Don't think that will be worth it for a long time. I honestly doubt people will start removing commons until they get close to the 40 card deck limit. And with how games are going that will still take at least 1 more week, probably 2 or 3 weeks even
But is that a good strat? In most card games yeah you don't want to dilute your deck with weak cards, which is why they have minimum deck sizes. But in DO2 the more cards you have the longer you can stay in the dungeon. Either from directly blocking clank/hazard, or because they make you less likely to draw Stumbles. It also would help with the cards that are better when you draw them later, like the ones that give regen, or embers based on how many floors you've opened, etc. If you have a small deck of really good cards that'll be great for lvl 1 and 2 maybe but then it'll just be Stumble, Stumble, Stumble for the rest of the run. In a previous video Hypno said he wanted to get as many cards as possible and I think he has the right idea for this game.
@@wyrmh0le also what kinda ties into that that doesnt make sense is the focus on "quickdraws" for the supposedly better cards, that just makes your deck run out fast and as you said eventually just makes you draw more stumbles.
@@saucemonster7137it takes, I think, 30 seconds for a card to draw. That means that at a full deck it would take 20 minutes to empty. Quick draw reduces the time between possibly allowing more consistent results. I don’t think late game runs will be that long and getting defensive cards in play earlier is better as hazard is time based.

According to the wiki sneaking halves the distance from which a mob can see you. Invisibility and mob heads also affect that distance. Not sure if any of these have an effect on how quickly the mob notices you when you're within that distance, though. Also, sneaking does make your hitbox a bit smaller so that might help block line-of-sight in very rare cases.
The reason the ravagers sometimes see you immediately and sometimes take 2 minutes is because of the large amount of entities in the dungeon slows down the speed of the ai calculations.
Source? Items are relatively lag efficient, and there should only be like 15 ravagers in the whole dungeon. AFAIK ai only slows down if tick rate drops and that shouldn't happen. @@ahmed4363
@@hypnotizd, I think I mentioned it last video, but you are one of the 4 players I'm rooting for (I can't root for only one). In no particular order: You Gem Pearl Keralis
Honestly, his runs have made me a dedicated Hypno watcher. I feel like I’ve learnt so much about the game from him and he just seems like such a cool guy. Thanks Hypno!
In one of the latest Tango videos he mentions the door between first and second floor doesn't close until you pass a specific point, so he probably has a waterlogged shrieker used as the trigger, which is why the Reckless Charge activated as you went down the stairs.
A shriker that is used to close the door shouldn't be connected to the main line that is used to track clank. It is possible it was by mistake, however. He's aware of the problem as I've shown him the issue.
At 36:35 you hear the clank block tip toe sound which is a shrieker going off at 2 seconds of the reckless charge timer. So you hit the shrieker in time when you hear the tiptoe sound in time. Love watching your runs!!
The delay theory is probably correct (I've noticed Etho get run speed a good 1-2 seconds before Loot & Scoot gets announced), but a shrieker will sound regardless of if the clank gets blocked
SUGGESTION: There is probably a hidden pathway in the Ultimate Victory Chamber which leads to an Easter Egg. I wouldn't put it past Tango to add a totally blacked-out hallway in there (separate from the iron door). Maybe worth exploring the other walls.
Actually in one of Tangos streams, I think it was the Phase 2 ends video, he went down to the "death chamber" using FreeCam to check on the "survivors room" for who needs a trophy for the week. There is nothing that extends out in any direction except for that "survivors room". However, that totally would be something Tango would do... I mean he did make "the pond"... can't really count anything out with that guy xD
Great video as always, just reminding that there is still the secret in the ship room up the stone and leaf path. Would be nice to get out with the crowns if you get an easy level 2 run. Thank you
Honestly, I'm surprised how often people ignore the stalagmite area behind the TNT pile. Not only is it one of the better treasure/ember drops but it has got two berry bushes. Plus it's a quick bop over to the back stairway to the library/basement.
40:39 Very strange to see two keys behind towel man... Tango has explicitly stated that that treasure location is specifically not a key dispenser because it's too close to the key drop off. Maybe he's taking pity on Gem?
Great runs! You might know it already, but card effects actually process a couple seconds before they are announced. There's a little lag in the announcements. So reckless charge is actually in effect for more like ~11-12 seconds to account for the time between when the card is played and when its announced. The 8 second timer is after the announcement time. This is true for a lot of cards, so for example, you might hear the clank block tip toe noise a second or two before the sneak card is announced. In both those cases, you activated a shrieker just seconds before the announcement
I'm sure Tango is aware and has made the redstone last longer to account for this. I showed him the footage and he was confused as to why things were triggering when they shouldn't.
Hypno can you check the lake in the tnt room. Pearl looked in it and there is some depth but she was too scared to go down. The entire dungeon is hand made and there’s no natural water so there being depth suggest something is there. Tango confirmed there are a couple eggs left on lvl 1.
(Spoiler) theres actually a part of level two you can only access through the pond. It’s supposed to have a lot of treasure but what he put in there was never shown on stream.
FYI: In flowing water, if it’s just one block deep, holding space is actually slower and the flow of the water gives you momentum Helpful after you sprint jump into the water sections at max clank! (Don’t think it works if the water level is high in the block, maybe if it’s under half the height of a block)
Seems like the reckless charge card activated because both times the sound for clank block played during the timer from shriekers diretctly before, most likely the clank was processed right at the beginning of the countdown, but the processing delayed a bit from the actual activation
40:35 sneaking does change the distance off how far away a mob can aggro you, im not sure if its -x amount or -% amount, but i do know it reduces how close you have to be to a hostile mob for it to aggro.
