Stoked as I am that figures like Vader and Boba Fett are in such affordable sets, it's great to see someone finally look at the builds themselves with some real care. Star Wars taking notes from Gundam (which already was inspired a lot by Star Wars) was a perfect artistic direction for these, and despite this being your first time you really knocked it out of the park!
As a LEGO MECH specialist, I have to say you did great for a first try! I especially love the Factory! And personally, love the StormTrooper! It does have a little bit of a GUNDAM VIBE! Would have given it a bigger Rifle instead of the Sword, but it still work.
Pretty sure this is actually a thing in the Star Wars legends, basically big exosuits for space combat and spaceship repair. Sadly, its less Gundam and more Alien mech suit :(
The Boba Fett upgrade was definitely the best! I wish they made a yellow version of that black piece you used in the back shoulder then it would be PERFECT or maybe a light gray to match the blade and turret base
As a Gundam builder, I just bought the Boba Fett Lego set and I went straight away to search on RUclips if someone made an update to look like a real mech build. I think you made a really great job with all 3! I love the factory as well. Thanks for such a good content, I appreciate it!
I like how you used LEGO Star Wars buildable figure blasters for the shoulder cannon . I kinda miss buildable figures no longer being produced but I understand .
Love how the storm trooper mech turned out, and I definitely agree the boba mech has the best colors. I may honestly just buy it for the fig and the sand blue🤷♂️. The upgraded mechs looked awesome!
I had a Black Tron station set back in the 90s. It was my only lego set so I rebuilt the hell out of it including dual mechs inspired by the cartoon, Exosquad. I was so proud of those builds, I left them as is for display. A few decades later, I found them in storage and showed them to my 4 year old, who loves legos. It was promptly destroyed in like 5 minutes. 😄
Stormtrooper mech seems like something the empire would actually deploy into combat.. Cannot express how sick that stormtrooper mech looks, amazing job..
I love this style of mech in general. I collect Ninjago so I'm making mechs in this style for every character and villain army. And interesting that you've mentioned Bionicle because that's been on my mind while making these mocs. Imagine if we had a huge selections of small affordable sets like Bionicle. Enough with 500$, overly big, impossible to display, not intended for paly, packed in black boxes sets.
Great redesigns! I've always wanted to see humanoid mechs in Star Wars, but not what LEGO had in mind. I imagine Star Wars mechs being closer to something like Warhammer 40k or Halo.
Favorite has to be Boba Fett's. Being excessively decked out with weapons feels like what Boba Fett would be seen piloting. On a side note, I can imagine using several Stormtrooper mech sets to make an insane General Grievous mech.
Amazing and fun video! The factory build looks amazing. The mech sets would definitely have been more interesting this way over the way they are. Small correction with Vader's Cockpit. The "Tie Fighter" piece is actually not from a Tie Fighter. It is a piece from the Death Star. (Though, I'd associate that piece with the Tie Fighter)
Found your channel today, and what a great find. Loved the upgrades. Especially liked Darth Vader and the Mech Factory. Nice work. Subscribed and notifications are on. My kids are gonna love your channel.
I think that if you added an orange robo pauldron to the upgraded stormtrooper he'd look like a mech commander and I think he'd look great in the factory. Kinda like a final boss
I like it. Right now I'm working on a dark trooper at a larger scale and a lot of the same principles apply with mech building. I bought the Darth Vader one and I might modify it to be a dark trooper. I love your addition of cockpits. Ps. You should tack down your baseplate when filming time lapses of base building.
The Stormtrooper reminds me of Exo Force with those shoulder pauldrons while the other two give me a loose Titanfall vibe. These are awesome and I'd pick them up to try my own shot at these customs!
Firstly I just have to quickly say that YOUR Boba Fett Mech Adaptation is my overall favourite - well really you’ve done a completely different concept apart from the fact that it’s a “Mech” which is really really cool. The way that you have laterally pulled in the personal impact and interest from “Manga?” style - Japanese animation is simply great lateral thinking 👍 I just have to say at this point that Boba Fett has been a character thru the years all the way back to being a kid that has always inspired & deeply interested me by his mysterious backstory, well what used to be mysterious. I really (REALLY) was taken aback by the content of your video. 1. Working from the base plates up was a wonderful idea and you executed it in a way that was quite inspiring. 2. Your IMAGINATION shines through with all the “left of field decisions” that you have made as you have continued to build - to create your initial descriptive vision. 3. I Really like your back story as to why you have built the Imperial Stormtrooper Mech Factory Only as “Vader would force jump and Boba would somehow use his jet pack”. 4. You did not deviate from your initial concept, which is quite often. (I find anyway) a challenge once I, or other people, start building from their imagination. 5. You weren’t afraid of pushing the boundaries when pulling in your other reference points as inspiration… ie: I love the wings on YOUR completed Storm trooper Mech. 6. You didn’t “draw” anything 👍 like a plan or a layout or anything - it was a direct “Stream?” from your imagination to the bricks themselves - which I really like as it doesn’t turn into like a production line as your self discovery happens in front of you, not from a Plan that you’ve previously prepared yourself with. 7. You showed your successes and little failures as you went along and how you learnt from them, which I think is about one of the most important things when working from (our) imagination. 8. I suppose I’m trying to say that you didn’t create your own “building instructions” before you started building - like the majority of other people building outside of the “box” seem to say is what you (we) should do. 9. I really like the finished piece as a whole. It tells the story as well as is a story that opens up in front of me as a viewer and similarly from your description as you as a builder. 10. Thank You for taking the time to do this it is seriously awesome!
