Your experience with cheaper products is a blessing. There are a lot of black women that make the wrong move with cheap products and their hair is in shambles 😂😂😂😂 and honestly someone could have the same experience with expensive products if they don't understand just enough to care for their hair. I have to buy expensive products to get the best quality for the styles I wear and because I have allergies and allergic asthma. I love your natural hair success and I've been inspired by some of your vids.
I love Cantu deep conditioner and Africa’s Best hair mayonnaise. For shampoo, I use Trader Joe’s nourish spa balancing shampoo and conditioner. All of it’s cheap. Never tried Mane choice, or Camille rose 🌹 natural cause they too expensive!
Shea butter has been my all time help in moisturizing and detangling. Just got on the Cantu leave in conditioner recently alongside my diys and my hair is thriving
Have been using Cantu Leave in with Shea since transiting .....perfect for my hair. One day may try something different. Simplicity works for me. When I run out can basically go to any store.
Hey hair twin 🤗 we’ve both got wash n gos today, except mine is burgundy. The only time I splurge is with deep conditioners. Shampoos, conditioners and stylers are a dime a dozen for me-they all just do the same thing. Any time I try to branch out with stylers, I always end up back at old faithful (Eden Bodyworks and diy gels).
The Gloved Natural I completely understand because it is a very nice change. I was worried it wouldn’t be worth it without using bleach or developer, but I’m really glad I finally took the plunge.
Awesome video. I only use three products on my hair. I love the Creme of Nature shampoo, ORS replenishing conditioner as deep conditioner and shea butter...don't even whip it. I agree natural products shouldn't be excessively expensive, but to each their own :)
Love your hair ☺️ so, my hair has expensive taste 😂 but it seems to be ok with some Cantu and Creme of Nature products. I just hate the trial and error process lol. Also I am a product junkie and I am really trying to finish all of what I have before I buy more
Girl I am obsessed with your channel! Might need to start using gloves when washing my hair 😭 thanks for this video! I really am interested in the products you shared in ur midweek refresher video tho and they aren’t too expensive. :)
I am at the stage where I am SLOWLY figuring out what works for my hair. So far I've discovered that my hair: - (loves)Creme of Nature Argan Shampoo, -(loves) D.I.Y Deep Conditioners (still looking for cheap DC, in case I'm having a lazy day) - (likes) Cantu Argan OF - (loves) my Shea Butter w/ additional oils -Wild Growth Hair oil is BOMB for the scalp
I really appreciate this video, I would love to see more black owned natural hair products. I understand that there’s usually a price disparity but I am sure that there are some budget ones out there, and as much as I am trying to be more budgeted with spending, I also want to spend with stores that support my community. I think innocent hair care has a lot of products under £10, so if in the future you could do a review of them, that would be amazing x
The Gloved Natural I’m UK based too, I think there are a few natural hair brands, they are just not as well publicised. I had my eye on innocent hair care, but you can also try Pure Goodness, Kiya Cosmetics, Ivy Wild (not sure about the prices of all of them but I’ve spotted some inexpensive products for each of them)
Gorgeous hair! I’m a fellow UK girl and followed you from your relaxer days when I had relaxed hair too, I am just set to big chop and very interested as to what length your hair is now over 2 1/2 years on from your big chop for guidance! It will keep me in the road to success :)
Unfortunately my hair and my scalp are high maintenance. Lol! My scalp has rejected most conditioners, styling products, oils and butters. Sigh. I'm trying to use only Cantu and Aphogee for my hair and Groganics for my scalp. For extra I have products from my Trichologists, Paul Mitchell Shampoo three for chelating and As I am Hydration Elation for a protein-free deep conditioner. The only DIY I have is aloe Vera juice and rose water for my extra dry high porosity ends. I definitely cannot leave in my deep conditioner. It rubs off on my scalp and causes irritation. Luckily Cantu is always on sale. Aphogee is not too expensive and last a long time like half the year. The chelating shampoo and proteins fee deep conditioner last ages as I only use them every 4-6 weeks.
Have you tried an ACV rinse? My scalp was the exact same and I just used a bit of that with some oil and it did wonders for my scalp. Hope this helps ❤️
You are so right. Your hair is beautiful.❤️❤️ now using the products that work for me. I also use grease. I use inexpensive products and high end products. Both work for me. I also do natural products from my kitchen. I do a ginger and coconut treatment which works great for my hair. I have used the Cantu deep treatment masque. It's good. Thank you for sharing. Love and Light. ❤️❤️❤️🙏
Hi, how does one go back to such hair from blown out natural hair ? Like the video you did with the heat brush + protectant spray (where the tips are a bit purple/red )
I get what you're saying about the old products, but in terms of the new wave of products on the market there is a massive difference. Now we have products with fewer synthetic ingredients, the new products tend to be more natural ingredients. Secondly, the newer products soak and penetrate the hair better than the old ones. Also, the newer products provide better slip, which the older ones don't really have, if you're looking to retain length you'll need as much slip as possible to avoid snapping the hair. Lastly, might I add, the new products tend to be black-owned which is also an added bonus for the community, so I think there is a massive difference between the old and new hair products, hence why so many black woman are finding it eaiser to maintain their natural hair.
Hi Rachel I know you dont do kids hair but some of the products you use look friendly enough to use in their hair. Could you recommend something that you have used that is mild and detangling. Such as shampoo conditioner leave in and butters. Please. The African pride thick leave in and the liquid African pride leave in worked a treat on my hair on my hair.
I wasn't notified 😭😭😭 I follow your advice and love you so much Akua, though I am relaxed I always watch your videos on natural hair and I don't know how many times I have watched your video on how to grow healthy relaxed hair. Question did your pigmentation go?? If yes what did you use. God you are just too beautiful
Oh that’s annoying 😭 I have no idea how this RUclips algorithm works now. And thank you! I appreciate you watching x oh and nope, still have pigmentation 😂
My hair unfortunately likes more expensive products. So I save up for two months a sum of money for hair care for my daughters and I, then I do a big splurge on hair that will last for months and start the savings up again. Each week for two to three months. I put a little money in. I do this with all my savings. And this helps me save. The cheapest thing my hair likes is Aloe Vera juice, Aussie conditioners and mango butter. Other than that. My hair likes the expensive stuff. But I find ways to buy them without going broke.
The Lord is coming back. He loves you dearly and calls for you to come back home to Him. He calls for repentance and belief in the Gospel. It’s time to fully surrender to Christ. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

@Waylon Forest Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
I love the creme of nature Argan line, but have just got into making the conditioner and leave in myself for even more savings!
I need to get on this myself to be honest

YES for Africa’s Best hair mayo !
That cantu deep conditioner is bomb 😂
Love Trader Joe's shampoo and conditioner
Because the ingredients in Mane choice are so high quality you don’t have to use as much🥰 same with mielle btw
The hair mayonnaise is my holy grail!