For the reckless charge still proc-ing it may be that the Redstone output of the shreiker reset faster than the audio, so the first triggered the audio and Redstone, but the second trigger only activated Redstone (and worked with the reckless charge). Idk about the one of the stairs, but there is a shreiker at the bottom near the door so it may have procced off that
One thing I learned from watching so many hermits playing decked out is that generally the more cards in your deck doesn't mean better. Consider the fact that if you have 20+ cards in your deck, it would be much difficult to pull a clank block card when you needed it most. Especially given that it is very beneficial to have clank block stacked up early on in the game. Customizing your deck is very essential for your playstyle in this game. If you want to prioritize something to trigger much often like sneak card, limiting with the number of card in deck total may proven more advantageous than having more cards. Don't mind me I just love theorizing the possibilities. :) Love the game and your run!
Its interesting everyone cut out grians disputes about the stew. He did mention he regretted it and was having an off day, but that's very nice of everyone to avoid him the embarrassment. Everyone has those days
At 36:24 it sounded like a piston activated on the shrieker right before reckless charge. Tango has shriekers go online and offline using pistons… means that Hypno might’ve just gotten really unlucky?
Sneaking actually does reduce the distance from which mobs can see you at. This is why it's called "Sneaking" instead of crouching, but since it has more useful functions like not falling off the edge of blocks, nobody really knows about its original intention
Wow, these runs keep getting better! and I think you spent your frost embers VERY wisely these runs. Getting some points on the board seems like a good time now, and you definitely needed more clank blocked! Amazing!
the reason your reckless charge keeps going off is that what is triggering your clank is presumably a skulk sensor , not a shrieker. shrieker's have a short cooldown own how often they make noise, so I presume you were still just inside that on your third run. as for the second one, tango probably has a sensor rigged to those stairs, and thats probably also hooked up to the line triggering reckless charge for some reason
Hypno, I think in run 2 when you thought reckless charge should not have proc’d, I think it proc’d because you put the key in for level 2 that causes klank. Tango might be looking for klank detection of any kind to proc your card, so not just a shreiker.
I think the shriekers has sound cd to it, that's why some hermit can accumulating alot of clank by triggering same shrieker. And wonder 'cause they only heard a couple sound of shriekers
HYPNO - There's a lot of potential Easter Egg hiding places behind / beneath lava. One area that looks sus is a lava column on Lv2 close to Pearl's area. There were previously Fire Resist potions dotted around the dungeon, so wondering whether Tango has restocked those... 🤔
You could probably sprint-swim through the water pillars to turn them into speed boost! If you start the swim in the pillar then swim down the water will push you forwards. Loved the chicken bombs, thanks for the vid
Regarding the two times it seems like you didn't trigger a wreckless charge. The first time (26:25) I'm a bit stumped, but we can notice a clank block get used so clearly something triggered clank even if it wasn't a shrieker. The second time you trip a shrieker at 36:24, get the card played 5 seconds later, and then get the clank blocked another 6 seconds later--11 whole seconds after the shrieker was originally tripped. That seems to be what rewards the embers. Edit: fun fact, with that second time, when you got to intentionally trip the shrieker you run right past the spot and yet don't trigger it. My theory is that you actually jumped over the sensor.
GASP!! It's the man in the chicken costume! How?! Anyways, I love the sheer amount of decked out content from everyone - and with Hypno I swear it feels like the dungeon itself is actively fighting back, with how insane and unlikely situations keep happening.
37:00 Tango said earlier that the sound is from Reckless Charge's timer expiring, not from it triggering, so I don't think you're activating it. The card could use two different sounds depending on whether it successfully activates or not to make it clearer.
I think there is a slight delay between a shrieker shrieking and the clank registering, and probably the reckless charge is triggered between that duration and so the shrieker counts towards it? Atleast that's what I think is happening. There is a slight delay with the played card voice too, it's more apparent in loot n scoot because we get the beacon effect just before the card is called out.
41:00 looks like there’s a tunnel behind the crimson trapdoor. Also, sneaking halves the agro range on a mob, if the mob is already agro-ed, sneaking is useless in this regard.
The chickens survived the TNT because they were below the blow it was on. Ask mumbo about explosion mechanics. Is seems if you feet are below the exploring block you are safe 😊
Not sure if anyone else noticed Tango's sign in the ultimate victory room at the end of the dungeon. (48:14) Why do I get the feeling he's going to add a second ravager to that room. P.s. loving everyone's signs trying to see how many times they can make it to the room and who can make it the most times.
I'm so excited for when hermits start removing common cards from their decks to get more consistent draws of uncommons/rares

37:00 Tango said earlier that the sound is from Reckless Charge's timer expiring, not from it triggering, so I don't think you're activating it. The card could use two different sounds depending on whether it successfully activates or not to make it clearer.
That's what the map is for - you can see the embers getting queued up right after the 8 second timer sound, so no additional sounds needed.
You can already see if it has activated via the map, it will fill up with 10 embers.
Correct, that sound plays 8 seconds after the alert goes off. It just says the window is closed as tango mentioned in the first run in this episode.
It sucks because he already had a bad activation rate with the card.
40:36 iirc sneaking makes mobs only notice you when theyre closer
