Atomic Mass Games, the table top games company, was the one to discontinue it, not Disney. Disney rents licenses. Disney would $love$ to keep receiving money from AMG.
Ive been a massive fan of Star Wars Armada…. The rule changes kinda sucked…. But whatever. The game was still massively fun to play and incorporate into table top rpgs (with some rule changes. I even have my own custom fleets spanning Empire of the Hand, the Hapans, and soon a Hutt fleet. It would be nice if the models for xwing and Armada were released for 3d printing so fans could continue to play after manufacturing was shut down. No suprise though. When FFG was stripped of the game and Atomic Mass took it…. I knew it was the end. I hate being right.
Greetings, I’ve seen videos of leaders with in the xwing and armada space basically saying this is okay. Now the that it’s up to the community to keep the game going and with things like 3d printers and zines we can move the game forward and introduce things like new ships.
Most armada players are relieved. The community has been growing despite receiving no content and armada has a promising team aiming to continue home brew development through 3D printing.
I could never realy play star wars armada, but i still have an imperial and even rebel fleet standing arround, must say, the models are very good for display as well
Damn just bought a few armada and x-wing models and then I find this vid… well at least they’ll look nice on a shelf as originally planned but still that sucks.
This is pretty sad for me and this game community. The miniatures for these games are really nice and good quality. I've been collecting the miniatures and playing these games since the X-Wing game was first released in late 2012 (Armada was a few years later). It's sad that it will no longer be developed (designing and producing more ships/models for the game). However, there is a strong player community and I have a feeling we will have community leadership and continued community development of the game.
I'm glad that Armada and X-Wing at least managed to bring a lot of characters and ships back into the canon during its lifetime. It'll be missed for sure.
Hunters is literally abysmal and the epitome of whats wrong with modern gaming how the $@&# can you seriously use that as a comparison for a 'bright future' concerning star wats game. Bro we had BF2, KOTOR 1&2, we peaked already with SW xontent

Star wars gaming as a whole has been the worst aspect of Disney take-over. Lucasarts used to lead the pack in the gaming industry. Disney doesn't know what to do with gaming, Period.
Well ... X-wing died with V2.0, from my PoV. And Armada wasn't really supported since ... I don't know. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away ... maybe. I don't care, I have all I need for playing the game and most players too. Only 40k players needs regular updates for playing a game.
Games like Armada, X-Wing and Legion, I can't understand why computer miniatures games haven't been made, the rules are there already, the animation doesn't need to be overly complicated either and people would buy them. They could even micro transaction for more ships like real life (although less micro) I bought star wars monopoly on PC in the 90s and enjoyed it
Watching the Acolyte felt worse than this news, Star Wars fans being tormented right now :( (at least we have Star Wars Unlimited now and Dave Filoni putting out good shows! and Andor was epic too; gotta stay positive... haha)

The problem with SW games is that Disney doesn't want people playing as the Empire. Any Imperial character has to betray the Empire during the course of the game (if joining the Empire was even an option in the game at all). So, yeah, Disney doesn't want people to have fun.

Just a little correction: X-Wing and Armada are no longer produced by FFG since 2019, they were with it's "sister" company, Atomic Mass Games (AMG)
Bruh Armada hasn’t really had an update since the Venator came out.
I always wanted to get into X-Wing and Armada when I had the spare cash to do so, sad to see it end before I could.

As a Legion player, I was always tempted to get into X-Wing and Armada, too.

The Role Playing Game hasn't been officially canceled, but it too is dead in the water. Has been for 4 or 5 years now.
Armada didn’t have the popularity of Xwing, but it also didn’t ever have the “2.5” issue either.
