Thanks for this. HS2 is really coming together this year. Will be exciting to see trains running over this and breaking UK speed records in regular service.

At 225mph HS2 will have to hug the Earth. These precisely engineered viaducts play a crucial role for the high-speed trains.

Although HS2 trains will be "capable" of travelling at 225mph, the reality is that top speeds will never be achieved on what's left of this monstrous vanity project - basically a shuttle service between west London & Birmingham.
Wthin a decade of opening, (in about 50 years time given the current rate of progress), these horrendous concrete monstrosities (viaducts), will become nothing more than glorified cycle paths.
HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.

@@CRIMSONANT1 you remind me of those Japanese soldiers still fighting WW2 in the 60s not realising the battle was over

@@yindee372.. the HS2 "battle" was over long ago.
What was billed as a ground breaking, "high speed" railway linking the South with the North & beyond has now been reduced to nothing more than a shuttle service between London & Birmingham.
      Golborne link - scrapped.
      Eastern Leg - scrapped.
      Northern leg - scrapped.
This monstrous vanity project has been a disaster since day one & continues to be so.

Great video. Amazing that the whole viaduct is being pushed along in sections to avoid construction along its full length. Also shows how narrow the footprint of HS2, when completed, is going to be.

@@CRIMSONANT1 The only mistake is listening to the codswallop. How many miles of new ROAD construction using HS2 funding has been committed by Harper since cancellation entrenching the primacy of road. Pat yourself on the back you darn fool.

Good video, WN. How are they 'sliding' this deck? I can't see any evidence of 'pushing' or 'pulling' mechanisms.

The red support columns 1:35 have rollers on top. At the end of the bank there are some larger red mechanisms see 2:28 , probably strand jacks. Other YT videos show the jacking in action
