Incredible list! I used to spend hours playing CT special forces but forgot it after years, thank you so much for reminding me of it. Other games seem neet too.
Great video Reggie! I added a few more games to my wishlist. Here are my recommendations. X-Men: The Official Game - A really fun underrated action platformer/beat’em up. Capcom Mini Mix - NES Strider/Bionic Commando/Mighty Final Fight, enough said! Pac-Man Pinball - a fun pinball game with a pinball theme. Shaman - a Castlevania type game. Pinball of the Dead - Pinball game with zombie & cool board.
If you cant get the disc for the player, get an action replay disc with a SD card reader mem card adapter. You can get them to work if you look up the guide this way.
Ya, action replay disc and sd card adapter for the memory card slot is a better option. Gameboy interface is better than the official gameboy player software. For HDMI adapter, I use GBIsr with 3x scaling at 240p60 and have my tv zoom in, looks pretty good. I also have the HDMI adapter do scan lines for 240p output
Wow Super Ghouls and Ghosts for GBA is now a must have for me! Didn't realize it had all those extra features. Hopefully its not a expensive game. Well off to ebay to find out LOL
Madlittlepixel - Keep is updated. I know how it is to be on a hunt for games that fell off the radar. I am happy and lucky to be able to have had the know with all to get almost all the games I ever wanted close to it’s original release. I own a CIB almost every GBA game I could ever want with few exceptions. Same with Nintendo 64 games.
Heck yeah I managed to score me Billy Bkazes Rescue Heroes for 6$ on eBay!! Thanx Reggie, you have great taste in games. I enjoy these types a lot for some reason.
I own both CT Special Forces games and I enjoyed it even though I never bet either one. I remember going to EB Games and asking about the second games release all the time. When it finally came out, that particular store only got a single copy, which I believe was about to be gutted for display until I asked for it. Same situation with the Game Boy version of Shante published by Capcom. There was a lone copy behind the glass display and the manager made subtle degrading comments stating how come everyone is asking about this game and why would they want a game that has a female lead character? He looked at me strange when I made my purchase. Lo-and-behold, less than 20,000 copies of Shante for the GBC were ever made and a CIB physical copy can run you over $175 easy. While I am on memory lane here, I also remember being in the hunt for two games that happen to be developed/published by Crawfish/Capcom; Street Fighter Alpha for the GBC and Game Boy Advance. Again, two more games that were sold in very limited quantities and just like Shante and CT Special Forces, they were hell in trying to find a new sealed copy to purchase. Hard work paid off including enduring weird looks whole I purchased these games for the regular standard price of $29.99 and now many of my games are worth nearly seven times the amount presently.
Reggie, remember a lot of early GBA games such as Castlevania and Donkey Kong Country has seen their backgrounds brighten to compensate for the GBA screen being too dark for whatever reason. This is a situation where hardware dictated game design.
There are quite a few Wayforward games worth mentioning: X-men: The Official Game Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris Tak: The Great Juju Challenge American Dragon Jake Long: Attack of the Dark Dragon Godzilla: Domination Not so sure if they are hidden gems, but they are gems none-the-less.
Interesting! My recommendations: Bomberman Tournament (action-adventure) Bookworm (puzzle game) ChuChu Rocket! (puzzle) Denki Blocks! (puzzle) Desert Strike Advance (shoot-'em-up) Disney Sports: Soccer (sports) Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure (sports) Disney's Kim Possible 3: Team Possible (platformer) DK: King of Swing (action) Egg Mania (puzzle) Gradius Galaxies (shoot-'em-up) Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games (sports) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (role-playing) Karnaaj Rally (racing) Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer (sports) The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night (platformer) The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (strategy) The Lost Vikings - (puzzle) Max Payne (shoot-'em-up) Mech Platoon (strategy) Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (action-adventure) Polarium Advance (puzzle) Puyo Pop (puzzle) Racing Gears Advance (racing) Rayman 3 (platformer) Rebelstar: Tactical Command (role-playing) Robopon 2 Ring and Cross Versions (role-playing) Sabre Wulf (platformer) Scurge: Hive (action-adventure) Shaman King: Master of Spirits 2 (action-adventure) Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace (platformer) Spy Hunter (vehicular combat simulator) Super Dodge Ball Advance (sports) Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King (action-adventure) The Tower SP (construction and management simulator) Turbo Turtle Adventure (puzzle) Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan (action-adventure) Wing Commander: Prophecy (space combat simulator)
