I think honda boys love the 10th gen cuz it comes pre-riced out, whereas everybody else prefers the 11 cuz it actually looks like it should be worth 40k
@@RUclipsduude 40k is definitely way over priced for anything like that. A base model 5.0 Mustang gt in 2019 was 42k. No way any Civic is worth that

Regardless of people thinking it’s slow or fast, or even beautiful or ugly. The Type R is just too legendary. Just the name is iconic. The badge says it all. You pay for what you like. And the dealers know it…

couple corrections. HP is 315 and 310 TQ. It starts at 44k not 40. Last the markups are down considerably to around 5k and even seen some in NC for MSRP plus $600 in extras.

Where in NC? Just got one a couple days ago. Argued with the dealership for over 2 hours to take a 20k mark up off. Got it for basically MSRP. Noticed the dealerships will put the MSRP price online but in person the sales sticker has the mark up built into the "accessories" cost.
@NLong16992 bud I purchased mine in December 2022 for 5 over msrp....this RUclipsr is wrong and the cooling problems were solved.

when I bought my 2021 wrx new , I looked at different cars and the Type-R was going for 60k ... This is Los Angeles , CA.

the market changes. Modern Civics are bigger cars than in the past, and so is the new Corolla, Elantra, Sentra, etc. The new civic is almost accord territory, so the City will take the affordable place of the old civic.

Love the Type R, but the Type S caught my eye since the day they teased it.
well judging by how i work for a honda dealership and i have driven one of these i like them a lot and idk where you get 20k markup cause they're msrp for us. but besides that it is a good daily and track car and the cooling system has been upgraded

For a Civic, it is expensive and big.
But if you ignore the name, you get an excellent car for the money.
Plus, it is incredibly beautiful!

Sorry it's not a k20 it has more in common with the later more advanced F20C/F22CI FROM THE S2000.i have driven the new Nissan bi-turbo Z and the new type R, the civic was the car i bought in Black even though i loved the Nissan a great deal though as i owned the sunny zx of the 80s (Sentra in the US) to the 90s turbo 200 SX (SILVIA) and the awesome 1994 300zx bi-turbo tagra top, my last Nissan was a 370 Z which i bi-turbod the v6, it had 436 bhp from the wheels ,i also had the First late 90s JDM 185 bhp vtec 1600cc civic type R and i also managed to get a used imported JDM Mugen civic type RR in red (the only colour they made) and came with the 237 bhp related to the s2000 so i was told but some woman in 2016 smashed in to the back at approx 50 mph and bent the chassis really bad ,i was so broken hearted that that car was the last hot Honda i bought until this one and have done 2680 miles without any problems it's black with red front seats, the only complaint is that the car is only a 4 seater as there are 2 built in cup holders where the back middle seat should be, to my surprise it rides better than the last type r which i never purchased but have driven quite a bit as my close friend bought one in a sky blue colour.

where I live the type r starts at 85.6k no markups. which is about enough for a m4 comp in the states which is crazy
Mehhh. They should have kept the Si and Type R close to the same HP, and left 300+ for the new Integra. As a previous owner of an 8th Gen (the best Gen) Si, I think this is a fine car, but a bad Civic that should’ve been a different model.
Granted, I’ve never been in one or driven one and my opinion may change if I do.
Them dealership mark ups are the reason why its so hard to own them. It also done on purpose to make them rare.

2024 and 2 are sitting at a dealer near me bc they’re trying to charge $5k mark up. Dumb bc used CTR’s are on the market now for much less than original MSRP

The 2024 corolla GR has more hp out of a 3 cylinder, is AWD and weighs less. Honda still isn't producing anything worthy even with this civic type R

Dealer markups need to be abolished. We all know it's bs. I remember when companies were telling off the dealers, saying if they kept marking up their signature and flagship models, they would not send any more to the dealership. I was so happy to see that, but maybe it was a lie. After a while of the bs, nobody's going to buy these types of cars from dealers anymore. They'll go to direct to consumer markets to buy it.

I’ve seen worse mark ups for the new Type R, the Honda dealership I worked at Sold for $25k over MSRP
@luisloera1309 that was at the beginning, but it's been over a year that they've been out. Am I saying that there's no more dealers trying to rip people off? Course not, but there are a lot of great deals out there. I've seen them first hand.
