A little update KS and WDM will not work properly if you are trying to play an MP3 through windows default media player and having it run through the VB-virtual audio cable, the sound ends up sound like a blown out speaker with crackles and noise ( regardless of how low the media setting is). I tested playing mp3 and flac files in Media Player Classic Home Cinema and the noise problem went away. I'm not sure of the actual cause though. The drivers seem to all be working correctly as well. I'm wondering if I'll be monitoring my audio through voicemeeter rather than OBS though cause there is audio output to stream directly.
So second update: I found out that the cause for static when using a virtual audio cable for WDM or MME, its usually a problem of sample rate. Lowering the sample rate for the cable MIGHT fix the problem but I've noticed it only makes it worse by lowering sample rate in the vb-audio cable settings menu. It's better to go in to settings of VoiceMeeter and set the sample rate for WDM at 2048 samples which is the highest you can go. The default 512 is usually not enough on new machines. MME is set at default 1024. I say pump it up one level to 1536 samples. This should fix the problem. Using KS virtual point just limits options. and KS sample rate should be kept at default unless you have to use KS and are still experiencing problems. In that case set KS to 2048 samples.
This video helped a bunch I was messing around with some settings a while back and my friends could always hear themselves through my mic and I couldn't remember for the life of me what to revert to fix it lol
Such an amazing video that is quick and easy to understand. I appreciate your ability to make the video so clear and concise, its exactly what I needed. Such an amazing quick start guide to this program.

I'm surprised you made it fit in such a short video, great job! I recently tried to set this up for my father, but perhaps due to him not having the newest windows update or wrong drivers he can't right click on an app on ear trumpet. We managed to make it work by using OBS, but it isn't ideal. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows a non-round way of doing this.

Hi. I came here by indication in a forum. Do you have any video showing how I can setup my pc to play the game sound in my Pimax Crystal and, at the same time, in a different source such as HDMI cable connected to a Yolobox pro? I've watched a lot of videos but no solution for my problem. I've thought using a cable for audio but it didn't work as well because I can't setup as a second audio source. My Crystal and the HDMI cable to Yolobox are connected in a RTX 4090. Please, if you can help, I'd be very grateful.
Also, what do I do when my system doesn't tally with your explanation - like for example; at 1:34 you show your Sound Control Panel where you have three VM selections - main - aux & VAIO. I only have one Voicemeeter input.
I've set up voicemeter many times. I use it to spam music in voice chat in games. Whenver I try to sing along with my soundtrack, my vocals are always delayed. How do I set it up so I can sync with my sountracks?
Hi I have a question. When I start up my PC do I have to open voice meeter for all my default audio to work? Because I closed it after I was done using my microphone. And things like RUclips lost it's audio after I closed voice meeter. Thanks in advance 😊
So, on the Sound Control Panel, I only have the VoiceMeeter Aux Input? None other. Same for output, only the VoiceMeeter Aux Output. I already installed the virtual cable from the same website and restarted my PC. On VoiceMeeter Banana's virtual inputs area, the VoiceMeeter VAIO section says "no driver present". I don't know what it means, nor do I know how to fix it. Would appreciate some help, thanks.
I followed your directions and it works well. But, I noticed a static sound coming from my headphones. It’s not constant but still kinda cringe. Any tips??
If I don't want to talk through a microphone but just want to play music into a chat do I still need to set a mic for hardware input 1? Or can I set hardware input 2 to B1 or 2 and have music play into a chat?
