This music itself almost seems to acknowledge that by this point in the game, you're too powerful to be afraid. I so diligently saved shotgun slugs that I could firefight most enemies. And when that failed, I'd just buff myself with psychic powers and pull out my totally not a light saber and jedi all over the place.
System Shock 2 has to be remastered and remade. It’s an absolutely legendary game. The next generation of gamers need to fear SHODAN. The atmosphere and music in this game are on another level, even after all these years.
shodan doesn't even do shit in System Shock 2, shes a great villain in System Shock but just a quest giver with a non-sense evil plan in the last 5 minutes of SS2

God damn I miss the atmosphere of old games. they weren't afraid to be wierd, unique, detailed and captivating, now its just all too safe, no one wants to make games with ingenious ideas, or games that take risks. :(
Greetings from 2018 friend, I'm from the future. I definitely feel ya, but count your blessings, it's going to get a LOT worse. They DO end up making Doom4 in 2016 & its cool as shit. They also made a new Fallout, it's a ...multiplayer only game, its not good, lol.
@@r3wcifer Hey, 2019 here, it's not ALL doom and gloom, we have [hopefully] System Shock 3 and a remake of System Shock 1 with modern graphics/controls to look forward to.
You notice that there is a bunch of retro shooter genre games coming out these days? Further proof that old games were better in every way (apart from graphics to please the graphics whores)
in 1999, nothing was remotely on the level of this game's music, especially the Engineering level! the Brosiuses continue to terrify and astound. Llook up the band Tribe, they played Superconductor live, both Brosiuses are on stage IIRC ^.^
@Fawn Then I'm wondering how will they make a new System Shock? The plot must be as good or better than System Shock 2, also they should give players like near infinite options in how to personalize their hero. They should give new weapons and maybe the option to turn the protagonist into a super-cyborg. We all know what happened to Shodan at the end of System Shock 2 and I'm wondering how dangerous will she be if System Shock 3 would appear? I already have a idea for a plot, but let's wait.
@WMan37 I'm not sure where else you could look. There used to be a version on Home of the Underdogs, but it's not there now. Nothing on Grand Old Games, either.

Lifetime classic.
Awesome music from a classic game. This music always makes me think of the intro, and the room containing Bronson and her team.
So nostalgic , feeling loneliness , atmosphere around von braun

1999 was quite a good year for gaming

best tune of them all imo, incredible game all round...
I remember....walking through this lvl, with that music, shotgun in my hands, "Come at me Bro" style
I was sneaking around on impossible difficulty, Crystal Shard in hand, save scumming 😂
8 shots later, shotgun breaks in half and turns to dust.
"It's bludgeonin' time."
Psi operative, scavenging for psi paste, trembling.
"I NEEDS MAH SHIT, MAN!!!"
This song gives me the EXACT same vibes as the GoldenEye pause music, I don't know why
having a full aresnel of weapons and about 3 bullets and coming up against a mech, nothing will ever come close to the atmosphere of this game
Wow you did a great job mixing these!
this was on a ytp!! came here from that
Do you happen to remember the ytp my man?

SS2>>Bioshock. Truth hurts sometimes.
When did this game come out? The music seems ahead of its time.
u kidding the while game was ahead of its time
System Shock came in out 1994 and System Shock 2 came out in 1999. They are both masterpieces, far ahead of their own time.
ThirdStrikeParty The fact this game hasn’t had a sequel in 18 years is fascinating and aggravating.