This is probably one of the most well thought through comments I’ve ever received! Thanks for taking the time, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!! Really, I appreciate it :)
I think you were on the right track with using Gundam as your inspiration, but I feel like your focus might have skewed too heavily on main character Gundams in general when something like a GM or Zaku II (or any other number of mass produced grunt suits) would have been a better starting point. That being said, I think the Darth one was the only one that didn't really land for me. The stormtrooper suit reminds me of some of the Star Wars samurai figures that Tamashii Nations produced, and the Boba Fett mech definitely benefits from some heavier armaments!
There was definitely a Japanese vibe to the stormtrooper mech, though it didn’t feel reminiscent of any gundam series in my opinion. It felt more like a samurai design personally, which is still cool, but it really would’ve needed a proper head to be more MSG. Granted the form factor was limiting
I recently started building Gunpla for fun so I actually understand this comment now. Totally agree! I didn’t know too much about mechs in general when I made this video haha
I’m a new fan of Star Wars but I’m been a fan of Lego for 6 or 5 year now i think and the mechs are a easy way To get the minifigures but my fav is Boba fett it looks the more Star Wars like in my opinion and it feels like something that he would actually have an own. Also, I want to put this thought out there remember if there was an actual Star Wars Mech for storm troopers it would be gray or black because of the color scheme that they use for all the other vehicles also minigun on boba fett kinda reminds me of the rocket raccoon Mech
Thanks man! I generally like them but feel like they are a bit basic. Upgrading them was a lot of fun! New found respect for your llama mech after going through this process haha
Wow I absolutely love this. Was not a big fan of the mechs and now u really made me want to buy these based off that factory moc. Great video man keep it up!
I would love to see you revisit Boba in a video some day, by incorporating elements of the Slave I into him for the cockpit! I'd also like to see his legs beefed out somewhat.
Absolutely loved the Boba Fett one, easily my favorite. Vader came in second. Not a fan of the sword for the Stormtrooper, he just feels like a gun holding character.
Always loved Bionicle! I’m glad you are a fan! Also these mechs aren’t really mechs, they are more upscaled versions of the characters, even in the other themes.
Just built the Storm Trooper and Fett Mechs with my kids last night. Then watched your video afterwards. You did an amazing job adding onto those builds. Love your style. Looking forward to more of your vids.
My favorite was the stormtrooper
Same here!
It looks like a flippin samurai!
Same
It’s the best one but there All good
My least favourite one is the stormtrooper
Lego actually made a line based on Japanese mechs in the late 2000's called Exo-Force. I suggest looking into it if you like japanese mechs.
Oh man I miss that theme. Lots of great sets there.
I love exo force
Ah, sweet memories of my bronze robot rocket mech
exo force was goated
Not making a hate comment just saying they are called gundam
Wow this video was epic! The vader mech especially looks so much better! Sick idea mate!
Thanks!! Glad you liked it!
my faovate was the Dark Vader mek
Stoked as I am that figures like Vader and Boba Fett are in such affordable sets, it's great to see someone finally look at the builds themselves with some real care.
Star Wars taking notes from Gundam (which already was inspired a lot by Star Wars) was a perfect artistic direction for these, and despite this being your first time you really knocked it out of the park!
Thanks very much! Glad you like the builds!
The Mechs looked amazing all 3 were looking much better.
The wings and gundam aesthetics really make these look a lot cooler, really sleek!
Thanks! I think they are a fun addition.
As a LEGO MECH specialist, I have to say you did great for a first try! I especially love the Factory!
And personally, love the StormTrooper! It does have a little bit of a GUNDAM VIBE! Would have given it a bigger Rifle instead of the Sword, but it still work.
I've made my own custom Lego titan and he's only about the size of my hand plus I made 6 comics about him.
@@Hkgamer-10 what is a “titan”
Holy shit he gave them railings. Not even the Death Star crew had such luxuries
OSHA approved
My favourite is boba fett, mainly because of the big cannon on his arm it looks cool good work
Thanks!!
Stormtrooper mech seems like something the empire would actually deploy into combat.
Probably as frontline or SUPER heavy soldiers
@@Dantae2612 yeah
Pretty sure this is actually a thing in the Star Wars legends, basically big exosuits for space combat and spaceship repair.
Sadly, its less Gundam and more Alien mech suit :(
Kinda yeah I love the idea
im sure there are mechs in legends, i knw there were the legends version of dark troopers, and a clone trooper mech
The Boba Fett upgrade was definitely the best! I wish they made a yellow version of that black piece you used in the back shoulder then it would be PERFECT or maybe a light gray to match the blade and turret base

