I gotta say that this was f*ckin amazing! This was easily the best VH medley that I have ever heard or seen, and it just makes me so happy to see you do this. Great job, Tom. I am in awe. Fantastic!
I've had the honor to have met Eddie several times and just watching this person play the guitar looked like Eddie's fingers.... Shaking hands with Eddie was like shaking hands with channel locks they were so strong..... His finger muscles had muscles ..... Miss you buddy and to the person playing guitar to this I'm sure the main man is smiling at you.....
Lucky man. I wanted to meet him. Had 2 shows to go to and they canceled them both I was pissed. I wanted to see Eddie play. Insane fast hands. BEST EVER!! Nobody even close to the man. This guys good, is he a studio musician. Or he Joe Satriani. lol
The song 5150 is such a unique masterpiece!! That’s easily my favorite Van Hagar song. Eddie was a genius gift to the world. RIP Eddie your fans love you.
I also love that song. I am one who believes that, although different sounds that the Hagar era was just as good as the Roth era. And Rocked equally as hard just in different tones. VH4LIFE
Eddie was one of one, there will never be another, I really miss him, his rhythm sense was out of this world, I wish "Right Now" was also in this medley.
Agreed on all counts. Would have loved Right Now to be in there, but it's too piano heavy. Perhaps next time I'll get someone in to do that bit! Thanks for watching 👍
And he demonstrated thar rythm sense when he recorded the solo section of michael jacksons beat it...when he was drunk as hell!!! Edie was the one dude!

Each nuance and every detail faithfully reflects not only Ed’s unique vision and abilities, but your exceptional character and passion combined with your extraordinary intellect, tireless work ethic, and extreme talent as well. Brilliant job, Tom! Truly.
That's incredibly kind of you Andrew, thanks for saying that mate. I really appreciate it. I slaved away on this for 7 weeks, and it makes me happy to know folks are still enjoying it 😎🎸🤘
Sitting here at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, taking a break, having a few drinks, thoroughly enjoying your playing, honoring Van Hagar! What a treat. Your dedication has paid off! I hope your close friends and family enjoy this as much as a stranger does. (I say that because none of my friends and family enjoy my content) Awesome time relaxing and enjoying, peace:)
Guitarist from Melbourne here. Just discovered you brutha. Very cool mate. One thing that really stands out here apart from your obvious technical prowess is the videography, style (blacked out background etc) & editing. Well done man, original, mega quality & ultra effective.
I'd just like to say the following!! Congratulations!!! Another 15 : 15 of pure art, history, nostalgia, and above all immortality!! Excellent performance!! Congratulations!!! RIP Eddie!!
You killed it, glad some other folks appreciate’s his genius as much as I do. Grew up listening to him remember when 1984 came out and jump was all over MTV. I was glued to the TV I started playing because of him. You are on another playing field though. Great job.
~ Very Simply … A Masterpiece Tom * Truly A Beautiful Tribute Of What Eddie Gave To Us * So Many Awesome Parts Of This Video * Love The White Strat With The PRS Neck * Don’t Ever Finish What Ya Started Here Tom, You’ve Got The Gift, And I Know That Eddie Is Smile’n From Up Above *
I was holding off on the LIKE button till I saw Finish What Ya Started... I knew you'd do it. And then you hit my two suggestions (from the last vid) back-to-back. I have no idea how you figure these out, but they are a treat!
Utterly amazing, Eddie was a true gift to this world, and he lift a mark that will never be achieved by anyone else. You are the closest thing I have ever heard to him, freaking identical. The tone and delivery are spot on. I’d love to be able to play like this…
Enjoyed the video immensely. The guitar tone needs some attention. Could’ve used your smile to show how much fun and joy playing his music brings. Thanks for paying homage to my hero.
Love this!!! Always preferred DLR, but it never really mattered as long as Eddie was on the guitar!!! A truly incredible talent!! I could have even dealt with Vince Neil singing as long as King Edward was there!!! RIP Eddie!! There will never be another!!!