Love CT Special Forces (1&2) and Super Ghouls n Ghosts. - I didn't know about he extra extra levels in Super GnG, I'll definitely be revisting it, probably using the Gamecube player. I pretty much just tossed it to the side as yet another copy of Super Ghouls n Ghosts, cuz I have both home console versions. - Looking into importing CT Special Forces 3. Definitely looking into Tang Tang , Boulder Dash EX, Rescue Heroes and A Sound of Thunder. - I enjoyed the movie for A Sound of Thunder, 'butterfly effect' plot, got in the Walmart bargain bin years ago. Thanks for the video Reggie!
seriously got into the GBA after watching yours and metal jesus' hidden gems videos. I never gave this handheld the respect that it deserved until now. The GBA is a remarkable system that has aged extremely well and is still very in modern times. HUGE catalog of games and it was basically the continuation of the SNES which was awesome. Thanks for the videos man and keep collecting!
I completely forgot about CT Special Forces, I really enjoyed those. Sound of Thunder guys made Max Payne for GBA. Never got to play SoT but Max Payne was good.
A gundam game yes lol I do enjoy the seed battle assault game and I normally dont like fighters. Gonna have to look for that firefighter game for sure!
Awesome list Reggie! Great games! Have you tried the game Gekido Advance: Kintaro's Revenge? Basically its a Beat em up, side scrolling game, but instead of fighting thugs, you are fighting the undead. But this is not just some brainless game, there's a bit of puzzle solving involve as well. There was a PlayStation release of the same name Gekido: Urban Fighters, but I think the GBA version is a stand alone. If you see it in your hunt, give it a shot. Oh and the music is pretty good too. Kinda creepy.
Awesome stuff! Do you do much important gaming for your GB / GBA systems? I've recently gotten into picking up imports when they're cheaper than the NA release and you don't need to know Japanese for them.
Great vid as always, way to add firefighting game. :) There are definitely a few great games that are masked as simple kid games on the GBA. How could you not mention sir Ben Kingsley when you were talking about the sound of thunder movie. Lol
Code of princess is a spirtual sequel to Guardian heroes but story wise it's a comedy so there is that. I never heard of Billy Blazes and as a teenager you wouldn't pick up a fischer-price branded game but seeing the footage the game has a lot in common with the Mighty Switch force games on the 3DS, these games are a lot harder as they have a timer but also more puzzle elements but clearly find their roots in this game.
Great vidéo on gba as always Reggie. For me Bruce Lee the return of the legend is real hidden gem, not as good as the c 64 version, but Whaou!!!!!, what à great game. And happy That you notice Boulder Dash, i love the gba version what a pleasure to play thé original version on gba.
Call me a weirdo but the GBA is my favourite console, handheld or otherwise. There are just so many great games for it. Lots of great remakes, tons of quirky titles and loads of interesting original IP's. And it's the only console to have THREE F-Zero games which can only be a bonus!
awesome video, a bunch of games Ive never heard of. Although could you put the names in the corner or something, because it took me a bit to find that it was CIMA: the enemy lol
Reggie, I’ve watched several of your GBA vids. Great lists, but I have to whine about one thing. You didn’t mention Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. In fact, in the numerous videos I’ve watched about GBA games and “gems” all over RUclips, I haven’t seen any love for this game. It looks just as good as Rayman 3 and is an updated version of Pitfall with a hidden portal on one level that lets you play the old arcade version. I’ve loved that game since the first time I rented it on the SNES.
Now these are REAL hidden gems. I love CT Special Forces, but the gameplay is a bit slower and stealthier than Metal Slug. I hate stealth, but that game is cool. I might add Onimusha Tactics, Ninja Five-O, Revenge of Shinobi, Lufia: Ruins of Lore, Pocky and Rocky, and Shining Force to the list if you're making another vid.
Hello. This is off topic, but can anyone recommend me a good battery replacement pack for a GBA SP? I see a lot of options on Amazon but I am not sure which is the best one. Thank you.
i should try to make friends with more Retro gamers. I mean, all my friends yelling PS4! YES!!! I never hear ANYBODY talking about CT Special Forces, absolutely FANTASTIC games!
Guardian Heroes and a pimped out Super Ghouls n Ghosts for GBA? How did these slip past me all these years? Sound of thunder looks sweet, great video!
Good job, Reggie, greetings from the Czech Republic!
I love your people. Czechs are so hot. The Czech republic is such a beautiful country.
I'm about to buy a Game Boy player and an HDMI adapter for my gamecube. These gba games won't know what hit'em! Always like your recommendations.
Kringhetto I still have mine so amazing
make sure you get the software disc with the player
Bought a Game Boy player last weekend! And it is fantastic. :D Never thought about a HDMI adapter tho.. Good tip haha thanks. :D
If you cant get the disc for the player, get an action replay disc with a SD card reader mem card adapter. You can get them to work if you look up the guide this way.