You know i really enjoyed watching this 8 minute video
These are so dope man!! I would be excited if LEGO made them like this 😂
Thanks man, much appreciated!
The Stormtrooper is also very shogun-y.
I like how you used LEGO Star Wars buildable figure blasters for the shoulder cannon . I kinda miss buildable figures no longer being produced but I understand .
A B1 or B2 buildable would have been EPIC!
@@nautilusnotasquidfr,
Love how the storm trooper mech turned out, and I definitely agree the boba mech has the best colors. I may honestly just buy it for the fig and the sand blue🤷♂️. The upgraded mechs looked awesome!
Thanks man! I would say the Boba mech is worth it. Glad you liked the upgrades!
The one thing missinh from these is elbow and knee joints (Seriously, why has lego stopped making those. Even the earliest mech line had that)
I had a Black Tron station set back in the 90s. It was my only lego set so I rebuilt the hell out of it including dual mechs inspired by the cartoon, Exosquad. I was so proud of those builds, I left them as is for display. A few decades later, I found them in storage and showed them to my 4 year old, who loves legos. bro love the gundam style ive been trying to that for weeks thx for tge inspo
Looks insane man!
Thanks!!
my favorite was the stormtrooper cause the wings looked absolutely awesome
Thanks! Glad you like it!
make make
In my opinion you should try to add elbow and knee joints
Stormtrooper mech seems like something the empire would actually deploy into combat.. Cannot express how sick that stormtrooper mech looks, amazing job..

