Dude, I seriously LOVE your content. I always look forward to your videos! Can't wait for some more stuff to roll out! This grey set looks awesome, really compliments the bike big time.
@@backcountryadvmoto I just realized Giant Loop put you on their website. This specific video is on their Round The World Pannier page. Holy shit dude that is AWESOME.
Really appreciate your videos. So much so I just ordered a couple of shirts to help support you. And like when you drink your local beers along with the video.
I'm pulling the trigger on the Giant Loops, based on this video. Good job! Love your vids (have sub'd), and I'm very surprised that you don't have more subscribers. Strange.
Not yet, but I have one coming soon. I use a cabalas ultralight backpacking tent that I love, but lone rider is sending me their ADV tent to check out. I’m curious to see how it is.
I'm looking at a set of these as well... I currently run SW-Motech hard bags for the long road type trips... like my Arctic Circle ride a year ago... I"m wondering if that mount system works with the SW Motech frame mounts.... Great videos
@@backcountryadvmoto I checked with Ryan at Giant Loop and the Round the World plates don't fit the SW-Motech rack... but SW-Motech has a plate adaptor that looks like it will fit the Giant Loop bag system... good guys over there at GL
Great video. Few quick questions: Did you mount these on asymmetrical rack? If so, any issues other than just offset? In cities, how do you secure them? Really am looking to add these to my 18 ATAS but was surprised when I installed the Outback rack and realized it is asymmetrical.
There were a few things. The durability, customer service, and the fact that they are made in the USA was really big for me. I’ve had GL gear for years and it just seems to out last all other soft luggage.
thanks for the detail. Question, can i get just the bags and not the quick release system? would this strap on to the typical ADV tube racks? i have a 1250GS with the tube side racks. or do i need the quick release system ?
Great question and thanks for watching. There are two ways that these attach to the bike one being the quick release system and the other being the "puck system" like on normal hard panniers.( touratech-usa.com/Store/Pannier-Mounting-Kit-18mm ) They are not able to be attached securely with out one of these systems. The QR system is very nice and convenient and lockable. The other hardware is also nice and sturdy, but you have to remove items out of the pannier to be able to get to the pucks to detach the pannier. I personally thing the QR mounts are the best option.
Stillwater no not at all. The yellow bag just makes it convenient if you want to take only the contents of the yellow bag out into your campsite or hotel room
+Jon Greany www.lemsshoes.com/collections/mens-boulder-boots-all This is what I have. They are very packable, and can be rolled or filled to fit just about anywhere. I’m sure there are similar shoes out there, this just one option.
+Jakudah Symba in my opinion they are better than the Mosko because they are made in the USA not China, and the material is thicker and stronger. I know a lot of people who have had blown out welded seams on the Mosko stuff. At the moment they are the easiest soft luggage to take on and off with the available QR mounts. To be fair, I’ve never owned the Mosko Moto stuff, but I know a lot of people who have and many of them have been disappointed with the build quality
Hi I know this post was a year ago but I have question on the quick release system. My tubing comes up around 19 mm(I guess it’s 18mm with paint on). Are you panniers 18 mm tubing? Is it a snug fit Cheers from the Uk
Most people have super cheep locks that ANYONE with a wave pick or a screwdriver can get into as fast as they could with the key. Funny coincidence my friends KTM super Duke with the keyless start fob died at work tonight. we were trying to" hot wire" ( needs a dealer diagnostic tool) it and probably 10-20 people walked by including a cop ( parked at a hospital ER) and no one said anything. We looked like we were official ( scrubs). It kinda scared me how easily it was to 1 replace the antenna and 2 no one even gave a second glance as we disabled the lock and were pushing the bike on the trailer.
Does anybody want to buy a pair of these? Message me. I used them once and changed bikes. They are setup with brackets for the Tusk Racks. Practically brand new... includes unused dry bag inserts. Let me know if interested.
This is an overview of the bags and 100% honest opinion . This was not a sponsored video. I have a few other videos on these bags comparing them. I’ve had these bags for 5+ years now.

Todd Gardner I think so, I can’t say for 100% certain though. I would give either Ryan or Harold a call at Giant Loop. They can answer your question

Can these be mounted with the QR plates to a 2022 BMW R1250 GSA?
Yes, but you need a GS adapter

What model of motorcycle is that ? Thanks for the in-depth videos!

I’m sure you considered Mosko bags as well. Any major points that made you choose GL over MM? Thanks

They are 18mm racks and there is enough play that 19mm would be fine. Who makes your racks?

Have you compared these to MOKO Moto?
The only plus for hard panniers are the locks
True. That might be the only advantage.
