Wow, I'm a huge fan of this book, been using it for years, and didn't even realize how much potential things like the "Inner Beauty" spell has! I also really appreciate the way you described you use it Matt as it further unlocks ideas for us viewers. I'm currently running Out of the Abyss, heavily modified and influenced by this book, and we're close to the end. The PC's have already made bitter enemies with Orcus and Lolth - I think getting to run high level adventures in Thanatos and the Demonweb pits is inevitable! Also I've always thought a comic of Demogorgon and Dagon as neighbors would be hilarious. Thanks again for the great deep dive and looking forward to more!
I should do a video that focuses on how I ran Thanatos. It was so much fun to run.

I use this book and the first dventure i put to my players was exactly escape from the abyss, and they have to raid an Iron Fortress to acces to a portal to the material plane......they all die jajaja

One of my favorites, 3e had a ton of great books but this one here is in my top 5 for sure.
You are so right. I also liked Tyrants of the 9 Hells quite a bit. Its hard to pick 5. So many good ones.

Its a great book for sure. I especially liked the breath weapon feats! Clinging breath was a horror show!
That is a great book. Those older edition books served me well when I ran my 5e campaign. Thankfully I had them in my collection because official 5e material, such as it was, was meh at best.
FCII-TOTNH Is a great book too! when the abyss nd the hell were a deadly place and not a happy travel like the actual underdark 3.5 > 5th
