Thank I so much for this tutorial.. I was straggling with taking pictures for my items since I am not a pro .. That’s helpful 🙏❤
just starting out with product photography and I felt so owerhelmed with all the different techniques and lighting options! this video was so helpful and beginner friendly! I actually think I could pull this of! Will try some harsh lighting shots soon! Thank you😍
Glad it was helpful - that makes me happy!
This is an example of a can-dew attitude! lol
Hahaha - made my day!
Your videos are helping me alot. Thank you ! :)
SO happy to hear that Alessandro!
I really like your hard light photography. Thanks for this video.
Thanks Jatin! It’s a fun genre of product photography
Loved the video. Thanks!!!
Appreciate you watching Madalina
I needed a prod photographer to take pics of emergency first aid supplies. I started following you a couple of days ago. Since then i have emulated your husky photo desk setup- A must see video everyone- i did some test shots with my iphone looking at shadow. Yesterday I purchased a used camera sony a7 iii. I downloaded a photo spectrum graph( i think thats the name) and associated colored paper in order to shot red and orange first aid kit. Cant wait to get my camera and try your techniques.
Super exciting!
Nice stuff Chris!
Appreciate the kind words Craig!
I was just saying this the other day. I noticed this huge trend of using super hard light and very minimal sets that they're shooting in as well. Of course, for the photographer who knows lighting that makes things very easy. It makes our lighting setups smaller. But videos like this are good because it is still possible to completely fumble if you don't pay attention to your lighting
You're the best 👍💯
You’re the best my friend
Hi Chris great content as normal...what do you use to hold the 5-1 reflector ?

Hi Chris, been watching many of your videos lately. Thank you for all of the value and efforts. I really want to swap out my clunky backdrop for a single stand one like yours, but can only find ones with stands on the middle. Please can I know the name of yours 🙏🏼 thanks dude
Thanks for the kind words. Check out my diy backdrop video
What paper background do u use sir? Thnk u
Chris do you recommend continous light for these sort of pictures. I was about to pull the trigger on godox ad400 but now doubting. Any recommendation perhaps on a pro light you'd recommend would be great.
I recommend continuous if you're just starting out. I use the aputure 300d and the nanlite 200, and ad400.
Godox ad400 is great but there is a learn curve. If you want to learn flash early, then dive into it.

That in my photos of a white gift box…as it turns yellow in the shots
just wondering: would the same set up also work in a room with big windows and natural light? or does the room has to be dark?
It all depends on the light source. A super powerful continuous light will overpower the window light, meaning you can have big windows and light.
A weak light source won't overpower the window light so you'll need to cover up the windows.
Hi Chris, where do you recommend purchasing the back drop paper?
I use b+h
Hi Chris, any chance you can give me the set up you have your paper roll on and attachments?

I use savage paper 26" as well
Do you set you WB to 5500, or do you AWB?
What do you do for color matching your monitor to print?
My monitor was calibrated pretty well out of the box. I've had no issues with this. I use the LG 5k.
hi Chris, can you do a diy product photography but with clothes instead.
I’ll add it to the list of requested videos! But you can start now. The principles I teach in these videos (lighting, composition) is what’s important. They can be applied to any product.
Why does the can color look yellowish in the photo while it is actually white??
The photo is the true color of the can, the video portions make the highlights look blown out.
