this is the greatest, most simple and easy to follow video I have come across on RUclips about how to make your own stickers plus only 5 minutes! I watched so many which were 15-30 minutes and was still very confused. I recently got a silhouette portrait to create my own stickers as shipping is too much from etsy stores, so in the long run I'm actually saving money by splurging on the portrait. can't wait to start making stickers for my first Erin Condren 2016 planner! it will be great if you can make more short helpful videos on how to create different stickers, change colours of certain areas in images etc. thanks for the helpful video!

Definitely considering buying from aussie sticker stores and making my own! Thanks so much for the video! Oen question: where did you purchase your Silhouette Portrait from?
I do the exact same, but I hand cut them with a cutting board, ruler and craft knife! Bit more time consuming, but it works for me :) You've just convinced me to splash on the Silhouette Portrait, though! I've been debating between the Cameo and Portrait, but I can see your Portrait works perfectly for what I need it for! Not to mention, the Silhouette software seems SO time effective. I faff around with Photoshop for yonks before I get it right. Thanks! This video was super helpful :) xxx

Yes the Portrait is perfectly fine for my needs and I love that it's so small and doesn't take up a ton of space on my desk :) And omgosh, the Studio software is insanely easy to use :D I really hope you enjoy your new purchase! Yes! Great Video! Has anyone figured out what the setting for the kiss cut is?! I just used mine for the first time today! And it cut right through the second layer of my sticker so I have little flakes all over my cutting mat I can't remove. Help! Thanks!

Great video! Any idea how etsy sellers create their main photo when selling? I use Silhouette studio but am unsure how to pull my work created to place on a backdrop like they do. I'm sure most don't print, take a photo and then put in front of a backdrop. any suggestions?

This is how I was making my stickers. I couldn't make the one's you have made right I got discourage so I stop. I have the same printer that you have it works really great for me. any who. I don't have the machine I just use the software. and print out the design and kiss cut them. I am getting back into making the stickers again. just designing them is the hard part. you have giving me inspiration. I enjoy watching. how did you make the ones with the heart check list. I really wanna learn how to make them. thanks
+brown skin beauty I'm glad you are feeling more inspired to make stickers! I get a lot of joy out of making stickers custom to my planning needs :D And yes, all the stickers I print and cut were designed by me too! I actually really love the designing process the most because I love playing with different shapes and colours :) I think it just takes a bit of practice, but as for the heart checklists, they are very simple! Think of it as 5-6 stacked rectangles with a heart symbol at the end :D Very simple!

Love this video! Short and to the point. So helpful and generous! You have no idea how many 30min videos I had to go through just to get exactly what you said in 5 mins! I've been printing up a storm using my new Silhouette Cameo. But I think I need a new printer as mine is really old and the colours that come out on my glossy adhesive paper are not good. Two questions:
1. When do you print on matte paper and when do you print on glossy paper? I'm assuming that the to-do labels, checklists, etc are on matte paper?
2. How do you make sure the paper doesn't stick to the sticky mat and not curl or even tear when you remove it off the mat? I ruined many good papers because the mat was so sticky!

+Christine Wang Yay! Aww that's so great to hear :D I was worried I would not have enough detail, but then worried I may have TOO much detail?? hehe. And I actually eventually got the courage to start the store after thinking and umming and being unsure for a while! So if you need any help with yours let me know, you know I'd be more than happy to help!
So how I decide what should be matte or glossy actually goes by what I would want (tbh the entire store is very driven by what I make for myself and I end up just formalising it and making extras). For things like labels and anything that really pops and adds structure to the layout I make glossy, especially for my Vertical planner. However stickers for my horizontal planner tend to all be matte for some reason. Don't know why, just how I felt like doing it! Personal taste :)
Ah this one tripped me up a lot at the start too! So I've read people recommend dabbing a clean tshirt over the sticky section a few times to reduce the stickiness. Then the other technique on top of that is when you are removing the sticker sheet, place the mat with the sticker sheet face down and then peel the mat instead of the sticker sheet off. Try and keep the sticker sheet are flat on the table as possible and let the matt do the curling instead. It works amazingly well each time for me! Hope that helps! My regular printer just shoots out blank paper. I am getting so frustrated! I can print using any other program or the internet but not in Silhouette. Do you know why ? It is my first time using Silhouette and I don't know why is doing this to me

+Angelia Ingram You can defintely use scissors :) I only use a cutting machine cause I find it easier since I create larger amounts of stickers, but for personal use scissors are perfect!

Is there any way to match the colors perfectly to the Erin Condren colors besides eye balling it? You could say I'm a perfectionist.
+Cheyenne Crosby So the way I do it is a bit tedious, but I find it's the best way. I pick out the colours on my computer and great several different shades. I print it out and then place it on my Erin Condren planner and see which is closest and whether I need to go darker or lighter etc! Then I go to my computer, adjust and then print again and compare. I go back and forth doing this a few times till I feel I've got the right colour :) A bit of wastage, but I feel better at the end knowing I got the right colours :)
Can I ask what settings you used to achieve the kiss cut of the stickers?
+Amber Drake It varies a lot depending on the paper unfortunately :( But to give you an indication, I use it at speed 8 at thickness 4 when I use the avery white label paper featured in this video :)
This video is good and really helpful but I have the mint studio and I need someone to actually explain what buttons they are pressing and how to find it, this is very confusing

+Abie A it can cut all sorts of shapes with different degrees of pressure :) You can freehand where you want it to cut, and you can have it just cut the sticky part of the sticker paper so it doesn't cut right through, or even right through :) Very customisable!

+coolone011 Thanks! So when I was printing just for my personal use originally I probably changed it out like.. once every few months at most? If you're only making stickers for yourself then it's not often at all, I probably wasted more of it at the start when I was trying to work out the settings and when I was testing out my Silhouette for the first time.

+coolone011 Hmm... they are different to print lines yeah? Like if your printer isn't putting down enough ink then sometimes the image can look a bit light and show the print lines. If that's the case then I'd suggest you change the settings on your printers to print higher quality. However if you are getting messy streak lines, sound slike maybe there is dust or something in the printer? Hope you fix it soon!

+Pauline Benavente Hi! It's just a piece of text that I put anywhere I want on the sticker sheet. Imagine you're working with a completely blank canvas, just move the text and sticker shapes where ever you want :)
But does it print out the same time as the stickers?

I'm confused because when I see sticker sheets I buy their name is on it but its not cut out like the stickers. I guess what I'm confused about or want to know is how you put you name on the sheet without cutting it out with the other images?
what does ink jet mean? does the printer have to be ink jet?
+Cheyenne Crosby I personally prefer ink jet because it's cheaper for me :) But I know plenty of sticker stores that will use laser instead. So I think it comes down to preference.
Has anyone been able to find Avery glossy sticker paper? I have searched everywhere, including Ebay with no luck.
+Sara Hart I wonder if this depends which country you are from because I search ebay with the term, "glossy sticker paper" and I get lots of results from different stores which I like to test out. But a lot of them seem to be based in Australia for me since ebay can tell I live in Australia. I was hoping that would be the same for people living outside of Australia :( If this doesn't work for you I really hope someone can answer your question!