I love programming for the GBA. Such a great system and selections of great games.
Reggie, would you mind listing the games in the description?
Sean Adams I was going to post the same thing
sure'
Thumbs up for the Guardian heroes GBA. Love that game. Glad to see it get some RUclips love.
Wow Super Ghouls and Ghosts for GBA is now a must have for me! Didn't realize it had all those extra features. Hopefully its not a expensive game. Well off to ebay to find out LOL

Thanks for making this Reggie.
looks like another trip to the rom site
GBA had so many games released for it XD haha Was basically the android / google play store of that era
This sentence makes me sad for how true the statement is now.
Muy buenos juegos y sobretodo gran consola
buen video, sigue asi, un gran abrazo desde colombia
.
Always showing one I need, or a throwback. Always worth a watch

Another excellent video of GBA, I would recommend that at the end of the video you will quickly show the box and cartridge of the game.
just saw a vid of sound of thunder coop mode- yup its proper 2player simultaneous action! Very cool...
Thanks for your video on gba games, I already saw all of them and it's so cool :)
man, is it Christmas already?! ANOTHER reggie video!?
The GBA had a great batch of hidden gems that are now mostly forgotten. Thanks for bringing some of them to light again
Reggie, remember a lot of early GBA games such as Castlevania and Donkey Kong Country has seen their backgrounds brighten to compensate for the GBA screen being too dark for whatever reason.
This is a situation where hardware dictated game design.
So good man, i love your style of games, exactly what I like. I play Metal slug still today heaps. Best games!
There are quite a few Wayforward games worth mentioning:
X-men: The Official Game
Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris
Tak: The Great Juju Challenge
American Dragon Jake Long: Attack of the Dark Dragon
Godzilla: Domination
Not so sure if they are hidden gems, but they are gems none-the-less.

CT special forces(the third one) was pretty popular here in Australia
Love CT Special Forces (1&2) and Super Ghouls n Ghosts.
- I didn't know about he extra extra levels in Super GnG, I'll definitely be revisting it, probably using the Gamecube player. I pretty much just tossed it to the side as yet another copy of Super Ghouls n Ghosts, cuz I have both home console versions.

Awesome job Reggie thanks for a great list to check out

Reggie, my man when I want nice, cool and relaxing video. Love your gems selection! Keep up the great work!
Great video. Wasnt aware of the exclusive levels in ghouls n ghosts for gba, and one time through is much better.
Another great list, Reggie!
seriously got into the GBA after watching yours and metal jesus' hidden gems videos. I never gave this handheld the respect that it deserved until now. Another awesome video keep up the great content
Great video Reggie, I had no idea gba ghouls n ghosts had all those extras! And the last game, Soubd of Thunder, I think I'll try to hunt down
Another great GBA gems video!
8:00 - Looks like Mischief Makers from the N64. The character’s name even sounds familiar. “Cerena”.
Oh wow on the guardian hereos game. Definitely need to play that one.
I didn’t know about a lot of these. Keep it up! Love your hidden gem videos.
I completely forgot about CT Special Forces, I really enjoyed those.
Sound of Thunder guys made Max Payne for GBA. Never got to play SoT but Max Payne was good.
Cima looks awesome, and A Sound of Thunder honestly looks like a game that pushes the GBA to its absolute limits.
A gundam game yes lol I do enjoy the seed battle assault game and I normally dont like fighters. Gonna have to look for that firefighter game for sure!
Awesome video. I love the GBA.
Hey Reggie, enjoyed the video, keep it up!!!!
Really want to try A sound of thunder now... I'd love a DS hidden gem video next time!