I always knew Eddie was one of a kind (way ahead of his time) a true pioneer, and trend setter (not a copycat) and the greatest rock electric guitarist in the world. Nothing has changed. We miss him.
Criticism: -Right Now is missing. -That PRS Silversky is a bit too crunchy for the low gain riffs, I'm pretty sure neck and bridge humbuckers in parallel with a volume knob pulled back works better. Notable exception is Finish what ya Started where the PRS was the right tool. But this is nitpicking, I mean your playing is stellar and it all sounds fantastic
Great playing man !!! I love Eddies playing! The first time i heard VH 1 when it first came out( I'm old..i know,i know!!!😂) i thought "this must be an alien, because there is no way that a human being can play that way!) I eventually got to the point where i could play a fairly close approximation of his songs after countless 1000s of hours as a kid practicing...There will never be another one like him....He sent a whole generation of kids running to the music store to try play guitar....He was so cool.....smiling away while blazing through a solo with his cigarette stuck on his headstock....his playing was so unique,no one heard anything like it at the time.....as if that wasnt enough of an accomplishment,he actually built his own guitars! ..and just like his playing,it was uniquely his own creation. This is just my opinion, but i never fell in love with the music that he created with Sammy as much as the Dave stuff.....Sammy is a much better singer, but Daves voice was so unique to their sound, along with his attitude and showmanship....he launched the careers of countless blonde Lady killin'' front men. I always liked Eddies sound better with Dave as well...VH 1 and Fair Warning are as close to perfection as i can imagine....Those albums captured his "brown sound" the most imho... When he got to the Sammy era,his guitar became too "processed" sounding and he got too whammy bar happy....once again, just my opinion.... I remember when we used to await the next VH album to see what kind of cool ,new inventive thing he would come up with on the little solo pieces...and he never disappointed us......Eruption,Spanish Fly,the beginning of Mean Street,Cathedral,Little Guitars,etc......i cant imagine how another guitarist could come along and inspire as well as innovate to the level that King Edward did.....God broke the mold with Eddie!
I said it for 30 years. I was a fan of the man’s music. Didn’t really care about the lyrics. Thank you for posting. EVH could have put out an all instrumental album. I would have been the first on line to buy it.
WOW!!!!! What an amazing talent you are. Hopefully some day you will cross paths with Michael and Sammy. You deserve everything that comes your way and more👍👍👍👍
This is beautiful. I love the evolution of EVH. All of his versions were great. This version of VH had such a wonderful distinct tone and approach. It could be really chimey and then flip the switch and be as dirty as dirty gets. I know creation of his Peavey 5150 amp and then the new guitar design played into his sound. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us all!
Great job on this whole video. I like how you included Feels So Good and Can't Stop Loving You. I've always felt that those are two of his more underrated solos.
Cheers mate! Yeah totally agree, sometimes the deeper cuts are the best. Feels So Good is a new discovery for me, and I fell in love with it. I’m a huge fan of Ed’s keys playing. He left us with so many gems 💎
Fantastic job!!….a lot of people poo poo the Van Hagar stuff but they’ve obviously never sat down and tried to work out “sucker in a 3 piece” or “AFU”…etc….Eddie did some incredible work on these albums….well done Tom👍
Cheers legend! I agree. I actually used to be one of them. I felt like the Van Hagar stuff was left overs or that mediocre sequel no-one watched. But now I realise it's all incredible. 5150 got me in the door, and then Carnal, then the other 2 grabbed me as well. I do agree Dave had something Sam didn't, but I'd suggest the opposite is also true. I'm just grateful we have so much great Van Halen music to enjoy for the rest of our days.
What a great job !!! Eddie's masterful job creating great music His super creations and harmonics , tapping , chords and rhythms were so masterful!!!! Thanks for the video I'll look into your course !! Thanks!

Awesome. Ed was a tremendous song writer. He went from the baddest gunslinger in town to a true master of music as he matured.
