No it's ok guys, I predicted they would protect Nadu with a spell, that's why I saved two removal spells... wait how are they abusing the ability to ramp 2 and draw 3... and... they drew into a counterspell...
The first time I read Nadu when it was spoiled I misread it as it can only trigger twice a turn period. That it's per creature is just deranged and the designer of that card needs to have an assistant hired to sanity check their ideas because what the actual eff?
Legitimately, they missed every opportunity to bring the card somewhat in line. Land could come in tapped? Nope. Stat line on top of the ability? 3/4 Flying. Don’t put the card in hand if it’s not a land? Nope. It’s like it’s designed to break the game. I hope it gets banned from commander somewhat quickly.
It's a perfectly fine card for the format it's designed for. It's very good in brawl/commander, though probably not better than the best. It is extremely unfun to play and play against though.
To have a difference between taplands and non-taplands - I guess.. Could play spelunking if they did come tapped.. They come into play ubtapped because - they did not make it so that they'd come in tapped.. Dunno if they intendet the card to be absolutely busted or if it was an oversight or something.. But they could have made it not give ability to creatures but simply have the ability whenever a creature -- so it would be max 2 times a turn per Nadu not max 2 times a turn per creature and that would have been simpler and similar to previous cards like Venerated Rotpriest - and they did not - -so looks quite intentional.

I don’t know how I feel about this card in regular Commander, the way it interacts with stuff like Shuko. “I guess I’ll equip and unequip this ummm, ten times, then I’ll play this creature I put into my hand and do the Shuko thing again. Then I’ll play these 3 0 cost creatures I put into my hand and do it 6 more times…”
Thoughts on running Orvar? target your own creature with an instant or sorcery, get a copy, the copy can get two additional triggers from the commander.
@@anonymoose2474 That is correct but if you legend rule your own commander and keep the token copy that copy has not triggered the ability yet so you can use legend rule to refresh the twice per turn clock in addition to copying other creatures that are targetable by spells/sorceries.
Never mind that the twice per turn clause is twice as good as it had to be, it will also be a pain in the neck to track in paper. Also this guy reminds me of Voja: he incentives board wipes instead of spot removal, which slows down games.
Exactly! Once per turn might have been bearable, then targeted removal wouldn't be such a negative swing in value. Or, perhaps, if the effect triggered either only from your spells and abilities, or your opponent's; same issue Rotpriest has, although obviously that's considerably more niche and self-limiting. Nadu is arguably worse than Voja because the Nadu player will get at least some (and likely, a ton of) value from it before anyone else can afford to wipe the board.
The real issue is that it gives the ability for all your creatures. It would be fine if it was twice per turn total, regardless of which creature is targeted.
I actually just built this deck in paper to play some commander with my friends, and I went all out. I got the shuko, sylvan paradise, sea kings blessing, cyclonic rift, bristly bill, nantuko guy, scute swarm, displacer kitten, fetch lands...the works + all the other shenanigans to make it top tier minus the auto win thassas oracle (although a laboratory maniac seemed ok). Yet, after watching this video (which, for the first time ever while watching CGB content, I repeatedly skimmed forward to just see the final couple of turns of each game, since the matches were very uninteresting). It was CGB, winning EVERY game, in such an UTTERLY overpowered NO CONTEST sort of way! He just pulverized the opponents! It did not seem fun. For anyone involved! Just an, I win deck! My turns are gonna take too long because I'm constantly searching for lands and artifacts in my deck...here please cut, AGAIN! Wait, I'll counter that spell, draw/ramp a shit ton, no that removal won't work because I used some form of protection/phasing/blinking on it...and oh yeah I draw/ramp some more. Bam, a rift! Or shit I decked myself because I locked in the combo, and now Labratory Maniac says...I WIN! Because I have Arch of Orazca to draw from that empty deck. I haven't even played one game with my fully double sleeved and constructed Nadu "Maniacal Spiracal" deck yet, and I dont believe I should. A small part of me (the competitive a**hole part) does want to try this deck out, but the Magic loving guy, who likes having a healthy play group and good friends that enjoy playing with me, part...does NOT want to. It's funny because even if they ban this card the necrobloom has also hyperoptimized landfall decks. Stapling avenger of zendikar, field of the dead and life for the loam on one card for 4 mana is just not fine.