So many hidden gems, so little time.
Lol
I'll pickup a few so we can pay co-op, good vid dude!
Retro Game Players where’s today’s video dude?
Code of princess is a spirtual sequel to Guardian heroes but story wise it's a comedy so there is that.

I recommend you to try "Action Man Robot Atak", is kind of CT Special Forces, with and average to high fun factor.
Call me a weirdo but the GBA is my favourite console, handheld or otherwise. There are just so many great games for it. Lots of great remakes, tons of quirky titles and loads of interesting original IP's. And it's the only console to have THREE F-Zero games which can only be a bonus!
Literally just found that gundam game at a garage sale today
awesome video, a bunch of games Ive never heard of. Although could you put the names in the corner or something, because it took me a bit to find that it was CIMA: the enemy lol
Thanks Reggie. I haven't seen any of these games, I'll check em out.
Bro gundam seed battle assault is one of my favorite GBA games.
Thanks Reggie. Great suggestions!
LOVED G Gundam
Dude I found a damn near new GBA at my boys house he had played it only once In his life and I snagged it for 10 bucks!
Reggie, I’ve watched several of your GBA vids. Great lists, but I have to whine about one thing. You didn’t mention Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure.

I’ve loved that game since the first time I rented it on the SNES.
Solomons key was 🔥
Wait, super ghouls and ghosts was on GBA? I'm shocked that I didn't know that!
If you haven't check out "shaman king: master of spirits" I'm loving it
Now these are REAL hidden gems.
CT special forces looks legit.
If you want a hidden gem that’ll totally surprise you, check out ‘Lilo & Stitch’. It totally plays like a Metal Slug game and it’s hard.
There is a third CT special forces game 'bioterror' that was only released in PAL territories..
Love your videos keep up the good work bro
It always seems like almost every gba game has 20 minutes of txt to go through at the beginning
I don't know why but I thought the port of Catwoman for the gba was pretty good.
I found out this week Psp has also a ghost n goblins game. And in this region it is pretty rare
Hi Reggie, you should make a video with top 50 Best gba games. I know there are some similar videos on RUclips but your opinion is important
hahaha that cut at 5:42
😆
Incoming price increase!! Jk love the vids Reg!
Did you say both games? CT Special forces... are 3 games man. The third one was europe-only.
tonk82 is it good?
I own the 3 games... biy i haven't played them yet. I tested it for a coupel of minutes... looks and plays like the other 2, i think.
Thanks! I expect it's probably good then!
There is a ct special forces 3 on the gba, and its 2 player
Hello. This is off topic, but can anyone recommend me a good battery replacement pack for a GBA SP? I see a lot of options on Amazon but I am not sure which is the best one. Thank you.
Shaman king a good one
I wonder how you found out these games, really hidden hidden gem
Please put a photo of the box of the games Reggie!
El Cejotas why? You can easily look that up yourselves
I have the Gundam game. :)

You own a lot of games I guess.
Hmm i thought you mentioned CT Special Forces in the last GBA hiddem gems? Correct me if I'm wrong....not that I'm complaining.

i should try to make friends with more Retro gamers. I mean, all my friends yelling PS4! PC MASTERRACE! or SWITCHGANG! but im just here like
"Guys i beat sly cooper 2 band of thiefs yesterday it was fun"
and they look at me like
"Lmao Wtf is that? Stop playing that old shit! Get wit the times bruh"
But New modern gaming is Wack. PAYWALLS. Microtransaction, Broken games that need day 1 patches! ect.
and tbh i dont wanna be apart of that.
So many classics out there that are amazing Snes/Ps1? Ps2? Bruh. I got a lifetime worth of games from the ps2 era alone.
But i might buy a nintendo switch. Because smash and Splatoon. those games seems very fun. oh and that zelda and mario. They looks real good.
