just started electric after playing acoustic for 12 years, this just brought me back into my beginner days lol. Ive got down the first 5 seconds of the solo and that about it
Eddie’s the greatest of all time. There’s so much nuance in every note that it makes other players sound bland by comparison. You do a damn good job at capturing that nuance my friend 🤘
I like the way you can hear the natural unamplified sound coming from the strings mixed with the amplified sound at the same time. Great levels. Great tutorial video!! This is my favourite solo of all.
Your emulation of his technique is impressive. I’ve been playing for 46 years and I don’t suck. That being said, some people got it, and some people don’t. You GOT IT!!! Rock on brother!
I think it’s about time I learn this solo and take my Electric Guitar playing to the next level. I’ll definitely be grabbing your Shred like Ed course.
It's just amazing how much goes into this solo. Really impressive that you've been able to master it, I can't imagine what it must have been like in Eddie's mind when he came up with this
Thank you Tom! I am working your course Shred like Ed currently and it’s Awesome. I love how authentic it is! You leave in all the mis-steps and multiple attacks (respectfully). Such as if you miss a pinch harmonic and then get it the second time. That’s exactly how it is as you know, when we are learning something new and challenging. You also cover everything verbally without talking too much or playing too fast. Bravo my friend! It’s a great course!
Bro, this is the best demo and tutorial for for the Beat It solo. You captured a lot of the little nuances that Eddie put in there to the point where it almost sounded like a take he did himself. I learned a lot from this...Thanks
Hi Tom, congrats for the best "Beat It" tutorial, i really love it. So there´s just one detail, at 19:19 the first pinky is at 13 fret not 12 on the second string, all the others pinkys are at 12 fret, but not the first one. Hear the isolated guitar very slowly again. I know it´s just a little note but that´s the only little mistake (one note) of the hole tutorial and it will be 100% perfect. Love your tutorials. Did you read what i said? Cheers from Venezuela, "Mi pana Tom". Love your Yngwie stuff too!!!
Wow, I never knew that rumor that Ed used a SS amp for the solo, but when you listen to it...very clearly something different than the album tones he was using at the time. Excited to see your new course drop, I might actually pull the trigger on that one since you're clearly top 3 VH-style shredders on YT at the moment.
Nicely done. Thank you. Always after glimpsing into Ed's visionary playing, and demystified by a true fan, you @TomShreds, it's mind altering, and such fun to play!
Very good lesson. First one I have found that I'm going to sit down and learn. Feel like I can do this one. Really like the way you identify repeating licks and teach them first before the Phantom Menace parts ;-)
That stretch for the 19th fret is so ridiculously hard for me right now will try again soon cheers as we go cheers like continuously till it feels comfortable obviously at my own pace cheers
This is awesome. Making me go back and listen to the isolated track note by note. Check out the 15-8-12 section on the b and e strings at the end. Is Eddie hitting 15-8-13 on the b string the very first time - perhaps every other time - or do my ears deceive me? He definitely hits 15-8-12 on the b the 2nd and 4th time he plays it. The note is really fast the 3rd time, so tough to hear it. Thanks!
Hey Tom! I cant express how grateful and happy I am for your Swedish Shred Secrets course! It absolutely upped my playing by a 1000%. I have some video proof of it on my channel and these shred gains are only thanks to you!💪🏼🤘🏼💪🏼🤘🏼 Thanks for everyhting you do and I cant wait to try out your new course Shred Like Ed
I'd love the Mine all mine solo as well Tom if you were thinking of things to do? It's a great solo and not well demonstrated! I've signed up for the Eddie and Yngwie packages and they are great! Best wishes from Northern Ireland!
Beat it by michael jacson i heared that song for a decade lately i know tha EDV who play the lead guitar which very overwhelming sounds ever youve got the greatest your my I dol Jump which you perform i salute you and coleague groups ever@. 😊 😊 😊
Thank you man At the tapping part The sound still the same , not as you showed Can you please tell me do I need to buy something to make the sound improve I only have e-guitar and small amp

Far Beyond The Sun next time! 🙏🎸
That’s too hard for Tom.
Tom take the bait.
Yeah.. Tom can never .. not even in 100 years.. 😅. I hope this touches his heart . So that he can touch ours later😅😅@@GuitarGangsterArmi
not even once lol comparing this solo to far beyond is absurd
@@naegleriafowleri2230 I know right, the beat it solo is closer to smoke on the water than far beyond the sun
YeSS!! Do Yngwie!!
Man, this is gold. Great stuff Tom. This should keep me busy over the weekend between hockey and baseball.
That's the most perfect reproduction of this great solo I've ever heard. The harmonic at @0:17 just stunned me
Dear Tom,
You are SO GOOD...
Mega...Thanks!
You are the only one who plays all the harmonics correctly, very close to the original recording

I can watch this solo all day and never get tired of it. Van Halen was one of a kind for just this solo alone.

12:02 your ability to consistently nail his pinch harmonics is admirable.

Yes half a step down
