Seen this movie when it was released mid 90s, I would guess 1994. I was a teenager 15 years old. I told my mates in school they had to see this movie it was great. Now in 2023 I'm a 44 year old single man. Can still remember this chanting song like yesterday lol.
This song has been stuck in my head everyday all day for 30 years now. From when i wake up in the morning until i goto sleep. I thought actually hearing the song would make it stop. Oh man, please stop being in my head 24/7
Love the vibe. We had a Brazilian capoeira teacher coming to our highschool to do a course. Me and my brother (who trained TKD) joined. It was an amazing experience. He was like: yeah sing! (One of which was this song). And: alright let's practice backhandsping today. So much joy and flow. He went on teaching in a different city (Amsterdam), which was a bit more difficult for us to reach. We started tricking and a few times visited him. I've got my handmade by the teacher berimbau too. This was 21 years ago. The joy like I see here still feels like home.
This song has been stuck in my head for so many years and years! Today i was singing it and had to go search on here for this clip! 😅 I and my younger broda’s practiced these steps a lot!
I know I’ve seen it, but I have absolutely no memory of this movie whatsoever and I have great memory. The only thing I remember about it is this damn song.
Im 40 ... and all through my childhood I was in the front yard and in the basement doing cartwheels singing both bananawayyy and "Lambada". They really thought something was wrong with me. 😂😂😂😂
I never even saw this movie. But I know a kid who did and it's been stuck in my head ever since. When I was a kid I thought this was how you break danced, ha ha
I'm self-taught in capoera (just something I was curious about after being trained in other martial arts since I was 6) thought I'd try as something just for fun and may as a dance style. Never thought it'd be so much fun trying to throw a trick, somersault or flip and keep falling until I got it right. It really is a fun style to learn self-taught or under tutelage.
@@bluntefied What the hell are you talking about? Dats song from their second capoeira lesson, not original from this roda. Its not on OST or anywhere else, i think. I never found full version of it.
My neices mother started to learn Brazilian Jujitsu. When she got into a fight with my brother, she started to do the dance. I cant help but laugh thinking she was about to go.

My entire life. I say in my Brain: "Bananaway. Bananaway Ba nana"
Makes it the two of us. It lives free rent in my head and rightly so 😅
