What strikes me about the Championship playoff finals is just how often the underdog wins it! I think in at least half of these the team finishing lower that season ends up getting promoted!
The Championship playoff finals are now, for me, the game of the season to watch. It used to be the FA Cup Final until the big 4 turned them into just another game that interrupts their ECL campaign. You just cannot beat the drama, passion and prize of the richest game in football.

I feel so bad for Preston. A club that rich in history deserves a shot at top flight football. I hope someone can take them there soon (and this is from a Bolton fan!)
They were in the late 1890s when the football league first division was introduced in 1888 in fact they went invincible in the inaugural 1888-89 Football League First Division season and won the FA Cup in 1889 thus making them the first Club to achieve the The Double
@@vsocarras27 Preston is also the first club to go undefeated in a season. That same year they won the double they won all their games in the league and in the FA cup. This is why that team was monikered "The Invincibles".

The 2014 final against QPR was as gutting as you can get. We had all the possession, virtually every shot of the game, played against ten men for most of the second half, QPR keeper had the game of his life and we lost in virtually the last minute to virtually the only shot QPR had.
