central Florida. It was always hot. No seasons. Just hot and hotter. The only thing I do miss is going to the beach anytime you wanted.
If you come down now and go for a walk at night, it is hot! I know cuz I do it almost every night. Still a solid 97 degrees with humidity out right now at 1 am lol
Great video. You nailed everything about living in Florida so well!!! Spot on! I would only add: 1) that the infrastructure in South Florida is terrible and unreliable. There are way too many sewer line breakages where neighborhoods get flooded with raw sewage, and it flows into the canals and water ways. Nasty. Also, they still pump partially treated sewage directly into the ocean in a couple spots near Fort Lauderdale. Just gross. There are some vids on YT of divers showing it. Nasty. 2) Constant power outages. Although FPL is pretty good at getting the power back on.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, I don't know what is with all the sewer main breaks lately. Seems like in the last couple years this is more and more common down here. And I heard the cruise ships parked out there for months are of course dumping their sewage just right there off the beach, Very sad. Down here in Miami, we rarely have power issues though. Only probably 4 or 5 times since I've lived here the power has gone out. I appreciate the comment and watching😊
Great vid, been visiting Florida on and off since 1980, But the one thing that takes me sometime to get used to when I arrive there is the Humidity!, it's intense for me. But I'm from London England . It's grey sky's and rain here. Also the traffic is getting worse in Orlando now, but nowhere near as bad as London.
Thanks a lot! Yes it's tough to adapt to the humidity but I guess a small price to pay to be in such a great place. And coming from London, I am sure you love it!
@@MichaelBordenaro Yep, for sure I love visiting there , Temperature in London now is 70F , cloudy, 48% Humidity, UV Index low and wish I was where you are right now .😁

Irma did not brush Florida.. lol Hit is directly west of Orlando . Been through a lot of Hurricanes Irma was the worst for me! Slept in the hall with my dog. New sub.
Down here in Miami, it was definitely a brush, compared to a direct cat 5 hit they were calling for. We got super lucky down here, and it was still bad. We are still talking 100 mph wind but that was nothing compared to what it could have been. The west coast really got the worst of it. When you look Irma on the map, it literally covers the entire state of FL, crazy!! Thanks for subbing 😊
If you have financial independence and aren't driving to work every day....move further out west from the beach. Still only about 30-45 min away. That's not bad at all. Great way to avoid the traffic. I live in SW Miami and i found this video hilarious. Thanks for reminding me why I hardly ever go to Miami Beach. It sucks lol mainly bc of the traffic and absurd over priced nonsense.
Miami is becoming a center for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency within the US. For those of us in Seattle and Silicon Valley and elsewhere it would be interesting to have you provide coverage of this. Perhaps interviews with Crypto CEOs, Miami mayor etc. You are in the right place at the right time with good video skills to do this. This will help Miami, Florida, and those outside your area to have a better idea of what's happening there on the ground. This development will affect every aspect of society in the future.
I got to experience those no see um bites on the last day of my trip to Florida. Thank you Sanibel Island! Another video suggested Sesame Seed Oil keeps them away. Neutrogena Body Oil has sesame oil in the ingredients and comes unscented if you prefer. It’s a lightweight oil, so you won’t feel like a steering wheel with a fresh coat of Armor All. 🤣
@@youtubebuilt3329 Yes that hot dry heat is a lot different. I am not a fan of the dry nose feeling. Although on the other hand, the humidity here can make it feel suffocating at times.

