    This is absolutely incredible. Ive seen many guitarists try to cover this song, and Eddie is much like Jimi, and you really can't recreate their work. You can only interpret it with the right feeling, tone, and emotion. Michael does that in spades.

    Those facial expressions come from the notes hitting the soul. Reminds me of Carlos Santana. This is one of the greatest songs I've ever or will ever hear. It, at one point, took everything out of me, than gave me everything I needed at the time very few songs can bring you down and pick you up. It's like magic.

      You're right, it's when you're connecting to the notes and vibing with that primal human element of music that connects all races, peoples, and tongues. You can't help but just jam out and that's a full-body experience! 😎

    This is it my child , you got it.Maggot Brain is explanation of present moment through emotion channeled through a guitar. The reason people can't nail this song is because you can't recreate the emotion Hazel felt at that moment he played it , yoi nailed it and you made your own version. It's your state on that stage that was put in notes , let it pour out of you. I take my hat of to you.

There are many artists today who could probably paint the Mona Lisa better than the original...But, could they Conceive it? Could they reach down in their soul and CREATE it?? Therefore, IMHO, Eddie Hazel' s original piece is the GREATEST.

    Eddie would be proud. Only thing missing is that Rare Essence...of Maggot Brain: Eddie played like he just lost his Mother; not like he was on a Speed hallucinating trip 😎

    i wonder if he took lsd before the concert, its almost like the music was literally coming out of him, not even the guitar. in a metaphorical, possibly even metaphysical way if on lsd.

    Maggot Brain wasn't meant to be shred, it's played from the soul, anybody can shred, but if don't have that touch, you're nothing.

    • @0sumgamezzz435
      @0sumgamezzz435 7 лет назад +3

      That is exactly what I think. I see the kid is good, but there is no soul or feel in this effort. This is a deeply, deeply spiritual song. All that showboating ----- completely killed the essence...the vibe that George and Eddie created with this masterpiece. The title is correct. This cat shredded Maggot Brain ----- literally,

    • @MrCTruck
      @MrCTruck 6 лет назад +5

      Did you guys even listen to this. Feel free to put out your own cover or perhaps your qualifications for music critics

    • @0sumgamezzz435
      @0sumgamezzz435 6 лет назад +3

      I listened to it. My qualifications are listening to music for roughly 49 years. I've heard and listened to troves of Maggot Brain renditions from the original to this effort, and untold versions in between. (This being the least enjoyable ----- my opinion) Have you listened to any covers or the original? Do you know the backstory to this song when it was being composed ? I do. To me, the backstory matters when I check out covers of this song. This particular song strikes a really strong chord with me. This version, however, when juxtaposed to the real deal, is nothing more than a plethora of speedy bum notes, played by a guy with eyes feigning Maggot Brain induced orgasm. In other words he's faking it, now for some, obviously ----- that's good enough, but for others ---- faking it... ain't. That's all.

    • @SuperShaihulud
      @SuperShaihulud 6 лет назад

      MrCTruck- Listen to BB King play and you'll see the how a master gets the most from the least. Manual dexterity is great for magic tricks. For a musician, it has to be more than just a lot of notes. That you're impressed more by quantity than quality does not lend you credibilty as a 'critic'.

      Its like telling someone that for example, Black ppl are better than white and Hope he will see that after few years :P There's literally no differance at all. This kid put part of his soul into this one, this is the way he does that. Someone can play this song slower, someone shred to hell out. What matters is if they actually feel what they are playing, and yes, this guy felt that Perfectly
