  • Exploring the southern perimeter of the 'western slopes'.
Significant mounds of chalk material from the tunnelling operations still remain for landscaping the southern side of the rail alignment-not sure if any has been done so far..

Excellent footage as ever, QM. Yeah, that's a huge amount of chalk piled up to the south possibly in readiness to landscape the construction site when it is decommissioned. I don't suppose the tunnel segment factory will be there for much longer.
It's a small detail but I'm impressed with what they've achieved with the Tilehouse Lane realignment. They could have just laid a strip of tarmac through what was, basically, an open field. With the banking each side, a brand new road already has the appearance of having been there for decades if not centuries. Keep 'em coming 👍

Thanks Dave. 👍 From the outside it looks like a lot of effort has gone into to planning for the non-rail stuff..It’ll be nice when this area opens again to the public in a couple of years time or so!

Extraordinary lots of mystery mounds! Will they be wooded?

Hi Peter, up and down the line mounds seem to be a feature of the project! The images I’ve seen is there will be some small wooded areas in this area and around the portal.
