This was a well done video . I just made my first cooper cutlery purchase. I recently got into traditional pocket knives. Huge fan of GEC, but the latest releases of cooper sucked into their brand. Glad to hear they have an interesting history.
Thanks for the kind words, mate. A family run company that has a bright future. I think they are doing some amazing things. Hopefully other youtubers will give them the recognition they deserve 👊
Morning brother, another fantastic informative video , hats off to the coopers love the story and that barlow you showed 😍 , will look forward to seeing what they can produce, looks like a lovely trapper pal great addition to the collection 👊
Thanks for telling us about this knife. You did a fantastic job telling us about the company history and your thoughts on the knife and company. Well done sir! 👍
Cheers, MB!! Missed all the lives 😢. I struggle to get involved in the community sometimes. I feel bad for not supporting the lads. Times just tight atm
@@SteelCityKnives Don't worry Martin. Family first, then work - then all of this stuff. I've spent too much time watching videos and not enough making videos this week.
Thank you, mate. I'm struggling atm for time. I don't know how these guys do it. By the time I'm free to do some videos, I'm knackered. It's good to have you back, mate 👊
I was lurking in the live. I had my hands full. Enjoyed it thoroughly. That's another thing with RC. Once companies realise we are all falling over ourselves to buy a machined made knife at those prices. More will be at it. We have opened the floodgates now.
Beautiful knife brother!!! I really like the battle axe shield and the etching on the blade. I grew up in Southern Ohio not too far from Winchester!! That’s what caught my eye when I picked up my big Chief. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few more in the future. I hope you are doing well!!😀👊
I didn't think the trapper pattern was a favourite of mine. But I'm getting a lot in the collection 😂. I like the 2 blade configuration...one for food and one for other uses. Cheers, David! 👊
Man i clicked on this one fast!Haha what a sweet piece brother! I love the covers on that and that beautiful blade! Awesome shield of course. Bang up knife brother!👊🏼
What's interesting about Cooper is they are resurrecting Schatt & Morgan. They've been a work in progress, but in the last few years/releases, they've made huge strides. Their lastest is in D2. They may rival GEC one day.
Hi Kenneth 👋 I'm just happy they went for and started. Brilliant to have another cutlery company out there. I've spoken to the son of Gilbert. He talks about eating humble pie alot. Very down to earth bloke. They all love cutlery and all have brilliant collections. Ones a big Queen fan. Really looking forward to their future. Cheers mate 👊
Enjoyed the video Matin . I'm a secret lemonade drinker ......I 've been trying to give it up but it's just one of them nights ! Are you a secret RCB carrier ? .....shhhhhh..... your secret 's safe with me ! 🤣
That post was to wind the RC fan boys up. I had them both out as I had been recording this. I've never known any other brand in cutlery that is so fiercely protected 😂. I think us UK guys love a wind-up. I like having knives that are historic or a big part of the knife scene. For better or worse, RC is part of it. So I will have a reference to it. Plus, I'm very tempted to disassemble it and see how it's put together. A video for another time, maybe. Cheers mate 👊
@tonysponies.2007 My era 🤣 🎶 I'm a secret Lemonaaade drinker....R Whites.....R Whites 😂🤣. Embedded in us...just like when I used to reach for a club. If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit 🤣😂
It's like anything. I've got some solid wood furniture chest of draws hand built. I think they are dove tail joints? You'd know what they are 😂. But I've had for decades. It's solid last me my lifetime. I just change the handles and give it a coat now and again. I love them. Hope you're doing well, mate? Let me know when you are settled at the new place? I watched Butchers crossing on my breaks at work. I think I need to read the book now. I'm loving the knives, mate!! 👊
Well, I just watched the movie, which was good, but yes, you should read the book. The men and the conditions are even rougher, if you can believe that, and there are some changes that you'd find interesting.
In short it's just much easier to buy Brands and CNC machines than Artisans. If a young person wants a career where they are appreciated and not easily replaced a Cutler apprentice would be a good choice. And there are some Great Master Cutlers still out there.
If I had my time again....I would have loved to get into it. But I might not enjoy knives as much 😂 working with them all day. I think there seems to be a healthy intake in Sheffield of young blood. With Cooper Cutlery in America, things are looking up. I hope 🙏 🤞 Cheers, Doug. Always appreciate your comments, mate 👊
Cheato 👋 👊 I thought I lost your stickers the other day. I found them in my daughters room. She loves stickers and likes yours😂. I gave her one. Hope you're doing good brother? 🫡
@cheatobandito All good here, brother. I did worry for a while. She was sweet with it, though when i busted her. I have shown her a few of your shorts. You got two fans in this house now 👊
RoseCraft is the best value for the money for traditional knives out there right now, CASE has NOTHING on the fit and finish of a RoseCraft traditional pocket knife.
If you think that's value for money. Good on you. Why did they hike their prices up with their recent releases? Materials have not changed, and neither has their manufacturing processes. The OEM is Brother knives. Have you ever owned one? Exactly the same as Rosecraft perfect FF but half the price. This shows you their profit margins. If value for money is what you're after? Try Bear and Sons. Making some fantastic knives recently. Handmade in the States. Also cheaper than RC 😯 If you love RC. That's cool. I didn't say once in this video not to buy them. Collect what makes you happy is my motto. I'm just saying it how I see things. Cheers for the comment
Where are you, mate? I'm in the UK and got it on a sale. If your in the States. They have their on site which I think they sell on it. C. Risner- Traditional pocket knives also sells them. I think they sell out fast.
I was not aware of the point you make about Rose craft before .Although I have not yet but may buy one in the future it is a consideration .I like the battle axe and weed offerings apart from the shields,Very typical of the Yanks to go that bit OTT some of the fancy bolsters for me another example .I am of course an old boring Englishman .Thanks for the viewing .
They were on sale at traditional pocket knives for sub $20 a few weeks back. Those Cooper cutlery boys must be related to Byron Kennedy!
You crack me up 😂
Cheers Elan 👊
Thanks for the details on Cooper Cutlery, sounds like a up and coming knife to look for. 👍🙂
Gizmo 👋
I can see them going from strength to strength. I'm really excited about their future ☺️
Hope you are doing good Gizmo?
