I am sold on this, Dave. I am still rocking my Huawei Freebuds Pro 3 buds but these Momentum Sport buds check almost ALL the boxes and do even more with HR and temperature.
Would be great to have a Sennheiser model like this - form, accessories, modes but without the sport functions. I really like the removable ear-flip-thingy, the app feature showing its fit and obviously the Sennheiser quality overall...Thanks for the review, was awesome, as always :)
+1, those features add extra cost to the earbuds. I have no interest in heart rate & temp sensors, but I love everything else-open design, sound quality, 10mm drive, etc. Looking forward to the next version of Mtm Sport without the two sensors.
Comparing the earplugs to the Beats Fit Pro made watching your review instantly more interesting, cause I love my Beats Fit Pro but am super interested in the new HR measurement technique. Double thumbs up !
I have been using open ear headphones. It gave me confidence while I was running and cycling. I have been using Shokz open fit pro for about a year now.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Sennheiser headphones are developed, 'produced' and distributed by Sonovo, a Swiss med tech company. Nichtsdestotrotz schöner Gedanke.
While still quite satisfied with my only pair (SM 2 P) not even all that old.... I use them so heavily for sports, sleep, zoom and many other cases at work or free time that such an expensive purchase could quite well make sense...
I lost my Beats Fit Pro case in a pile of snow this winter. Now, after all the snow has melted, i found it, and guess what, it works like nothing ever happened to it. So i wouldn't worry too much about the lower IP rating for Beats Fit Pro :)
I bought the beats fit pro back when they first released and I don't like like the wing tips. They jab into my ear and cause physical discomfort after a short time.
Great review Dave, as always. I’ll stick with HR from my garmin. Don’t need body temp and wouldn’t know what to do with it. As you said, they should be giving the user some insight off the temp data, otherwise it’s pointless for me. Keep up the great work.
Ya’ll should try the Jabra Elite 8 Active… Sound is great, ANC is premium, stays nicely in the ear and shape is also better than most. Also IP68 rated and shock resistant… There’s no heart rate sensor in, but that’s just good… I have my Epix Pro to get my HR 😄
That's sort of my take away here. These are amazing earbuds, I'm a big fan. But the price is simply due to the biometrics inside. Do you need that? Probably not. But I suppose there's some super niche situations where this could be a game changer.
@@ChaseTheSummit i agree with you…. But will it also be popular? probably not since it doesn`t bring any extra value like XM5`s with it`s stellar ANC. I work in retail selling consumer electronics just like these, and i see the top end being around $£200€ that ppl are willing to shell out on new premium earbuds, and then comes the Hi-fi folk that want the best on the market… But thats like way under 3% of the consumer base. Thats why i recommend the Elite 8 Active as a good value alternative for ppl into sports. Would i like to try out those Sennheisers yes definately, but would i buy them… 😅 Cool concept though
How bad is wind noise in transparency mode? I always use transparency mode as I run in places with some car traffic and I yet have to find earbuds with good transparency mode and wind suppresion.
These sound appealing, but I will wait on these, as Im a bit skeptical. My tw3s died randomly, warrantied 3 times and all 3 pairs the left ear bud went out.
Yup. Sennheiser's QC with their TWS and wired earbuds are pretty terrible the past 5+ years. Their over-ear headphones $150 and over last forever and are usually solid to great sounding, but that brand quality doesn't represent everything else they sell.
Yup same. Senheisser finally sent me the Momentum TW4s as a warranty replacement for my 3s 1 thing I will 100% say is that the customer service is amazing
Awesome review from you. But for me is too bulky and I Literally ''hat3'' that ear flip idea. It looks like those cheap earphones back in the day. Im returning mine, not worth the price.
I'm using Anker Soundcore Sport X10. Very, very good earbuds for a reasonable price. You can even swim with them. Anyway, I don't know why someone would trust the HR sensor of the earbuds and pay that kind of money.
Hmmm.... So, you can get redundant HR data on a Garmin watch but no live body temperature reading??? Kind of... what's the point, if you have a nice set of earbuds already?
@@Olga_Sevastopol_RU They were very secure and sound good but I was very disappointed with the transparency mode it was almost unusable so I ended up returning them.
Certainly expensive, the wings do work though. These are some of the most secure buds I've tried. It would be nice to see a "find my earbud" feature to locate them if lost!
I picked up a JLAB airpop go for $25. Sound quality is really good, and the battery life is amazing. Comes with a charging case that has built in USB cable so you don't have to worry about forgetting or losing the charging cable. Beats any apple airpods or any crazy stupid expensive earbuds.
I use tws earbuds. But i agree. There are still problems with them. Connectivity issue and so on. So sometimes when i just wanna chill, its great to put on some wired iems, with no problems whatsoever 😌
Thanks for putting these to the test, Chase. We appreciate it & honored that they're your new favorite running earbuds. That trail run looks epic!
My pleasure!

Just get the Momentum 4s then.

I just ordered the graphite. I have been waiting for this. Great sound and directed towards sport use.
Do they work for crossfit? Do they sit on place with comfort?
@@Olga_Sevastopol_RU good question!
A choice of a few brighter colours would be good. If one of these buds do drop out on a trail any of the available colours would be hard to spot.

Great review, Sennheiser is one of the best brans. thanks Dave.
As a German, I simply have to love everything Sennheiser 🥇
Genau 😅

The beats fit pro are my favorite not sure if I want to spend the money for the Sennheiser but I’m very intrigued

Thank you for the feedback. We'll pass this along!
So will I be able to switch off the heart rate sensor?
I liked that green colour but the Sennheiser logo being orange is not a good contrast on green. A black or white colour would be a better contrast
Perfect information, thanks lot ❤🎉

I'm wondering if that feature will come to Garmin eventually. For now it's exclusive to Polar watches.
I thought Iphone didn't support Aptx?
I’m connected to the sennheiser app and the polar app but can’t get any readings for temp or heart rate
You need to add them as a workout sensor in Polar Flow.
@@ChaseTheSummit I tried that. It wouldn’t pair
Just ordered a pair of them. The beats fit pro just didn’t sound good enough for me and the Bose fall out on longer runs
Did you test them on training? Im looking for good in ear for crossfit which stays on place during training
@@Olga_Sevastopol_RU They were very secure and sound good but I was very disappointed with the transparency mode it was almost unusable so I ended up returning them.
Do they suit for little womens ears?
I think so? I suppose it depends on your ears. There are additional smaller ear tips in the box.
I think I'm good with my airpods pros and a polar h9.
Homie said the price starts with 3
😅 for earbuds
Lots of cheaper options out there. These are certainly not $30 amazon knock offs.
Way to expensive. You lose one while running or biking you are screwed. And the finicky wings don’t instill much confidence.

I want to see ear wax’s
I just don't trust wireless earbud tech, yet. There are ALWAYS irresolvable issues with fit, sound (not loud enough), or both.
Not loud enough?? Umm you may have done some damage in the past with your ears if things that go into your ears are not loud enough

Nope
Have you ever thought to stop making stupid comments on RUclips?
