Not to be morbid, but when I got in the car to drive my cat to the vet to be put down due to inoperable cancer, I hit shuffle on Hammock to have something in the background. This song was the first one to play, with the drive being pretty much the length of this track. I sobbed for the entirety of that drive, telling her how sorry I was for not being able to help more. She was eleven years old, and I probably only missed a total of a week or two of that timeframe. I wondered if I would be able to listen this song following her death due to the memory it is tied to, but I am happy it reminds me of her. It is a beautiful song by a wonderful duo, and they have contributed to a large portion of the soundtrack to my memories since around 2006. I told her I would see her again, and this song helps me feel like I will.
From my favorite album from Hammock, NWES. I wish they would do more albums like this. So ethereal. I listen to this album on repeat for my long days developing software and writing code. My programming flows like the feelings of this music. I buy all of their albums yet I find their earlier work so much more expressive.
Such gentle melancholy and distant longing...this is pure feeling in musical form

When I hear this song I imagine looking up at frost covered mountains and a dazzling aurora borealis dancing in the night skies above

This sends me into a trance. Meditative and healing.