It's one thing to dominate a brawl deck with super fast ramp and landfall effects, but in commander with 3 people with 40 HP to chew through? Much taller order. On one hand I feel board wipes can really ruin your day, on the other hand the stupid amount of ramp and card draw helps you find counterspells for those wipes.

You don't have to be tough to play Brawl, you just need to acknowledge it's mostly a gamble and stack your deck as best you can so the gambling favors you a little more.

I'm wondering if it's possible to brick in a deck like this. It feels like you could build exclusively lands, protection spells, and blink spells and you'd still win. All of the other stuff just makes it a nigh unstoppable machine. Not really sure what you could do to beat this, maybe drannith magistrate? But then you still have a simic value pile to deal with... Anybody have any idea how one would deal with this card?

Look, to be honest I've started turn 1 scooping to every Simic commander. It's by far, the most powerful colour combo in commander. Shoutout to Roxanne who is also a commander who's essentially immune to the commander tax. Commander gives you access to 1 card repeatably. Card advantage doesn't matter as long as you have mana. What's the best colour at generating mana? Green. Blue is currently the best pairing because it's the only colour that interacts with the stack. If the commander tax was "Sac a creature", "Discard a card", or something like "Lose X life", we'd see other colours emerge as the most powerful but no, they left it at mana and then let one colour be the best at generating mana.

Grenzo is good when you, the opponent, have a bunch of bombs in the deck. When it's a bunch of stuff that's only powerful in your deck, Grenzo gets wrecked.
Free Titan of Industry followed up by a Free Bonny Paul, or something similar, takes over games. Hitting your Atroxa, Etali, or Breech every time. On the flip side, it's like, what are you gonna do, take a tutor or a mana rock? That end the festivities is a one-sided board wipe for me.
I'd like to hear from any computer scientists in the chat but is it because they coded a blink effect in such a way that it actually creates a new object and removes the original one? so when the opp conceded it just created a new tamiyo and the process got interrupted in the middle? Not running 0 Equip Cost cards -10 Competitive Credits.
There are no 0 equip cost cards on arena. There is one 4 drop equipment that requires you to discard a card to equip, but that's not good.
Even if it isn't used to combo at all, Nadu is still a 3/4 flier for 3 that replaces itself most of the time when it dies.

When they kill Nadu it doesn't even matter because that process usually means you got a bunch of extra lands so the +2CC is irrelevant.

I have an Artifact deck i just brewed up and i think it broke the meta in 1v1 xD
It's good against pretty mutch every popoular deck atm.
I rarely comment on any videos and never share my decks anywhere, but i had to share this one because its been working wonders for me. And I want others to try it out. Please give me some feedback on how its working for you if you decide try it, and how to improve it if you have any ideas.

Is Grenzo actually good? I haven't been watching much lately but I've been bodying him when i play.
Grenzo is good when you, the opponent, have a bunch of bombs in the deck. When it's a bunch of stuff that's only powerful in your deck, Grenzo gets wrecked.
Free Titan of Industry followed up by a Free Bonny Paul, or something similar, takes over games. Hitting your Atroxa, Etali, or Breech every time. On the flip side, it's like, what are you gonna do, take a tutor or a mana rock? That end the festivities is a one-sided board wipe for me.

I'd like to hear from any computer scientists in the chat but is it because they coded a blink effect in such a way that it actually creates a new object and removes the original one? so when the opp conceded it just created a new tamiyo and the process got interrupted in the middle? It's always fascinating to see what's actually going on under the hood

since modern horizons 3 when clicking anything past main menu game now has a infinite loading screen and is unplayable for me
nvm i fix it by reinstalling the steam version and uninstalling the original
