"Which Side Are You On?" is a song written in 1931 by the wife of an American Syndicalist, the version heard in this video is played by Alderon Tyran whose channel i highly recommend. This song has also become a theme for the "United Front" faction in The Second American Civil War, an event that happens in the world of Kaiserreich, a Hearts of Iron IV mod.

This is really good, I actually just discovered your channel and this an incredible job. Which side am I on? I am an American at heart, but America has lost it's ways and the PSA shall bring them back...
Americans crying about US loosing its way is so cringe at this point to any European...
@@fridericusrex6289 It’s not a sense of America loosing it ways in real life. I mean, in game, Douglas MacArthur basically creates a military dictatorship. In real life it is in many ways a case of the US being, in many ways, on the right path, with the New Deal and the social programs that followed, with a Keynesian style economy. The stagflation came in the 1970s and people were disillusioned by this Keynesian system, turned to conservatives, who, believed in the Neo-Liberal ideas of Republican candidate of 1964, Barry Goldwater. So when Ronald Reagan took power, he cut the social programs, killed the New Deal, and closed down hospitals for the mentally ill, safe houses for the homeless, etc.
What was created in it’s stead was a Neo-Liberal system known as “trickle- down economics” which is basically “Let’s cut taxes on the rich, so they spend more to strengthen the economy”, as you may have guessed this only made the inequality gap between rich and poor grow exponentially, and led to many problems that America suffers today. Not to mention the fact that most of those homeless people, who had literally no place to go, ended up on the streets. The ironic thing is that Reagan genuinely believed in the idea and genuinely wanted to help Americans.
Another thing, I fervently hate the fact that America’s healthcare system is borderline corrupt, as doctors can become extremely rich and don’t want their profits taken away. And don’t get me started on medical companies with their insane prices, and their promotion of drugs that are basically a legal version of illegal drugs such as heroine, and are arguably even more addictive, there by creating a steady flow of cash. Or how about the fact that lawyers gain an extreme amount of money, especially in insurance and accidents. If go you to LAX (the Los Angeles airport, for anyone who didn’t know) they make you go about a half mile out of the airport to get an Uber or any other similar app. And right by the parking lot where you get the Uber, there is a humongous billboard for a ride-share lawyer. This is such for accident lawyer billboards on freeways, lawyer signs on buses, etc. But no one considers that advertisement is extremely expensive, so how do these lawyers have enough money for so much advertisement? Because they literally profit off of people who end up in accidents, off of people’s misfortune. But no one does anything…
To wrap it up, the funny fact is, I live in Europe, in Italy to be specific, and I perfectly get what you mean. But, I don’t think you are considering the humongous ridicule of many Europeans towards Americans, who really like to do 9/11 jokes, jokes on Vietnam, and all of America’s great tragedies. Yes, Europe has many things that America doesn’t, but their not just good things.
As I said earlier, I live in Italy, and I don’t know if you ever noticed, but Italy is in an abominable shape as a nation. And yet many call the US population racist fascists, while they themselves have elected a president with an ambiguous believe system, and a cabinet that’s literally fascist. Or how about the countless immigrants that are heckled at landing in Sicily, by racist slogans on signs, and insults, and sometimes even violence, just because they are black. Or how about the general crystal clear racism of many European countries, who were extremely paranoid about Syrian, Somali, Libyan, Eritrean and other refugees, but when the Ukrainians flock to these nations, they invited them with open arms. And I know that there maybe more too it, and it is a bit like a pot calling a kettle black, but still…
Last time, that I made a comment like this, I was criticized by one user, for a mistake I made, (It was on a video of Freikorps Marschiert) and he then proceeded to insult me, calling me of “lower intellectual status” and that it was useless trying to convince me, which obviously made me furious, but it was a RUclips comment section.
I hope that you understand what I’m trying to say here…
Also, I’m sorry if it’s too long
And I think there may be a few grammar errors. I’m sorry, it’s hard to write this kind of stuff from your phone.

Syndicalism or death
Well both lead to death red
I know that the point of these songs and, somewhat, your videos is political, but WHY has everyone in this comment section pretty much just made political statements while TOTALLY IGNORING the strongest force that is readily apparent here? Namely THOSE BUTTONS!!!!
im on the side that fought with the most determination
Wait a minute, is this Huszky or Kaiser Cat's channel I'm playing? Loved the song, but I beg you to be careful when mixing historical war songs and fictional ones on the same channel. Would have been great if you could have highlighted the corresponding faction for each verse.
I've heard this sung by a fair few punk bands. Plus Pete seeger and others

Im not american. whats this about? what are the sides ? History lesson pls 😊
As an American I shall inform. During the period known as the coal wars which took place from the 1890s all the way up till 1939. What started several conflicts was the abuse of coal miners which were being severely overworked, underpaid, and just utterly screwed over by whatever company they worked for usually in places likes Colorado or West Virginia. So they unionized and would begin to led revolts and riots against their bosses. It did not end well as many innocent civilians including children died from these battles amongst Americans. Every worker who unionized was fired hence why they led the revolts in the first place and workers would not again be allowed to unionize until the 1930s. All the revolts were put down by police or anti-strikers hired by the mining companies.