Sonar sound beautiful, its only issue is it has only 1 mic input and 2 audio outputs, I need as minimum 3 inputs and 5 outputs or if I wrong let me know please, thank you

Hey man, I could really use your expertise right now. I'm trying to set up my condenser mic for use in Teams meetings and video blogs on my PC. I've got all the gear I need - the mic, the 48V Phantom power supply, and a USB audio interface. However, when I tested it out, my voice sounded too low. So, I decided to install Voicemeeter (the basic version) to boost the gain. I followed you video, but now, I'm worried I've messed things up. There's some weird reverberation going on, and I'm not sure if my sound configuration is right. Can you lend me a hand? Thanks!
ok so i set it up as you said but now i cant control the desktop audio normally? i have to adjust it in voicemeeter? using the normal settings it doesnt matter if i put it at 1 or 100 its the same volume
Im trying to follow the instructions. But EVERYTIME I select VM input as default. It wont allow me to click the VM AUX as the default comms?? If I try to make VM aux default Comms 1st. The VM input then flashes "ready" but its not staying as the default??
So no idea if this is possible..I'm running cubase using asio4all as it's driver(good for latency) Also running RUclips on chrome. Also running a music player (jriver) Can I get all 3 software(apps) running into VBanana and outputting through my headphones...without having to close apps..?currently I have to close cubase to 'release the audio driver' then I can hear what's on RUclips. Will voicebanana act as a mixer for various software inputs or can that not happen?
I don't know if I managed to do something wrong but I followed your video to the letter and my communications section (the one next to the one labeled desktop) doesn't show any activity when I speak. Apps like discord hear me fine. What am I doing wrong?
Two people , two headsets one computer, how to set up Voicemeeter I wouldn´t hear own voice, only friend´s voice and we should hear each other? I am using basic version. now virtual input A is selected so I can hear the youtube video and also my voice what I don`t want to hear and my mic input I have selected A selection ,otherwise there is no output for the my and friend´s voice for the video editing software. How I get rid of my own voice and still get it through output to video editor? Do I need Banana version for it and what is set up for it?
Why (1) does audio from RUclips always get output to speakers when control panel Sound Playback is set to speakers or Voicemeeter Input ? But (2) when the audio comes from VLC video, output to the speakers only occurs when Sound Playback is set to Voicemeeter Input. No sound when speakers selected . Thanks
I got a new headset, an Actis NOva Pro. I can't seem to set it up right when following your tutorial, the sound disappears while I hjave my Voicemeter running
2:33 Hello, I know this is much later but I hope I might get some help; perhaps due to updates, I do not see 'VoiceMeeter Output' or the Aux Output, I instead see 'VoiceMeeter Out B1'. When I set this as my default and communications device and test it on Discord, for example, it repeats everything at a gradually higher pitch, infinitely. Anyone have any idea how I fix this?

I lost audio the minute I installed hence why I am now watching you on my phone 😂
Some of the settings and configuration that's easily found/configured in Windows 10 is very different to how to set them in Windows 11.
thank you sir. I want to ask if I can adjust an mp3 file through this software (adjust my voice recorded in the mp3 file to sound better)
Such an amazing video that is quick and easy to understand. I appreciate your ability to make the video so clear and concise, its exactly what I needed. Such an amazing quick start guide to this program.
I'm slow but pausing the video and doin exact what u did helped me a lot. thank you thank you thank you!
Do you have a video where the voicemeter send the mixes from the PC to your phone via wireless connectivity, I'm trying to set this up as an in-ear monitoring for live performance.
in my Sound > Recording there is no Voicemeeter Aux Output. theres just a bunch of Voicemeeter Out A1 A2 A3 A5 etc... ??
use voicemeter out b2 that one worked for me
omg beest tutorial ever!! its super super helpful!! Thank you so much please continue posting more videos about anything your so simple so easy explaning things!! its hard to find people who are clear and concise but you make it easy and less stresful!! GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER!
quick question do i always have to have it open if i want to listen to music or do i have to always change the settings when i dont want to use it?
I'm surprised you made it fit in such a short video, great job! I recently tried to set this up for my father, but perhaps due to him not having the newest windows update or wrong drivers he can't right click on an app on ear trumpet. We managed to make it work by using OBS, but it isn't ideal. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows a non-round way of doing this.
You can try using the tools built into windows - it seems eartrumpet is falling a little behind on its updates.
