I used to have Timneh which was very intelligent and talkative. You could have had a conversation with him or… an argument on who is the naughty one here - it would never be him 😂. Now, I have another one and love them. I was looking forward to an update on your Timneh. She is a beautiful girl

I took my TAG to get his nails trimmed and was told he's small for a TAG. He's 20+yrs old. He's a red factor with the pinkish feathers on the front and back of his neck. His tail feathers are a brighter red than other TAGs I've seen.

Interesting! How much does he weigh? Sounds handsome too-

She really is a lovely looking bird. Hope Hera comes to appreciate her as a treasured companion. Funny you mentioned Gaia knowing the chips packet straight away.... Rax and Mango can both spot Monte Carlo biscuits coming out of the naughty drawer at 30 paces and can identify the sound of aged cheese being sliced from the next room!
I'm happy to give all the birds naturally-fermented, vintage cheddar and Parmesan as the occasional treat, since they have virtually undetectable levels of lactose and are a good source of of calcium and vitamin K. Obviously, all processed cheese and young cheeses are off the menu.

Yeah… I’m unhappy with cheese and red meat for the birds, so it’s their favorite! Like a fish and water! Probably my fault, since I don’t want them eating unhealthy foods-

@@ParrotBliss I hear you. Since all our animals do have very natural, healthy diets for the most part, I don't mind giving them the occasional naughty treat.
The only one who regularly gets into food he shouldn't is Mango ...... If I leave the butter out, I always find the butter block with its wrapper opened and little kakariki-sized beak marks around the edges.
The birds have their own shared fruit bowl they can eat from at any time, which I fill daily with fruits and berries from the garden like plums, cherries, mulberries, hawthorn berries and rose-hips. So long as they're eating the good stuff all day, I'm OK with the odd naughty treat after dinner.

@@ParrotBliss It really is a privilege to have so much room, though I think Australians do have more fruit and veg in their gardens on average than many other countries anyway. With HOAs being uncommon, people are free to plant their gardens as they like, so fruit trees are very common, even in city parks and gardens.

That is really nice, A. It's pheonmenal to me that here the mindset is that a garden attracts wildlife = bad! I get not wanting to get rats and such, but... planting food just seems like a win-win.

Would you post a link to your vet research website? I’m interested in true life expectancies of different species.