As someone who has lived here over 30 years from the Northeast, I can agree with all your points here. Overall I do love it here though, and the cons and negatives have never really bothered me much, other than hurricanes. I was through Andrew and also the last one in 2005, and it was not fun! And my 30 years I've lived in Lauderdale by the Sea, Boca, Lake Worth, and now back in Delray Beach where I lived 20 years ago. It's a beautiful little town with an amazing downtown which is similar to South Beach. Housing can still be very affordable here, and we were picked as All-American City. Beautiful ocean, Etc.
Yeah I guess its pretty easy for guys like us to see the contrast coming from the north. But I take it for what it is and I love it too. You have been through some terrible storms here! I've been to Delray a couple times, it is a great little town👌
@@MichaelBordenaro I love Miami too Michael, had been there so many times but not for a while and I miss it. He used to drive his bike from Calle Ocho to Bayside and eat at the Howard Johnson's where his father was the head of Howard Johnson's for all the Northeast and Florida. Great times from the old Jackie Gleason style Miami. Last time I was in Miami, I saw Morrissey at the Jackie Gleason Theater. Amazing.
I have been a resident since 2017 moving from MD. For the comment on bad drivers, I would say there is a lot more to it than just the traffic, for many reasons. Also what goes along with the bad drivers is VERY HIGH AUTO INSURANCE RATES. When I received my new policy quotes moving from MD (DC-area by-the-way) to FL, my insurance rates TRIPLED for the same level of coverage! I asked the insurance agent why the insane increase - since VA-DC-MD traffic and drivers where I came from was no walk in the park. She said she "wasn't sure - maybe it was the amount of old senile folks on the road." Then once I moved down here I definitely saw why. You definitely need to keep your head on a swivel down here. Turn signals are an uncommon courtesy in many areas. Tailgating is rampant. Very stupid aggressive drivers that think it is okay to drive like they are playing a Grand Theft Auto video game (until they go to jail in real life). No annual vehicle safety inspections required by FL law (which means people driving sketchy vehicles with only one headlight working, etc.). But despite my ranting on the dangerous drivers and auto insurance rates....I still LOVE IT down here. Just be careful on the road. And this applies not only to LIFE but also to driving: Treat people how you like to be treated....
I totally back that up with the driving situation here in FL. It is nuts in every sense of the word. My insurance did not triple, but did take a significant increase for sure
I love living in Florida, of course it has it's down sides like trying to work and commute in a state with so many retirees spring breakers and tourists, also people who are here for six months from other states can vote in elections on Florida issues that really don't affect them as much as they affect full time residents who make a living here year round. Despite the downsides i would not live anywhere else.
And I'm currently debating between moving to Florida or to the Pacific Northwest....lol. I think I dislike the heat more than I dislike the gloomy rain.
@@MichaelBordenaro I went to the PNW for a week and loved it. Also been to Florida a few times. We currently live in Wyoming. Wish I could do both.....lol

Pensacola and most of North Florida has a much different culture and atmosphere than central and south Florida. North Florida is definitely more laid back and southern. Not much diversity (mainly black or white). Pensacola is country but still a nice size metro area. It has probably the most beautiful beaches in Florida. Amazing seafood, etc...Actually the entire Panhandle of FL beaches are breathtaking. I lived in Destin/Ft. Walton area. The beaches amazing. Awesome place to raise a family. @@aubreelopez5638 Haha! They are correct lol

In general ,people like Florida;the ones that hated it were in the minority. For me just not having cold, is enough .
Not having cold is a big selling point for me too!
You forgot about the low taxes and virtual minimum taxes compared to other states. No income taxes, low or no taxes for retirees, etc.

A very accurate video. Yes, Florida is better than any drug or psychological therapy, a day at the beach gives you amnesia in regards to depression.

I moved to Tarpon Springs from the Detroit, MI area.... never, NEVER going back🌴🐬🦩
Coming from a (current) Washingtonian, Seattlite, PNW-Dweller, a lot of the cons of Florida are also cons here.

I wanted that setup since I was a teenager, it's nice to finally have it👍
I had the best pizza Ive ever had while in Daytona. The Daytona Wings and Pizza joint. They use a woodfire grill. Absolutely phenominal pizza…
Thanks, I’m thinking of relocating from Chicago to St Petersburg. This really helps.
Glad to hear that Kevin!
Good Move.
Fair point, there are many serious things for the police to handle
California is a lost cause. I’m moving somewhere that actually appreciates freedom
Maybe one day the'll get their act together
Fuck Cali. Don't spread it
@@sabertoothwallaby2937 lol what makes you think that I don’t have a clue what’s happening to my state?
That is a Florida-worthy attitude! Vote red to match your sunburn!
Florida is a great place to live if you have spending money and you don't mind 8 months of heat and humidity.
Being able to endure the humidity, a must. Need a lot of money not really, if you know how to manage your income and cost of living. I know plenty of places here that are very affordable. But of course, the more money you have, then the more you can indulge in the FL lifestyle.
@Matthew Andrade Well I guess that about sums it up LOL😆
Air quality is my main reason for FL. Colorado(Denver) has smog which I've never seen before and you can feel it. Ive had all kind of breathing problems arise that i never had before! 4 months and FL bound!
How long have you lived in colorado?
@@PandaLAG I've been here since December 2019
Thanks!
I'm moving to Orlando soon so I needed to see this
Excellent glad you found it too 👍
I did a class in Orlando few years back. From NJ. I drove around every day and houses were cheap and really nice. Good sp
I love Florida wanna move there soon. Thanks for the info
Nice! I love it too, hope you get to move soon. Glad you enjoyed!
Yeah those no seeums are horrible! Totally agree with you too, the pros certainly outweigh the cons in my book and you cannot live anywhere perfect 👌
...as far as the imports go, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, LEAVE YOUR LOUSY ATTITUDES AND TERRIBLE DRIVING HABITS BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!!!!!!!!
Michael Bordenaro it’s a piece of home that I miss terribly.
I live in GA, same. Right to work state.
Appreciated your video. Off to the next one 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
your videos are awesome, I just happen to find them tonight, I have to agree about the traffic, that was hard to get used to when I moved to Florida, I thought Chicago traffic was bad.
That is so cool Denice! Super pleased that you love the videos 😊Yeah the traffic can be tough but I guess a small price to pay to live in paradise 😉
Thank you for your excellent video.
You’re welcome!
Move here. Stop complaining. Learn how to drive before moving. Don't like it, the border is north!
Well said!
Most florida drivers are arrogant and have no respect for others period!
Canada sucks!
I was born and raised close to Houston TX, which is really bad during the summer (is both hot and humid). But south FL is much worse, is like a sauna bath. I would not have believed that such an environment existed anywhere in the US had I not I personally experienced it. I am bewildered that anyone would voluntary go there.
Thanks for the honest opinion, love the guitar rig,
Thank you for the compliments!
It is not hot in Florida after the sunset. It feels very nice outside. However, inside it is humid, so run ac all the time.