That’s awesome! Yeah I really wish we still had Bionicle. I understand why we don’t, but man, they made so many cool molds for them.
The back piece on the Vader mech was from the 2020 emperor's throne room
Nice upgrades i upgraded the stomtrooper mech with the Razer crest micro fighter
Dude I have that exact same black bionical with the shield😂it was my favorite one of that line. Love the mechs bro! Sick!
these mechs look amazing! the only thing i’d change is replacing those evo “joints” in the limbs. they really limit the posing.
Killer new set up with the nice lighting and mic hook up
Thanks man!
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. This moc is fantastic
Thank you!!
Great redesigns! I've always wanted to see humanoid mechs in Star Wars, but not what LEGO had in mind. I imagine Star Wars mechs being closer to something like Warhammer 40k or Halo.

New camera lookin crispyyy! Great upgrades and I love the mech factory! The stormtrooper mech is my favorite for sure!
Thanks man! Had a lot of fun with this one. Stormtrooper is probably my fav as well.
the quality of these videos gets better each time, keep up the great work man!
Thanks!! Will do.

Yeah, I’ve considered doing this. I probably should tbh.
Dam i look good.
Boba Fett was my favorite, partially because he’s my favorite character, but I also really like the build.
No doubt i love all 3
Dang dude! What a banger video! Your video production is getting so good!
Thanks man!!
This is sick I wish I had the extra piece to do something like this
Nice! They look great!
Thanks!

the boba fet was incredible ! with the gun on the shoulder and the rotary canon and the knife i loved it!
Love the design but I think the stormtrooper mech should have a blaster😊

The Word ,,Bionicle" gave me Flashbacks
I think the shoulder cannon you put on Mech Boba Fett would’ve worked just as well for the Mech Storm Trooper as it’s blaster.
Wow!I think these turned out great and I found the 332nd swamp speeder early.
Thanks! I wasn’t able to find the 332nd battle pack early. I think someone beat me to it at the store I bought these mechs from haha
This is a really cool and unique concept! Would definitely love to see more like this in the future!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
You should have episodes of each mech making a bigger mech like vertron
Your improved mechs are incredible and I love the stormtrooper one so much
Thank you!
honestly really great channel, videos like this are just short enough to keep my focus and really cool, keep it up man 👏👏
Thanks! Glad you liked the video! More to come.
The stormtrooper was amazing!
My favourite was the Boba Fett mech, I think it captured the character the best. Great work!👍
I keep coming across better lego youtubers! Elite review and moc building 🏆
Wow, thanks! Glad you liked it!
I couldnt stop hearing gungan/ gangam style😫
😂 fair
I like the creative Liberties you took when upgrading the mechs
Boba built his outta the remains of his dad's mech and junkyard parts, and it rocks!
The boba felt mech is by far my favorite by far! I do think it would look cooler with a bigger jet pack though
Pretty sweet! Would you do a clone wars one?? Or a Jedi one??
That could be fun!

Thanks, will do!
you actually got me thinking there could be a decent potential for LEGO Star Wars mechs! great job dude!
Thanks man! It was fun to try and make these into something better (at least better in my opinion haha).
The stormtrooper mech was 🔥🔥🔥👏🏾

Nice video! Really enjoyed all the content. Great job on all the mech upgrades, my favorite is Boba Fett’s. Love that shoulder cannon!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Wow! This was a great vid idea! I liked the modified stormtrooper best!
Thanks Scott! Glad you liked it :)
I like when lego takes its own liberties and makes sets that aren’t cannon kinda like when they used to have alternate builds on the og star wars sets
I love these new mechs! Old ones are fine, but this was a huge upgrade!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Always loved Bionicle! I’m glad you are a fan! Also these mechs aren’t really mechs, they are more upscaled versions of the characters, even in the other themes.
Loved Bionicle growing up! Wish they still made them.
I missed BIONICLE but now I am a fan!
Great video - you really worked hard on that! Love the factory idea! The Boba Fett looks really cool!
i mean in legends the empire did have mechs but they were specifically designed for zero gravity
Huh, I had no idea! I’ll have to look into that.
the reason the figures poked out on the stock mechs is because the figures are meant to sit not stand nut on other points rlly cool video dude
good, *now let's see you make a stormtrooper in space marine armor*
Boba fett and his Samus armor is dope as shit.
Arm cannons and shoulder pads for days
The Boba Fett one what is the best, the dark Vader one what’s the worst
My fav stormtrooper and awesome factory mech plant build in beginning of your vid. Very creative
I actually like the concept of a Star Wars mech factory
this is why i love to see someone play with LEGO ❤❤
All of the revisved mechs look so sick. I would pay money for them! Especially the stormtrooper and Boba Fett mechs.
The Darth Vader mech looks really cool
Just built the Storm Trooper and Fett Mechs with my kids last night. Then watched your video afterwards. You did an amazing job adding onto those builds. Love your style. Looking forward to more of your vids.