@@TheFranswahStudio If you mean system-> sounds -> app volume and device preferences. We already tried that, but the whole sound option isn't showing up for him in windows settings. Thanks for the fast reply.
2:40 I don't have a VoiceMeeter Aux Output. I do have Voicemeeter Out B1, B2 and B3 though, would one of them work? Maybe B2?
Everything worked until I had to start EarTrumpet. The program just won't start at all. Any alternative programs, or solutions?
Ok, everything managed to work out at first, BUT now the audio quality is absolutely dismal when using the Virtual Cable. When letting the audio play normally it's good, but with Virtual Cable it's soo buggy..
i have done step by step all of those but in discord when i set the microphone to default is not working only if i set thie to a specific option like Hige Definition Audio or something like this to work, any help? or is it ok??
I downloaded Virtual Cable, but it won't show up on my dropdown list when i click the arrows symbol ? What am i missing ?
I followed your directions and it works well. But, I noticed a static sound coming from my headphones. It’s not constant but still kinda cringe. Any tips??
If I don't want to talk through a microphone but just want to play music into a chat do I still need to set a mic for hardware input 1? Or can I set hardware input 2 to B1 or 2 and have music play into a chat?
Thank you so much man
This video has helped me more than you know setting up a racing sim with butt kicker. Ill highly recommend. Thanks
Sonar sound beautiful, its only issue is it has only 1 mic input and 2 audio outputs, I need as minimum 3 inputs and 5 outputs or if I wrong let me know please, thank you
Hi, I've just installed Voicemeeter and looked at some tutorials, but, I cannot do what I want now:
My numerical piano is connect with the MIDI cable to my computer, and I want to have the sounds of Aria Player 64 or Garritan CFX Lite, and in the same time the microphone of my webcam to be able to record or play piano and speak with my teacher through internet.
How should I set up the voicemeeter? I tried a lot of things, but I don't have a sound coming out from Aria Player. Sound with Webcam is OK.
Thank a lot
Think that with past 70 easy things for other are not always easy for me.
For the music part, if i turn down the bar will it still play loud though the mic or will it go down?
Thank you very much for your help. Working on setting up IRIG2 to Ableton using Voicemeter Banana and Virtual Cables. Using many IRIG apps is like designing water infrastructure. It can become a maze. ☕
For some reason it won’t show in the input and output in settings or on the sound control panel, do you have any tips to fix it
Thanks! What if under sound settings, I only have voicemeeter outputs?
Hi, not a techy person, but in need of some advise. I need to be able to have my PC sound (same incoming VOIP sound) go to another device so the sound is captured by Google Translate and also to my headsets, while simultaneously be able to use my mic...Any suggestions? Thanks
Thanks!
is it necessary to change the output?? I just want to use it for my mic
ok so i set it up as you said but now i cant control the desktop audio normally? i have to adjust it in voicemeeter? using the normal settings it doesnt matter if i put it at 1 or 100 its the same volume
Im trying to follow the instructions. But EVERYTIME I select VM input as default. It wont allow me to click the VM AUX as the default comms?? If I try to make VM aux default Comms 1st. The VM input then flashes "ready" but its not staying as the default??
For games like valorant would you set the audio input and output to default too?
So no idea if this is possible..I'm running cubase using asio4all as it's driver(good for latency)
Also running RUclips on chrome.
Also running a music player (jriver)
Can I get all 3 software(apps) running into VBanana and outputting through my headphones...without having to close apps..?currently I have to close cubase to 'release the audio driver' then I can hear what's on RUclips.
Great video but when i install VM it is only the base. How do i run the Banana version?
So this means if I wanted to have more than one output audio, I can use A2 & A3? Because sometimes I don't like using my earbuds all the time.
Your guides are always great, thanks!!
Glad you like them!
I have several vomeeters, 1,2,3,4, I didn't understand anything from your video how to set the program.
hello
is it possible to make it so a soundboard plays sounds through the mic, not the desktop, but i can still hear them?