MOVING OUT OF TAX-CHUSETTES 👏🏽
Once again, another well informed straight forward video, good job!!!
Thanks!
100% agreed. Florida, perhaps, the most beautiful State in the Union. The beaches, not mention other things.
It certainly is beautiful here 😊
@@MichaelBordenaro if possible, i think you should do videos on other CIties like Tampa, Orlando and smaller beautiful small towns like Punta Gorda, beachfront small town. There are so much to do in Florida, i cant wait to move there for good. i lived in the northeast 25 years. sucks, i hated it :) last year i moved way still couple hundred miles from NY for work. Your videos speak for themselves, the quality and their contents.
@@brentt8590 I think that is a great idea! In fact, I have been wanting to do that and make videos about other areas here in Florida. But I want to do it the right way, and actually go there, and get footage there and talk about my experience, rather than just doing it here from my house lol. It is definitely in the works 👌Hopefully you'll be able to move here for good sooner than later. Thank you for watching and commenting, its much appreciated !
@@MichaelBordenaro keep doing what you doing, i think you will have a lot of subscribers in the near future. People will certainly enjoy and love what see on your videos. While i have not been to all major Cities in Florida, but there are so much you could do from Fishing, Jetkiing on the water, Boating and etc. Jacksonvill would be a good one to talk about and so i Saint Augustine and the Beaches. I know you got the plans and good luck on your next adventure.
Honestly I'd take a hot cloudy day over a hot sunny day, any day. The "rainy" summer just makes it more tolerable for me :)
Yep you are right! The cloudy summer days are much easier to deal with heat wise. I don't mind them either, unless it stays like that for too long
Me too. The rain in Florida is soothing to me...it also smells so good...
Pro: When hurricane season is over. Con: When hurricane season starts.
You got that right!
Haha yes that is a good way to avoid the MB madness 😄 I do love living right on the sand though. Glad I could give you a laugh!
Its the tourist destination, so naturally it will be the most expensive.
Yes it’s very interesting to see this happening here. Maybe I’ll get lucky and be able to meet some of the top dogs in the bitcoin world😁

No snow in Tampa.
Haha, yes those no see ums suck, thanks for sharing the tips to make those bites go away😊
Gloom and doom in pacific northwest. Yes. Very difficult for me.
Yes that is very tough to deal with on the regular

Sounds like I don’t want to go there lol
Yup, AZ makes Florida seem cold
Michael Bordenaro Phx hit a high of 118, and I can say the humidity factory makes it feel like your dying sometimes but dry heat is much different
@@youtubebuilt3329 Yes that hot dry heat is a lot different. I am not a fan of the dry nose feeling. Although on the other hand, the humidity here can make it feel suffocating at times.

I'm from Kentucky, just spent 10 years in Thailand and Cambodia though. I'm looking at florida because the weather, proximity to beaches and no income tax. I just wish there were some mountains or large hills, but oh well.
Yep there are some sacrifices to be made moving to Florida we definitely do not have it all that would be California
Try Clermont, just west of Orlando. I call it the mountain range of Florida. Very hilly with some of the highest elevation in the state (300+ feet).
Thank you about the mental health got anxiety this past year
You're welcome! I am sure being here in FL will be a nice improvement for you
As someone who has lived here over 30 years from the Northeast, I can agree with all your points here.
My significant other was literally born and raised on Calle Ocho, his aunt and uncle owned a Hotel in South Beach. His mom was married to the assistant chief of police of Miami and they recall some incredible Mad Men parties in the sixties LOL. Amazing.
@@cookingartguy2170 Oh yeah I have hear a ton of stories from those days. Sounds like your partner had a blast down here back then!
From Ca , have lived in Orlando area 25 years. Miss the mountains and hate the summers here everything else is good except the traffic ,
I feel the same regarding mountains and summer lol
California traffic is worse. Way worse. Come to LA now and you'll never want to come back.
Agreed, lots of things to love about living in FL, and despite the negatives, it is still great 😀
Feel free to go home.
