I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, these atomic refractors, I am missing 4 to complete the run and all mine are either in a PSA 10 or BGS 9.5. I really like the very first atomic refractor which is the highest priced one. If I remember correctly Bryan, didn’t you crack and resubmit card #80 and received a PSA 10? Anyways, well done describing each one of these cards.
Apparently, the red color deteriorates over time. This causes the green to stand out. Kyle / The Wax Museum had a guest who worked for the company Topps used for this tech.
Only 9 more for me to go mate, thanks for the reminder XD ;) Best Cuts Die-Cut would still have to be the fave, bit biased but always loved the black jersey on MJ the most
Very informative and interesting video. My favorite is definitely the 1997 Bowman’s Best Best Performance- will likely be the only one I go after out of these
I think most of these ARs are undervalued and I could never figure why but after this video I’m sure that’ll change 😂. My favorite might be the Honor Roll. It has an image of Jordan that is so unique from every other Jordan used and it captures his persona on the court perfectly. I freaking love it. I can get a Jordan in triple threat, jump shot, or dunking a dime a dozen but where else can I get him vehemently rebuking a teammate for that turnover?! I collect Pistol mostly and the hunt for the topps stars ARs were a real chase but I was able to pick them all up for sub $200. The class acts AR is the only one that I have no desire for. There’s just too much going on in the design for me, especially the borders, and I don’t care for Stackhouse at all.
I don't think it's worth buying a high grade refractor from the 1996 and 1997 years because of the greening. Many of the high grade refractors have already turned green, after the slabbing, so if you get the cards regraded, it would have regraded as lower grades, due to surface deterioration. I think those insists on getting high grade cards that have turned green, cares more about the slabbed grade than the cards' actual conditions. If I was looking for a MJ refractor card, the best one for me would be a medium grade (6-8) with great centering, corner, and surface (excluding the greening).
I consider the 96 Finest "Gold" Rare Refractor and the 97 Finest "Gold" Rare Embossed Refractor to be an Atomic as well. Both are also by Topps with the same Atomic Refractor design. They're just missing the Atomic title LoL What are your thoughts on this Cajun?
I just wanted to point out there just aren't many "chrome" refractors of MJ either. No parellels in the 1996 or 1997 set were refractors. 1998 had the seasons best shooting stars and topps 40. Edit- I don't consider wizards cards either. I can't afford any of them unless I consolidate sooo I'm def not pumping
@@cajuncardboard aww man thought you would give me something. 93 Scoring Kings, 98 Topps Legacies or the 97 Row 0 Legacy Collection. Those would be amazing atomics
Great video. Maybe there is a 13th ? I know the card doesn’t state atomic on the back (nor the world Gold) but the 1996 Topps Finest Gold MJ is also an atomic refractor. It was recently discussed in PWCC / fanatics collect recap episodes when a PSA 9 sold for $5, 280 (June 9) , a 10 went sold for $18,850 (June 16), & a 10 with coating sold for $21,600 (July 14).
The 1996 finest gold and 1997 gold embossed die cut both use the same “atomic refractor” technology/look but they are NOT atomic refractors. They are just considered standard refractors. For some reason in these two years, Topps chose to use standard refractor technology for bronze cards, a “mosaic” look for silver refractors, and the gridded “atomic” look for golds (gold embossed die cuts in 97-98).
"A blue collar $600 - $700" was your best one liner. 2nd best was your reaction to "lady cave"
😂😂😂😂
Another great learning experience! Can’t get enough of this stuff👊
Glad to hear it!
I’ve bought PSA 10 Techniques at $300+ a couple of years ago. Glad I did. Awesome video. Those 90’s atomics are some of my favorite cards!
Thanks for watching Joe!!
Your video's are great. I appreciate all the information and knowledge. Which helps me learn also. So keep up the great work. 👍🏾

Oh nice - this video should see a nice little bump of 20% on the atomics 😂.. we slept on atomics
The prices will go where they go and ultimately find a saturation point.
I really don't think he's pumping things up to sell at a profit. Just good content
I’d guess the ‘96 B.Best sets also carry more value (vs ‘97) being the inaugural year and also associated with the ‘96 draft class (more desirable).

I’m going with the Bc#2. Beautiful card
Definitely Some Greening On MJ On The Honor Roll Atomic
96 CATS baby!
OMG, Delk, Anderson, Mercer, Walker, the list goes on, McCarty, etc. my favorite college team ever. Go Cats
Don't hate on the #60, and he's dunking wearing his 12's ;)

They are but they technically aren’t so I left both out.
Lady cave 😂
Love the deep dive on these! What would you estimate the print run was on the Bowman’s Best ones?
Not sure. I’m not smart enough to reverse engineer the pack odds. I’ll leave that to a non-cajun

But hmmmm that would also make a nice video.
Out of every Jordan card ever, which card do you think has the most greened copies? I’m going with the 1993 Finest #1
93 finest #1 or stadium club class acts. My two choices
If I could make any card from a heirarchy, an Atomic Refractor, which one would you pick?
It’s not about me!!!! I like honor roll though.

The 97 No. 60 just was never a card I liked because the giant ball on half of the card. It’s just makes the design of this card ugly to me.
Would love to own the T2 Atomic one day. Great video!!!
Thanks for watching!

@@kylekampling3007 yep. Thank you. Unofficial atomic refractors. 🤷
It is but it isn’t. 👍
Exactly.
