- In a world filled with micro compact concealed carry sized pistols what sets the NEW Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro apart? For starters the grip is well textured and packs 15 rounds of capacity with two included 15 round magazines. No 12 or no 15 grip extension, just 15 in compact size grip. The Hellcat Pro is Springfield Armory’s answer to the long slide micro compact Glock 48 or the Sig P365 XL. Is it better?

In our review of this gun, in our opinion we love it. I think it’s better in every way than it’s competition. It has the size with a slightly shorter barrel than a G48 but with a factory 15 round capacity, no upgrades needed. It has an optic cut for popular micro red dots on the market. Co-witness u-notch with tritium front sight for those that don’t want a red dot.
What we found most appealing about the Springfield Hellcat Pro was its shoot-ability. It shoots like a sub compact and that snap which micro compacts are known for seems non existent. Easy to shoot and deliver effective hits down range.
Upon receiving this gun from Springfield Armory, skepticism was in full effect. We didn’t know if the market really needed another long slide micro compact. This review proved us wrong. In every way, this gun ups the ante. It’s reasonably priced and ready to defend out of the box. We've shot the Springfield Hellcat, Springfield Hellcat RDP, and now this NEW Springfield Hellcat Pro and honestly they are a great line of pistols!

I set my oldest daughter up with the Hellcat last year when she turned 21 and now we wish this variation would have been out then. Looks like an awesome set up. Oh well looks like a trip to the candy store is in short order. Good review as always.

This is super appealing. I tend to dislike micro compacts as I prefer to carry compacts, which i generally find comfortable and easy to conceal without sacrificing shootability. I do, however, have a G48 w a 507K and my wife has a Sig 365XL. I've been looking for a summer carry that can run the new Holosun closed emitter micro optic. Was looking at getting another G48 and just milling it for that. But I might just end up checking this out instead.
I carry a 320 X compact daily off duty and I can shoot this just as well. It’s impressive, I like it more than G48 and it has 15 round capacity out of the box.
@@HuntFishShootChannel How do you find the grip texture? My dad carries the standard Hellcat and loves it, but i can do the shortened grip and haven’t ever shot it. I’d curious how it handles steelcase as well

I love the new Hellcat Pro. I will start carrying it after shooting at least 1000 rounds. It a little bit more snappy than the G19.
That's an understatement. Glock milks their product instead of making a new gen with all the bells and whistles. Glock ain't it in this stage of the game.

Nice 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I like that particular Hellcat Pro model. Personally, I don't like subcompact or micro handguns. For me, the barrel has to be 4" long or higher, from compact to full size is my preference.
I love this one! I agree with you, the super small micros have a place but I prefer slightly larger or compact ones!

Man I'm just looking to get a 365XL and now this bad boy comes out. Long time XD 40 owner and I have to say I love that sucker, just want something lighter now
I would get this over the XL in a heart beat. Shootability between the two is noticeably different. The 365XL is a great option too, but this is just a bit better!

Please do a 365xl vs hellcat pro. They have the SAME EXACT dimensions and Springfield is clearly trying to 1 up the sig

This is what I’ve been wanting Sig to do. A Flush fit 15rnd P365XL.
My ideal gun would be the new Spectre Comp but with a longer 4.3” slide with 3.7” barrel and a flush fit 15rnd grip module (with longer 3.7” dust cover/pic rail). Come on, your move Sig!
That would be a sweet gun for sure! This one shoots really flat, and cost half of what the specter comp does.
This is a great pistol I bought one and love it.

How is the recoil impulse/snappiness compared to the original Hellcat, and more importantly the 365XL? Sold my original hellcat due to excessive snappiness but the pro may be worth giving a try.
I wish I could really express this better, but it shoots like a compact pistol, like a G19 or my 320 X compact. It is less snappy than a 365 XL and tracks so well.
@@HuntFishShootChannel that's impressive since I felt the 365xl wasnt very snappy at all. I'm really hard at this pro
This is definitely less snappy that the 365XL, but the XL is a close second!
I own both the Hellcat Pro and the 365XL and find the "shootability" and recoil impulse to be very close to one another, with the 365Xl being a touch better IMO. A bit surprising since the Hellcat Pro fills my hand better.
I think I like this more than the PDP COMPACT 😊👍 If I become a fan boy all well 😁

Has this replaced your G48? Did you start carrying appendix recently? I remember you mentioned in the Shield Arms video that you didn't like it with the 48.
Yes I do now, in fact I’m carrying a Sig X compact in the appendix like 98% of the time. I feel like I could replace the Sig easily with this!

is the holosun 407k/507k a direct fit to the hellcat pro or do you have to make some modifications?
From what I have seen is some mods may need to be made.
It looks like it has a better trigger than the x macro
Eh they are about the same, differences in how they feel but both are pretty good!
How do think it compares to the mr920 out on the range?
The MR920 is easier to shoot, yet the Hellcat Pro is slimmer and would likely be easier to conceal.
I hope they’ve fixed the metallurgy on the strikers.. I broke one on the original Hellcat.. SA shipped me another one abs installed it… but couldn’t trust it anyMore so I sold it in favor so the 365XL…

Define better? It shoots very similarly to my X-compact but considerably better. It’s a sweet shooting gun and doesn’t shoot like a micro compact.

If you had to choose between this and the XDM Elite Compact 9mm that you reviewed in November of 2020, which would you pick and why?
I would choose this over the Xdm Elite Compact. It shoes nearly as easily and as well but slimmer and holds more rounds. Additionally, I prefer the grip of this as well as trigger also!
@@HuntFishShootChannel Thanks! I'm kind of leaning towards the XDM, only because I also want the full-size 4.5-inch variant for home and car defense, and then the mags are compatible....or at least, I assume they are. But this is good info to think about.
Does the hellcat pro bigger version could use compensator as well?
It does come with one but if there was an aftermarket barrel for it you could put a comp on it.

Yes I would indeed! It’s a fantastic pistol! Really slim and easy to conceal plus with 15 rounds. Easy to shoot as well

I have shot both extensively and would definitely go with the PRO over the RDP.
Hey man was curious how the gun and the Wasp are holding up on this?
We have had zero issues with the wasp and the Hellcat has been great! Now I can’t say the same for the dragonfly red dot on the larger guns.

No issues, we have had an RDP with the wasp on it for a touch over a year and still going strong!

Would I stop carrying my Sig P365 for this???? Nope. No way Jose. I would never ever put a red dot on a carry gun.
It ships without a red dot and offered with out if you don’t want one. I would carry one with a dot personally but you have to do what you are comfortable with

Ditched the electronic earmuffs for the Axil GS Extreme 2.0 about a month ago. Their hearing protection for firearms is solid, the audio is first rate and the Bluetooth is an added bonus. 👍🏿👍🏿
